I'd been holding out on getting a teleprompter for a long time because I just couldn't see enough utility for a typical one. This is such a well thought-out and implemented design from Elgato. Congrats and huge thanks to Steggy for championing this design and getting it made even despite doubts. I could see this being as key as a Stream Deck for content creators.
Love that you made it super smooth for people in your eco system, while still making it really good for everyone else as well! Excellent design choices. Not buying a teleprompter yet, but when I get there this is the one for me!
New feature request - The teleprompter speed follows you along as you're speaking the text. This would make everything you say appear more natural because you could say some parts more emotional (faster) - or other parts more integral (slower) instead of a set rate of screen text speed.
Der Prompter ist großartig, und ich nutze ihn selbst! Ich habe viele tolle Feedbacks bekommen, weil ich den Menschen direkt in die Augen schauen kann. Das macht enorm viel aus und kann ich jedem empfehlen.
I would love to see the prompter app being able to download google docs or use word docs as well for scripts in the future. That might actually make it viable for me
We're looking into different features we can add into Camera Hub to bolster its capabilities with Prompter. This is only V1 - we've got a lot of road ahead of us!
I would love to see an “XL” version where the screen size is nearly doubled and have the functionality to rotate the prompter and display screen from landscape to portrait.
Yes! It seems like you covered everything. I just want one that is larger, so it can be my second monitor. Somethine like the size of a 13-15 inch laptop would do.
One feature I’d really like is to be able to add the key points I need to cover in a zoom call and tick them off (via streamdeck) as each point covered to remove them from the prompter screen. This would be really valuable as currently I have to put key points on post it notes around the monitor which sucks or as a note on the screen which sucks if I need to screen share. This way, on prompter, I’d know they were securely and conveniently positioned during the call. I’d buy it for this feature alone
When I do presentations and use bullet point notes, I use it like a secondary monitor and put the notes right up on screen (I usually use Notion for my notes, but sometimes the Notes app). I just use my mouse to scroll down the notes and check off as I go. Works really well :)
I really love this teleprompter!! I hope this gets released soon with a 16 inch!! This will help my content creation for my small production company by a lot!!👍❤️
This is amazing! The speed control with stream decks is a great idea! One idea I would like to see for those that don't have Stream Deck+ is the ability to play and pause when the teleprompter script is moving. That way I don't have to hit one key too many times. Still an amazing product!! Will be on the Christmas list.
Any chance you’re going to release larger versions? My workspace has my cameras and monitors set back about 36” and I could really use a 12-16” teleprompter.
We're always looking into and considering new products or features - but unfortunately can't discuss unreleased products since there's no guarantees a product makes it to the finish line of development.
@@elgato i was JUST looking at making a 12 inch to 14 inch teleprompter setup with desview and some random usb -c monitor with image flip from amazon just for zoom meetings, i also just started using camo app with my xperia phone. what do you think will this 9 inch cover the basics for zoom eye contact or do i need bigger for clicking on buttons and whatnot? i think after i get a teleopmpter setup then i can use steamdeck to become a master at this kind of stuff. i have never made a video of myself or used zoom properly in my life before not even with my laptop webcam haha

@@chrisp6313 so far I’ve used it for recording video scripts, video chatting with co-workers, and reading twitch chat while I’m live. Fantastic product 💯
This is so amazing. Excellent product and excellent presentation. I can't believe I was just looking for this and you guys have it ready! I really wish I could connect an iPhone or put a txt file on a usb or something to make it truly standalone.
To add to that, it would be neat if there was at least one additional input. Maybe not ideal for most but imagine having a two pc setup and then being able to put your game in the prompter or maybe some other creative use case from an alternate video source. By tying the prompter to one pc as the source there is some limit there.
after all of this it took me working out myself rather than telling me what it is the fact that a teleprompter is a camera that shoots through the back of the display text or imagery so you can read off while directly look at the camera which works better than looking off center to read something.
