I have pre-ordered this as I think it really will help with long form videos. I struggle to remember more than a few sentances so have ended up creating some fairly short, 1-2 min, long form videos and would like to work on 5-10 mins with more in-depth analysis. I particularly like how it can have an opaque display to see your video feed underneath helping you to look directly at the camera lens and the flexibility of using different cameras. Personally I feel this is a game changer.
The selling point for me about this thing is that I can use my canon camera as a web cam and look directly at my zoom caller or viewers and there's no disconnection while they are watching me.
Hey, great video!👍You get it. BTW, the elgato prompter works with other teleprompter software too! (As it can just be a 2nd monitor for any app on your computer).
Good presentation. Learned a lot. My only, not really a complaint, but rather a suggestion is to keep your hands out of the frame of that camera. It's very distracting to the viewer to see your hands flailing away. You don't seed TV hosts use their hands as though they're an airport tarmac aircraft director. Best of luck on your future presentations.
Very polished and informative video. Thanks. Does the streamdeck + dial let you manually control the script line by line, forwards and backwards? What about adjusting the script speed with a dial? Thanks again.
You can scroll up or down essentially line by line. It’s very precise. You can also adjust the script speed with the dial as well. So you’ll have one that could scroll forward and backward and play, and in a second, that could do a speed of the scroll.
Great video. With current backorder, mine will arrive mid-December. I can't wait for the built in screen and ease of camera mounting. I'm coming from a Glide Gear, which is great, but doesn't allow an easy option to mount mic or confidence screen. By the way - I can't believe your sub count isn't at least 10K. The video quality is very good.
Nice vid, thanks Joe! I'm certainly going to get one. Not that I use scripts (I WILL start doing that), but I see this as a great tool for those tutorial and HowTo videos where the eye contact is so effective. Subbed BTW 👍
Hey there! First time watcher! I was recommended your channel since I've been obsessed with the Elgato Prompter recently. 😀 Love the video; love the humor! I hope this is ok to say, since I really don't like jumping into a new channel and immediately dropping criticism. I really like what I see, so if it's welcome for me to do so, I want to offer some suggestions. 1. There's a few moments when you speak too quickly and/or you kind of chew through your words instead of enunciating. Some of the earliest examples... 0:01 - "You've been recording your RUclips videos all wrong." I had to stop and rewind the video to catch what you said. 0:31 - I still can't quite tell what you said here. I think I heard "That's where the sad show sinks in." Slow down, animate your voice, and really enunciate your consonants. If you're worried that slowing down your video will hurt engagement, you should know that a confident, animated voice does better with engagement than meeting or staying within a video length threshold. I guess you could speed yourself up in-post by 5-10%... But I personally recommend working on projecting confidence & clarity instead. 2. It might also help to rebalance your audio levels. The music, memes, and sound effects are all balanced, but they're competing with your voice. Besides dropping a few decibels on the audio surrounding your voice, maybe try mixing your voice to give it more presence. Bump up the lows a little bit to give your voice more authority and add that signature podcast sound. Bump the highs to make the consonants more crisp. If it's not a mixing issue, it might be time to try a different type of microphone. Again, I hope I'm not intruding. Thank you for taking my words into consideration & good luck 😀
Hey thanks for the comment and the insight! No worries as I actually appreciate you taking the time and giving feedback! I will admit when I recorded this it was my first go ever using a teleprompter so I actually found myself trying to look AWAY and make it sound like I wasn’t just reading😅. I can see what you are saying about the mix. TBH I didn’t consider running EQ on my vocals so what you are hearing is 100% raw audio. Again, thanks for the feedback and appreciate you watching!
Hey! Thanks for the video. I am having great success using Zoom with prospects. Even without turning on my video but now that I have my Excel presentation fine tuned I am ready for video. I use Excel live with prospects based upon several data points which they share w me on the call. The monitor I use is 45 inch wide. Every once in awhile a prospect will say it is too small and the can’t see it. How could I use Elegato to make my presentation better and have more eye contact. Any thoughts on how I should mix up the screen sharing w video? Any other guidance would be appreciated.
Great video (minus the political BS, which I do not appreciate)…your points were excellent especially about the integration with all the other elgato toys…I would have bought it through an affiliate link, if you didn’t put in that policy nonsense.Maybe something for you to keep in mind. Thank you for a great video. (Otherwise 😇.).
He didn’t say anything political at all. He lightheartedly joked that a couple of presidents (both republican and democrat) have had trouble reading from teleprompters. Now you’re going to buy the product based on the info you learned from this video, but you’re not going to use the affiliate link to help a small scale creator because you’re incredibly sensitive and made a mountain from a mole hill? Yikes.

I might need this! My editing takes FOREVER because I’m always losing my spot on my script and stumbling and then I have to edit it out.
The selling point for me about this thing is that I can use my canon camera as a web cam and look directly at my zoom caller or viewers and there's no disconnection while they are watching me.
Def better for connecting with the audience!

Good vid! Mine just arrived yesterday. A great equipment upgrade add so far!

Subbed BTW 👍
It can seem very niche but def as more people get access to it the limits will be endless. Appreciate the sub too!
already bought one.. on backorder
Worth the wait!
Hello, Congratulations 👍👏👏👏👏

Picked one up… B.O. til 2/8.
Not too bad of time frame!
How did you get access to this, I can't order it until march?
I ordered it like within the first 12 hours and got lucky I guess
🗿
Instead of spending $279 bucks, I think I'll just use Wordpad and the scroll wheel on my mouse...
