    You should do this a year after they've been used, so we can see how the the extra features on the Shark no longer work and it has half the suction it did when it was new.

    Have the Shark and really don’t like it.
    If you use any attachment the hover falls over, it fell and damaged my furniture within hours of using it.
    It’s really heavy and awkward to hover around the house with. It will a stick and lift repeatedly so you find your self pushing like crazy without it moving then it slamming into the wall.
    The attachments and chunky and low quality
    The hose is far too short
    The wheels pick up dust then drop them behind you so when you put the hover away there are bits all over the floor in a trail
    The power switch on the handle starts to become less sensitive after a few months so you have to click it 4-8 times for it to switch off
    None of the attachments other than the base are useful. Unless you are at the perfect angle they don’t suck up anything
    Hover loves falling into you or furniture and is very unstable
    Dust gets stuck at the very top of the container so you have to constantly stick your hands in to pull it out, doesn’t just fall out like a Dyson
    Only redeeming thing is, it’s ok with carpets

    I can completely take apart my Dyson Outsize+ for maintenance and restore it's performance as it was on day 1 while with Shark it's designed to not be taken apart so it's not as reliable or durable even when negating it's performance and the motor burns out on Shark and you have to buy the whole thing again instead of just one part.

    • @shineyrow
      @shineyrow Год назад

    • @sideeyes7480

      That’s exactly why I made the switch from shark vertex to dyson. My vertex is a brick, because I can’t get parts and it’s a pain to take apart. Ease of repair needs to be factored into the score. Sure the vertex is great, until it’s not.

    • @reaperreaper5098

      @@shineyrowYes, but not really. The floor head is not easy to take apart if you’re trying to clean the powerfins bar, which shouldn’t be necessary for most people.

    Here's the test I wish you would do: Please go home and vacuum your carpet. Pull out of the canister whatever is collected, and bring it to your lab. Take the vacuumed-up stuff, weigh it, and then sprinkle it all over your lab test carpet. Next, have your entire staff...as well as a few strangers...walk all over those carpets, preferably wearing shoes...and grind that vacuumed-up stuff into the carpet. Then run your test vacuums over that carpet and see how much of the vacuumed-up stuff gets pulled back out. I find rows of Cheerios (etc.) on hard surfaces to be about as reflective of what I might actually vacuum as Consumer Reports flushing golf balls down toilets to mimic whatever might come out of a person's intestines. In fact, I don't care how uprights do on hard surfaces because that's why God invented Roomba (and similar) vacuums. Cheers!!!

    • @Jack_80
      @Jack_80 9 месяцев назад

      vacuum wars channel does tests where they pour sand all over the carpet and use a heavy metal roller to grind it as deep into the carpet as possible.
      based on the tests i've seen both of these vacuums would likely get all of that sand out.

    Don't listen to this video! The Dyson is better in every way, let me talk about it so people hopefully don't get fooled into purchasing a Shark. First of all, the Shark does not deep clean well, it will surface clean so your carpets will look fine but will eventually get matted down after and destroyed after a short while. The reason It fails to clean is because something Shark calls "PowerFins" which is just where they removed the bristles on the brushroll to replace them with useless rubber strips which don't dig and separate fibers properly, also with "Duo Clean" you don't get a good seal to the floor so the head sits to high. Next, the Shark uses what is called a single cyclone which means that your filters will clog very quickly and possibly let stuff into the motor. The cyclone is also deliberately designed to let more stuff in the filters as Shark wants the machine to fail. The machine is also very heavy in the hand as you are holding the whole weight of the motor in your hands while vacuuming. The hose is very stiff and short, so you get little reach. And perhaps the biggest issue is the Shark is a safety hazard, the switch is known for throwing sparks out which could cause you to shock yourself and short out the whole vacuum. Also, on the Shark you will not get much help from the company as the warrantee only covers the suction motor! If anything else, like the powerhead or any other part breaks you have to buy it which will be expensive and difficult since Shark makes it hard to find and replace parts, and assuming your suction motor dies, and is replaced, and dies again while the machine should still be within warrantee, they will not replace it as you can only use it once even when the unit should still be covered.
    As for the Dyson, buy that! It is actually a great machine. It deep cleans really well, getting all the hair, fine dust, grit, and everything else that will ruin your carpets right out, the strong suction allows the head to actually stick to the floor allowing the brush to dig and clean well with its actual bristles. The Dyson uses a very advanced cyclonic design which allows you to only need to wash your filters once in a great while, and the machine should take very long to clog up even if you skip a few washes. The Dyson is lighter weight in the hand because the motor in on the ground when vacuuming so that weight is evenly distributed. The hose on the Dyson is nice and long, about 15 feet compared to the 5 feet from the Shark, and it has a much nicer tool set than any Shark. The Dyson IS NOT a safety hazard like the Shark so you can feel safe using it. Dyson will honor their warrantee and replace anything that breaks other than items like filters and brushrolls under warrantee, and if it breaks again and the unit is still under warrantee they will do it again. And Dyson makes all parts easy to find and replace in case something breaks outside of the warrantee.
    So please, for your sake, buy the Dyson over ANY Shark, or even buy a $60 Bissell over the Shark!
