    I’ve had the all-black version for the past year and it is my perfect bag. Hoping to keep it active for a lifetime.
    Helps that they’ll repair or re-wax for free if I ever need it but it’s holding beautifully.

    • @stonehill27
      @stonehill27 4 года назад +1

      You must rewax yourself. Buy their wax and rub it on fabric. Then heat with a hair dryer until wax is absorbed.

      @xeriscape8321 4 года назад +9

      stonehill27 if you live or are traveling to Europe and you have a Fjallraven store nearby, you can go into the store and they have waxing stations where employees of the store will add a wax coating right there in the store. I’m not sure if it’s a free service, (it should be),but it is available.

      Hi, I know you left this comment 3 years ago, but I was wondering if you are still using the bag and how it is holding up? Has the black colour faded or changed at all? How easily does it attract dirt/stains/hair and how easy is it to keep clean and smart? Thanks 😊

    • @Kayn123
      @Kayn123 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@youtubeuser1105 it definitely faded a lot with sun exposure and what not over time. It can get dirt but also cleans pretty easily I’d say. Although it still works great, I do use it less as I upgraded to a bag from Porter for a briefcase look. But it’s incredible and I’ll always keep it around I think

    They do specifically say not to put a laptop in the seat pad pocket, but everyone does it anyways.
    They've also come out with extra accessories to address some complaints, like a an internal organizer, add-on water bottle pocket, and attachable should pad straps, but they are fairly pricy.

    • @xtrash1ove
      @xtrash1ove 10 месяцев назад

      who does? What's the point in buying a laptop version then if you don't use a laptop pocket.

    • @milliet5733
      @milliet5733 3 месяца назад

      @@xtrash1oveThis is not a lap top version. The pocket is for the seat cushion. These are made for hiking in the wild, first and foremost. You can put a small laptop inside the pocket but then you can't have the seat cushion in there, which gives your back good support. And if you put your heavy laptop in the pocket you will wear the seams down. The fabric in there is not a tough one. My son just bought the 16 l original and was told to keep his laptop sleeve on and put it in the main compartment, which he does. But he is happy with his purchase.

    • @xtrash1ove
      @xtrash1ove 3 месяца назад

      @@milliet5733 i know it's not, I have both -- laptop 17'' and this Kankin 2. It's just that 17'' feels a bit too big for urban life sometimes.
      I wouldn't say wearing seams down is the critical problem, at least it's not something that emerges right away. From my experience the biggest issue that you experience immediatelly is that the thin padded compartment in No2 has no (or so it seems) padding at the bottom. This means if you swing your backpack and put it on a table/ground standing, a laptop will hit the hard surface.

    Sadly, you are wrong about water resistance. I am Swedish and have been in to our local shop and also been e-mailing to Fjällräven about water resistance. The original fairs pretty well in rain because of it basically being 100% "plastic" (vinylon). But this one is NOT made for rain at all. Fjällräven has told me to buy a rain cover for the bag if I buy the bag and intend to walk out in rain. The wax protects a little but not in down pour and when the wax is gone, you have to re-wax it which is not easy to do on a rucksack. In Sweden you can get it re-waxed for 400 SEK which is 1/4 of the initial price. But I am not sure if I want to add on to the price on a regular basis. Most of us don't want extra cost and hassle.
    So to undecided people out there: Fjällräven themselves have dissuaded me from buying this bag if I do not cover it with a rain cover. I was in love with the mesa purple one, but to cover that with a black or Swedish Flag Blue or pig pink coloured rain cover (which are the rain cover colours available from Fjällräven) totally defeats the purpose for me to pay 500 SEK extra for this bag, to get the mesa purple colour.
    And while we are on prices. Sweden is an expensive country. This price is no different from anything else here. This is ruck sack prices if you don't buy one at IKEA. So to compare the price to US prices is not fair. To you this is imported goods from a small European country. You buy in to the entire idea of Swedish nature and wildlife. And you get a taste of our economy.
    As for waterbottles. Fjällräven makes their own. They also sell an attachable pocket that you attach to the outside flat pockets. There is padding to buy for the shoulderstraps. Chest and waist straps can also be bought extra. So tons of extra paraphernalia to add on.
    I stood and held the mesa purple in my hand yesterday, but hung it back since I live in the south of Sweden, and it basically rains from September to May here. I don't want an ugly rain cover on my ruck sack.
