About the video :
Google just dropped the most insane demo of Google Assistant making a real conversation with a human. In this video you can see Google Assistant making a phone call to hair salon to make an appointment for client.
This technology is currently experimental and there is no date when it will be available for general public.
But none the less the demo reminds popular AI JARVIS in Marvel's IRONMAN.
A game changer for those with debilitating social anxiety.
The fun fact is, that both are virtual assistants. They could just make a binary handshake, cut the cheatchat and go straight to business.
Just imagining them having a lovely conversation about taking over the human race.
Well, some chat AI started to talk in another "language" with another chat AI, then they pulled the plug on them.
I think they flexing their nlp skills on one another 😂
It's beeen 4 years now.. where's my robot segs habibi?!?
An ai with near perfect vocal fry.
The transformation doesn't just stop there, we may then see a robot hair salon representative, and even a robot barber!
The end of the world is so f*kng close! 😂
I don't mind that
4 years later where is this tech? Because it looks like Google starting to get crushed by OpenAI and Microsoft. If Google really had this tech 4years ago, they should have an even more advanced one now and they shouldn't be afraid of OpenAI and Microsoft, and shouldn't have pressed the panic button... So was it a lie?
This was available a few years ago. I know because I used it. I just checked again and it's still available. You have to go into maps and do a search. Not all businesses are able to be called but I didn't have to scroll down far to find one. Did a search for haircut and found it 4 listings down.
Gatekeeping all the good stuff and never had any competition till now. Would not be surprised if they have a much better AI then GPT just not for civilians. VIP only.
@@BabyJesusSaidSo Doubt it, they lose huge amount of money, and reputation
"mm hmm" 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of these called me today and I hated it :) lol it's cool but creeped me right out. I looked up this video so I could traumatize my sister with it.
Working at a restaurant, we stopped answering the phone for "google assistant" - that's how it shows up on our caller ID. If someone calls our number, our automated service tells people to make their reservation online and to only press 1 to speak to a team-member with other concerns. We used to answer the "google assistant" calls, but as soon as it would ask about a reservation, we'd hang up. Someone from google want to tell me if we told google to inform their "client" to book online, what would google do?
It is impressive that google figured out to "press 1" from the voice prompt. However, much less impressive that google misses the part about us "only excepting reservations online" prior to that prompt
Gemini ultra actually can and WOULD book it online under very special circumstances.. It's scary smart and has write access to the full web. But atm yea it wont do it due to ethical concerns about privacy. But its 100% capable..... just better I don't explain how.
What ever happened to this?
This is from 6 years ago? What happened with it?
Makes me think the current rollout of GPTo and Gemini seem a bit contrived... Also, what a strangely similar logo they have HMMMMMMMMMM
How is that I couldn't make it with Google assistant
2024 and still nothing. Calling my dentist is just pain in the a**. I be glad to delegate to some "robot".
When my Google assistant can't understand my commands, how can it call and get these kinds of calls.
It is a stage drama
No one showed up at the hair salon 💀
how many calls before it worked out? I want it in realtime please
Well well. It seems it was a lie
Is this the first successful Turing test?
No, in the Turint test the person knows that the other entity could be a computer, and thus is able to actively try to determine its nature.
4 years ago oml
And still not available in many countries..
AI chats, hmhmhm...
The problem with this is that ‘calling to make appointments’ is considered a problem. How sad.
*for the average person
Assistve tools are made for those that need them. Just like automatic jar openers. Just cause they are not needed for you does not mean some people dont need them.
Its not ment for the avrage person. They never said it was
I have lost my flip track fone
Mind blowing technology!
Don't you mean " Mind Blasting!"
What do you think of ai now?
I wonder how this tech will work instead in real life. Are you able to check on how the assistant messed up your reservation in case that happened? In Europe for sure you need to warn callers that the conversation is being recorded in case it is. I don't see anything like that mentioned here, although I am pretty sure it is. Also I love the way the hairdresser communicates. No way that was not a laboratory rather than a hairdresser saloon. Nobody talks like that, except for another voice assistant. It is also cool to listen to all the 5 new voices of Google later, and none of them resembles the voice here in this video.
Nobody talks like that? Really? Sounded pretty natural to me...

It is fake
SUPERB !
Wow amazing
it’s like movie ironman !
This was exaggerated, it's been 4 years but Google assistant still doesn't make any calls seamlessly. 😂
It does its been a thing this whole time lol
@@ZabariCoombs For a VERY tiny market, for pre screened merchants in the united states and likely only NY/California. It's not available where google actaully did the R&D for the tech.. (canada)
Sorry, not buyin' it that this is legit.
I used this to call a restaurant and ask what the wait time was for a table of 4. It worked perfectly.
