I don't understand the hate either. It's just a device to have fun with for now and will undoubtedly develop over time. I find it great and quick for detailed searches and like the fact that you can build on previous questions. Like you, I'd like more integrations (with Google account and/or Microsoft 365) but security has to be tackled first

If you follow along with their discord, you will see them discuss security concerns a bit more, they are quite active at disclosing and closing issues.

I’ve grown to love the R1 but I do question the longevity of this. Particularly with Apple AI and OpenAI’s latest offerings around the corner

I get what you are saying - I don't think it's the same kind of product. I think the fact that you are comparing a $200 device to a $1200 device speaks volumes to the value it holds.

@@angryroads 200$ is still cheaper than chat gpt monthly subscription for 10 month which will be 210$ with their 21$ monthly plan...or humane pin with 240$ for 10 month on top of their produtcts price.

Absolutely! I see some really great value for money on the r1. And if they keep going at this pace with updates, it will be even greater in value very quickly.
