House got to 84 today. I looked at the thermostat and there was no power. I noticed a red light on near the air handler. I grabbed my shop vac, went outside and sucked the condensate line out. It was filled with a clear gel like substance. 🤮 Found the float switch, cleaned it out, dried it out and waited 5 mins. BAM. I fixed it!!!

Instead of using simple plier you should use hub puller tool for removing blower and
You should keep pieces of metal pipes of different sizes to strike blower back on motor shaft ..

As I see you working on these sometimes very hot and potentially dangerous days have you considered a phase change vest and a 12v freezer chest for your truck? Each set of inserts that can be recharged by placing in a freezer for 20-30 minutes will last 1-3 hours depending on outside temperatures. Not sure how well this would work for you and the whole setup with buying the vest and extra inserts and a 12v freezer can be a bit pricey, but an electrician friend of mine swears by them for the summer months and he ended up buying them for his whole crew.

Also i clean both the inside coil and the outside coil at least once a year. (Sometimes 2x a year depending on the hurricanes/weather. Also I clean the little hamper wheel fan once a year with a soft toothbrush (being gentle). Helps keep the old ac cooling 🧊.

500 your cost, holy shit. Been a couple of years, last one I replaced was less then 200... Mine was a trane... is Bryant more expensive? Got mine through granger. Was a universal but working perfectly. Have to wire correctly for speed... Not an HVAC tech but not afraid to try. I like your work, not always telling your clients, have to replace the unit... Fix the issue or give the client the option. 😊

I just made the big move and bought the press tool, not cheap as you know lol but I was looking for fittings and the ones that I saw said Plumbing so I wanted to know if those were compatible with refrigerant, also I see that you use the filter dryers specifically made for press tools. Where do you get those as well.

Picture it like a glass with ice and a soft drink in it. In the summer it will be dripping with sweat. The ice/frost inside that air handler with nonfunctioning blower will cause the metal envelope to sweat lots when there is no blower motor. Once the system starts moving air again, the outside moisture will reduce, similar to an insulated cup.