Great product and we're using the prompter ourselfes for 2 months now in our business studio. The main selling point for me was the possibility to use two prompters simultaneous so the reader can switch seamless between two cameras. Actually it wasn't an advertised selling point, so you could add that to your list of features... don't really know why you didn't so far, as it's awesome. As for our setup the system is good but it definitely has some limitations and lacks some features. I've already send an email, but who knows whos reading them. So let me give you another point of view, which is not a one-man-army streamer but a small studio, which might in different needs than a streamer. But I see lots of potential and it's not the hardware, it can be totally solved in software. We're also having a stream deck attached so the person infront of camera can easily change speed, font size, jump chapters and many more, which makes it way easier than using the laptop. Hope you're adding some stuff along the road / fixing some issues: - You can't copy the whole text out later on, which is really bad if you made some changes in app and would like to keep track of everything by copying it back to a Word-document which you can hand to the editor. - You can't connect a shared document, like a Word-document from a cloud service, which would also solve issue #1 (that would actually the best thing for us as a small team, so everyone would be able to access the file and the reader would have the most recent text on screen) - Btw it's sparking some inner fears to misclick on 'minus' ( - ) and instantly losing my script without another warning like 'do you really wan't to delete that script yes / no' - Please add a possibility to highlight text by underline or change textsize, or change text color of that very part, for now you can't do that or only the the text as a whole... - No chance to use the software without attaching the prompter via USB, so no chance to prepare anything beforehand - No preview window, which would make it a lot easier without attaching the monitor - a live preview window on the laptop would also be beneficial to see exactly where the reader is, so someone behind the camera can adjust speed as needed (sometimes it doenst matter how great you prepared a text, some parts need a speed up, while others need to be read slower) - as you're usually limiting the horizontal space so you won't notice the eyes wandering around as much, it would be great to use that space for editorial information. So if you're recording a live video you can give info to fix hair, move somewhere else, or whatever is of importance. As said before, this could be added later on via updates and I hope Elgato will do so, as this is a great piece of equipment, not only for solo streamers but also for all studios using a prompter.
Just got mine today, the only thing I'm running into is the software atm being buggy. Text isn't updating to the prompter and also won't play when hitting the play button.
I would love to see some kind of a way to attach it to camera rails. I would rather support the weight of the prompter if I am leaving it set up on a camera for a while. I modded my old prompter to use normal 15mm rods. Hopefully something fits. If not, there is always Fusion 360 and the 3D printer to fix that.
Thanks, I had just bought Face Cam last year just -before you released the new Elgato Cam, did the same with Steam Deck, just before you released the new Stream Deck Plus - Guess I'm an editor not knowing in advance these new items were coming out. So I am a little miffed that you don't have a backplate specifically for the Face Cam as you release this. I have been waiting for years for such a teleprompter to me made - and now you have done it. Elgato you deserve 10 Stars for this one - but hey I'm still sad about no backplate for the Face Cam. Some of us take a while to be able to upgrade devices especially if we blew it and bought the last generation just before the NEW comes out.
it would be nice to have the camera hub application for phones that way we dont have to travel around with the laptop I do a lot of on location shoots and this prompter would be nice
Does the 1024x600 display allow for higher input resolutions, like 1080p? I would be worried about app window DPI scaling as a secondary monitor if it doesn't.
I run EpocCam on my iPad because I love its front facing camera. I wish I could have my stream chat in the same interface. I figure trying to use my iPad's back camera with this prompter wouldn't work.
In my studio, I stay 3 - 4 meters away from the camera. I hope you produce a wider version of this prompter. It'd be very useful to me. I also hope it can be easily controlled by Stream Deck Pedal.
I want to love it, I really do, but after hours of trying to get it configured, it really has me stumped, almost to the point of returning it. From the Facecam Pro that doesn't look near as good at the Facecam with horrible focusing response, to the 3rd monitor only showing my desktop, and if I drag anything onto it, I have no mouse control at all, to not even being able to pause and start it from my regular Stream deck. I have to look at my monitor just to start and pause... kind of defeats the whole idea. If I could just get this to work with my stream deck, I would probably be happy with it in its most basic functions, which is sad it's not designed around your own product.
