Hey man, 2 days ago bought my first gold sovereign which is my second gold coin up to date! Thank you for keeping the topic updated, allowing me to know about this exceptional value coin. Cheers!
So much has been said negatively about the new colour. I really like them. The copper really resembles vintage gold in a modern world. I think it really helps with distinguishing the memorial years from other sovs too. Lovely video.
Hi, thanks for your referral link to Bullion by Post. I just received my free silver Britannia today along with my bullion memorial sovereign. Nice little bonus!
Good video! 👍 I have just recently gotten some of the new 2023 Charles Sovereigns. I got the proof, and then I managed to locate one of the very scarce matte struck on the day of the coronation. I Fear, this is a slippery slope! 😂
Great video mate , I didn't realize that the two 2022 sovereign had different reverse designs until watching your video , I just ordered my memorial sovereign today
@@SovereignSaurus right on. Speaking of proofs, Ive been looking all over for someone with an unslabbed reverse proof silver Libertad and/or RP type 1 and type 2 Eagle that is down to make a win/win deal. Unfortunately the eBay prices are INSANE so I'll just keep putting the word out there and hopefully be able to add those to my stack one day.
Wow great you picked up so many. I hope you do a long video when you get the full date run so we can see them all. I'd love to see the lot & see the difference's 👍
I'm currently looking for about 12 dates that would be from 1875 to present day bullion sovs. I've quite a few duplicates and I've sovs dating to 1853 but I am missing quite a few young Victorian dates
Yes this is the bullion version. The proof design was revealed before the end of 2022 and people have been receiving them in the past week or two but I know some still waiting
I agree with you , and have always thought the 2022 platinum jubilee is a cleaner design , I'm wondering due to the high detail of the memorial , whether it may be worth getting the double as well ... but then , we will have the 2023 plus two new Tudor beasts coming this year... 🤔
I just got the BU version, my very first sovereign. Really nice design. I did know about the color beforehand, I just don't understand why they do them that way.
@@SovereignSaurusI got sidetracked, I did get this Sovereign a few months ago, it is of course 2022, and has Charles. Well, I've been getting 2023 King/Queen stuff. I ran into the 2022 Sovereign again, and ordered another one, forgot about the first. Really, no big deal, I just didn't remember any 2022 coins with Charles. Is this the only 2022 Charles, or are there other coins???
It's like the 2012 sovereign looks good as a proof but the design is lost on the bullion version. Good to see an example of the coins. I'm just wondering how long the memorial bullion sovereign will be available, it could be a short run to to his coronation. Don't know if you saw the jump in dealer premiums on the Jubilee bullion sovereigns the day the KCIII came out there was a noticeable bump in percentage. Possibly we could see the same if these are a short run.
Yes exactly... For a while I had no idea what I was looking at on the 2012 until I'd seen a picture of the proof. Yes I'd probably take some profits on the Platinum Jubilee ones if they go a bit silly
The 2012 bullion version would usually trade for a small amount more than other bullion years but not a huge difference. The 'intrinsic' value of a sov is about $468 so at 522 it would be just north of 10% premium... Not too bad if you like the design about similar to what dealers would charge in UK. From time to time they pop up a bit cheaper but you could wait a while
@@SovereignSaurus possibly but if so that'll just make it rare later in life lol, I've seen that a lot of Americans aren't a fan of Charles on the new Britannia's and apparently buy more expensive coins instead
Just ordered 4 of the 2022 Memorial, more a case of just keeping up with the date run rather than thinking its a great coin...does that make me a bad person??😡

Fantastic sounds good 👍🏼
Nice to see them side by side, I thought it was more yellow but it looks the same now seeing them side by side
Definitely not yellow like an older sov but glad it helps 👍🏼 Cheers mate
Great video 👍 👍 👍 Very very interesting thanks for making
No problem
Wonderful!!!
Many thanks!!

I'd be curious to see the special years from the last 20 in the old colour 🤔

Can’t wait to get mine

You're a Sovereign Stacking Maniac Dude 👍👍
🤣🤣 Might be around 200 of them now
@@SovereignSaurus Holy Crap 😱
They really are a beautiful coin. Congrats on your new additions my friend. Id love to have either of them in my stack.
Yes I'm sure the proof coins show it off even better, I may pick one up on the 2nd hand market we'll see

I agree the 2022 and bring back the Yellow sovereign i.e. silver instead of copper, Alex
That's the dream 🤞🏽
The memorial have been around for weeks.
But the price was high, but today it dropped.
Its very busy in design.
Only the proof version though, the bullion version of the memorial was only released this week.

There should be plenty of releases that's for sure. Another expensive year for anyone collecting the proof coins

I guess they need them to look different to the Britannia maybe they think rose gold is in these days 😬

Both Sov's look great in proof form, personally not too bothered in bullion format, would rather see George and Dragon.
I think you need the proof to truly appreciate the design yes

Great video , thanks! J. Btw personally, I think there’s too much happening on the memorial sov. Still a lovely coin though.
Load of spaghetti otherwise nice 🤣
Have to ask if it’s worth $522 USD for the 2012 Diamond Jubilee sovereign. Only year made I know. What’s your thoughts? Desired coin?
Cheers🥃

yup, looks too busy on the full sovereign bullion for sure. Still great addition to the stack 👍
Yeah don't mind having a few
Dude these are on offer at chards till the 15th and the markets just dipped a bit....
Some good prices about on these recently. I wonder if they were not as popular perhaps?

It is what it is... I don't mind having a few but prefer the older ones for sure
2005 sovereign was when Charles married Camila.
Is that the reason they made such a design? I've never yet managed to see an 'official' reason
