  • After a decade of trying everything on the market, I finally discovered a wheel cleaner that actually works without using a brush.

Looks like it worked incredibly well. Chem-X offers a new Touchless System also but it's pricey. The cool thing about the Chem-X system is that the touchless works on your entire vehicle. It's an acidic wash, immediately followed by a high PH wash. There is also a new fall out remover wash from P&S called Crystal Wash which you spray on, allow to "crystalize" for 15 minutes or so and then pressure rinse off the paint taking away the rail dust, fallout, and embedded contaminants. Crystal wash is not that well known in detailing but it's a good product.

This video randomly popped up on my feed, but yeah apparently Meguiar's doesn't make this anymore. I read that regulations made it hard to ship. I will mention Poorboy's World Spray & Rinse Wheel Cleaner works extremely well at cleaning this type of build up. One really nice feature is it is slightly more viscous and clings to the wheel surface. Spray on one wheel go to the next and by the time you finish, you can start rinsing off the first wheel and so on.

Great video! Wheel Brightener is a great product and is a top choice. However I am using Wire Wheel Cleaner by Superior which is typically does a better job.

There’s no need for a touch less cleaner just do the bare minimum and your lungs will thank you later

Technically ceramic coat your wheels and it will come out easily

So torn on this product...the price point just makes zero sense to me. Like you said, wheel cleaning can take a TON of time. Logically speaking, because no-touch wheel cleaners are extremely uncommon and would make detailers MUCH more efficient, you'd think Wheel Brightener would be priced as a premium product...and yet it's one of the cheapest wheel cleaners on the market. Makes me think Meguiar's has a tough time selling it due to the dangers it poses

@@extrabolts that's awesome man. I too did a test using rims from the junkyard with some seriously embedded brake dust. Unfortunately, wheel brightener was the only thing that touched it after one pass

Wheel Brightener is an acid cleaner but it can be used safely by the typical pro or prosumer. But isn’t for all wheels and can damage some high end wheels.
The safest and easiest product I have found is Dark Fury by superior products. It’s the best non-acid cleaner. For acid cleaner I like Wire Wheel Cleaner also by superior.

@@richb2229 yep, very familiar with Wheel Brightener for better or worse. After a quick look at the SDS sheet, Dark Fury looks no safer for me or the environment that Wheel Brightener. Also, the fact that it's cheaper than Wheel Brigthener, which is already a very cheap product, makes me very skeptical that quality ingredients are being used