Hey exciting. I have a question. Suggestion, imagine using the Teleprompter in a live streaming scenario that will allow you to incorporate a Claudia 2.0 or a ChatGPT interaction in responding to live streaming scenario. For example, I am doing a live streaming and a person may ask a question and I input that question quickly into a ChatGPT discourse. and able to access response seamlessly
Very interested in this but curious on mounting options. Anyway to mount it to the top of my monitor? My monitor sits high on a vesa mount and a standard mounting arm would not reach. Does the prompter have a mounting hole on bottom for various adapters? Maybe something that would mount to my monitor?
If you make a foot pedal for the prompter It will literally change the entire video production space which I work in. Some news stations have foot pedals that allow them to use the pedal like a car gas pedal to go faster or slower controlled by the person on camera. If this was made as a hardware accessory I could use this with clients now.
Is there any chance to NOT get supported this on my windows 10 with a 3.0 USB port available? Do i need an integrated GPU insinde my CPU, do i need free ports on my rtx 3060? Or can i use this even when i already run 4 monitors? Does the software make this appear as a Monitor or do i need certain drivers? I really like the concept but im not sure if i get it running or limit myself in terms of other monitors (via my graphics card)
DisplayLink works a bit differently than a monitor plugged into your graphics card - it creates a virtual GPU of sorts that can be encoded by the CPU etc. So you should be fine with your setup.
I really would advise against hanging the prompter on the front of lens without any kind of support (another light stand or tripod) this can potentially mess up your lens over time (helicoids, inner barrel misalignment, break the filter thread, etc,)
Will Elgoto ever make a large 16" or 18" Prompter version? (I don't want the teleprompter I'd use so close to me & I like a bigger view screen for bigger text).
We're always looking into and considering new products or features - but unfortunately can't discuss unreleased products since there's no guarantees a product makes it to the finish line of development.
*_Hey there! I'm on the hunt for a teleprompter that can handle recording videos in vertical mode, perfect for TikTok or Instagram Reels. Any chance this teleprompter fits the bill?_*
You can record vertical content with Prompter. Here's an example of what a vertical Prompter setup looks like: x.com/FelippeNardi/status/1714352573992304909
Fun Fact: 2:49 he is mentioning vigneting with others products (In the video there is a 16mm Sigma lens), Elgato Prompter will only work from 20mm on WITHOUT Vigneting also xD
I would love help understanding the notes on my lens provided on the prompter compatibility. Specifically, what does it mean that the rong back plate is 'partially' compatible and it being too long with the 1/4 mount. (Sony a6400 with Sigma 16 mm 1.4) Ring Backplate Compatible -- Partial Universal Backplate Compatible - Yes Ring Adapter Size --67mm Verified By -- Community Note - Lens is to long to fit perfect with 1/4 mount with certain cameras.
I would buy this in a second if Elgato would offer software that automatically scrolls the teleprompter as you read the text. When you stop reading, the text stops, when you start reading again the text starts scrolling.
As cool as that sounds, there are many words that sound like others, as you have probably found with voice to text apps. I work for business meetings and performers who value a Teleprompter operator who discerns text nuances. However, Elgato seems to have given you controls (I use the foot switch for similar things)
I have the software on my ipad. Works perfectly. Footswitch or any switch for that matter can work but not as easy as voice recognition scrolling.@@psalms4us
Can this prompter accommodate a Sony FE 12-24mm F2.8 G Master Full-Frame lens ? Maybe without using the rings, but then how will the prompter attach to the camera, (and bonus question, how much is the camera going to overheat once we cover it with the little black blanket ?) 😛 Merci !
We have not tested this lens but due to how it has a built in hood/bulbous front element - while it looks like it would fit through the universal backplate so it could be used period - you would most likely need to zoom in to the 21-24mm end in order to not get vignetting.
@@elgatoThank you very much for taking the time to reply and figure it out. Yes it's a bit of an extreme lens indeed so I understand the limitations of course. Regarding the attachment of the prompter to the lens/camera, there shouldn't be any issue ? Thx !
