- "Way In My Brain (Remix)" is the main track on our 3rd E.P with XL Recordings which was released in December 1992 with Drumbeats, Aftershock and S.L.ECTRO. It reached No.26 in the Official Singles Chart on 13-12-1992.
Recorded at New Age Studio in Whetstone, North London.
Written, Produced & Mixed by Slipmatt & Lime

I actually re-recorded the sound digitally and replaced it exactly the same as the original audio...
I soooo want to relive the 90's again!

Slipmat is a legend! between SL2 and RatPack he's produced most of my fav ol'school classics, RESPECT.
An absolute classic tune and wonderful video . Even back then we knew this rave scene was special but we didn't realise how quickly D'NB and Jungle would swamp it to replace the unbelievably happy vibes with darker ones. I think most of us preferred happy...and still do.
This was the best version. I was 20 when this was out. I still love this track!!
This synth riff brings back good memories. One of the best songs on the old mix tapes.

Amazing piano on this. My favourite SL2 tune by miles. Stopped raving after 1988/89 for a bit (started again 1995!) but kept in touch with the sounds on the pirates and Kiss FM all through the hardcore era and this was also one of the big ones.

Except for the synthts this could be some wicked new jungle D&B tune. You guys and some other artists from XL records was way before time! I remember when young, here up north in the middle of Sweden, XL was the label, everything was fucking awesome, we had skiglasses on and danced at raves in filthy garages, those were the good old days!! FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, THANK YOU GUYS!!

this was one of the first tunes my brother bought when he got his first set of decks. and it made for an anthem for that whole summer. wicked stuff.

I swear I was in love with the straight haired dancer. Looking back at this I still may be! Brilliant tune.

Love it. I used to go ravin and dance like a man possessed and people would ask for some of what I was on! Suffice it to say natural high for me but each to their own so respect. Can't believe i used to dance for 4 or 5 hours at a time, guess thats what being 20 is about

I first heard this in a 94 remix and had to rewind a few times. puts a smile on my face.
1989-2009 the best years of music IMO (drum'n'bass/jungle, acid house, electro etc) hopefully some goo artists will get good recognition over the next couple of years and not people who just do it for money (cough cough popstars cough)

i remember you from my first ever rave,energy in cambridge and i actually bought the mix tape of your set and i used to go to every raindance at jenkins lane from then on,as i live in tottenham i used to go to the ritzt aswell,i would like to thank you for giving me a very happy teenage life,i also ended up working at raindance selling icepoles but i used to get out of it so i gave most of them away

Top tune...Many fondest times in the 90's with this fine track...Absolutely played this one to death too! Vinyl always sounded way better than Cds...But the carry cases lol. Djing in th 90's ....best times of my life...And was never the "real deal" unless XL recordings was in the flight case. Neil'11.

i got a dj slipmatt tape in about1998 from I.M.E. counterpoint in malvern. It got stuck i the cassete deck of my mums pugeot 309 car stereo, so unless we sat in silence we were listening to dj slipmatt. I dont think she liked it as much as I did.