Can I pull up a slide presentation or a PDF for a Zoom meeting and read a screen of text/script over top (with maybe a reduction in opacity) to read the script while delivering the presentation?

I really like the concept but im not sure if i get it running or limit myself in terms of other monitors (via my graphics card)
DisplayLink works a bit differently than a monitor plugged into your graphics card - it creates a virtual GPU of sorts that can be encoded by the CPU etc. So you should be fine with your setup.
Love the 3D printing marketplace for backplates.
Two questions: Will the Prompter work easily with a GoPro camera, and secondly, what are the dimensions of the mirror (beam splitter glass)?
I really would advise against hanging the prompter on the front of lens without any kind of support (another light stand or tripod) this can potentially mess up your lens over time (helicoids, inner barrel misalignment, break the filter thread, etc,)
Will Elgoto ever make a large 16" or 18" Prompter version? (I don't want the teleprompter I'd use so close to me & I like a bigger view screen for bigger text).
We're always looking into and considering new products or features - but unfortunately can't discuss unreleased products since there's no guarantees a product makes it to the finish line of development.
Can you do a video on how to manage twitch chat on the elgato prompter?
*_Hey there! I'm on the hunt for a teleprompter that can handle recording videos in vertical mode, perfect for TikTok or Instagram Reels. Any chance this teleprompter fits the bill?_*
You can record vertical content with Prompter. Here's an example of what a vertical Prompter setup looks like: x.com/FelippeNardi/status/1714352573992304909
This is great but where is the HDMI 2.1 capture card?
Does this work well with ecamm live? Can you drag the different windows on the prompter?
Fun Fact: 2:49 he is mentioning vigneting with others products (In the video there is a 16mm Sigma lens), Elgato Prompter will only work from 20mm on WITHOUT Vigneting also xD
I would love help understanding the notes on my lens provided on the prompter compatibility. Specifically, what does it mean that the rong back plate is 'partially' compatible and it being too long with the 1/4 mount. (Sony a6400 with Sigma 16 mm 1.4)
Ring Backplate Compatible -- Partial
Universal Backplate Compatible - Yes
Ring Adapter Size --67mm

Note - Lens is to long to fit perfect with 1/4 mount with certain cameras.
I think you'd find the vtt option more limiting. The foot switch might help you
I have the software on my ipad. Works perfectly. Footswitch or any switch for that matter can work but not as easy as voice recognition scrolling.@@psalms4us
PromptSmart Pro app does a great job. It's rare that it makes a mistake when I've used it. @@psalms4us
Now we just need a Elgato Prompter XL
can you guys make sure restream chat can be integrated into the app? If you say "yes" i'll pre order right now
My man just introduced the teleprompter, using a teleprompter.
Nice.
This channel has been powered by teleprompters for nearly a decade 😎
Will it attach to a Sony 24-70mm with a filter attached? I notice it slides over the front so guessing it wont work? Thinking for outside use
Thx !
I can't wait for this to be available for puchase. I'm less interested in the kickstarter, but super looking forward to the product.
This was available to purchase - it just sold out so quickly we're now taking backorders so people can save their place in line so to speak.
super appreciate that. And I'm looking forward to its availability - looks amazing!@@Steggy
Heya, when will this product be available in Mainland China?
When will this be available in Australia?
Please consider RUclips livestream chat integration 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Def on the list - this is just the V1 software we'll be adding a lot more!
Webcam 5:20. 6:11 facecam pro elgato. 7:20 mount 7:50 phone. 8:21 field of view.
Sheet music can listens to where the player is and tempo and scrolls the music.
Can I pull up a slide presentation or a PDF for a Zoom meeting and read a screen of text/script over top (with maybe a reduction in opacity) to read the script while delivering the presentation?
As always, a well designed product.
Glad you think so!
It doesn't seem like I can purchase it from Australia. Any help?
Hope one day you’ll crate also an XL Prompter. 🤞🏻🙏🏻👏🏻🤗
Can the Elgato Prompter work with the Elgato Ring Light?
