Never played this game before and 6:00 was hilarious for some reason lol
MW 2 ;)
AFGuidesHD why are you using the sniper rifle when your taking out the German officers at the red square
AFGuidesHD why your not using the sniper rifle?
Lmao his ass was squatting
Wait is this like cod finest hour it got the same music and missions but a little different
I remember playing this mission as kid and waiting in line for a weapon like " I hope I get a gun "
I always remember trying to pick up a gun from a dead soldier who received a gun. However the guns always just disappeared lol
LMFAO SAME, i always had to reset the mission to have a freaking damn mosin nagatan...
Dude same I would watch when they gave out amo than gun than amo and I would always jump in after amo but would get amo still
Same dude but this is when call of duty was awesome
Beh The llama you got that right
That moment when you’re weapon is some Mosin Nagant ammo. Glorious. You don’t see this kind of savagery in CoD anymore.
Same happened in Finest Hour I believe, but the game is practically CoD1 for the consoles.
Juan de los Muertos I don’t think it actually happened in real life tho lol

@Shoegame Crazy not at Stalingrad. By then the Red Army was well equipped to fight the Germans.
@@xdguy2569 yes this did happen during WWII.
Life as a commissar:
Friendly Fire Tolerated
Friendly Fire Tolerated
Friendly Fire Tolerated
I just realized that the commissar in the ruined building was Soviet, sitting there to execute any "retreaters." I always thought it was a German for whatever reason
I was like 10 when I played it
Enemy fire not tolerated

Real one: You are a traitor in the motherland
@@benb9151 ikr
I like how the Commissar fires at those who deserted the boat, but also gets killed in the explosion when they reached the docks. What goes around comes around
Also, the fact that Sgt Borodin actually decided to help you and save you from another commissar that was about to shoot you for retreating is awesome. Shows that the rules are meant to be broken
This really needs to be remastered!
John Casenas World at War style at least!
With no-sprint and health bar system. I really miss the old days of CoD.
John Casenas 2003: máster piece.
2017: Fuck
CoD finest hour has similar missions, especially for this particular one, it's almost identical to the first mission in Cod finest hour, "not one step back "
It's already done Call off duty ww2
Sgt. Borodin was a huge sigh of relief to me as a kid
He led you through your first hours of combat :)
Sgt. Borodin just shooting the commissar was the best part of this mission.
Ikr
I wouldn't be surprised if that really happened.
So... this sgt is a traitor of the motherland
@@sonictrouble4321it still had to be done for the motherland tho
@@ausis6214commissars that acted like the movies and propaganda didn't exist. But they 100 percent would be "removed" by the NKVD if they did.
I replayed this mission maybe hundred of times. this game at the time was so epic. it made me feel like I am part of huge battle not like I'm the one rembo soldier taking everything out in my way.
Thought I was the only one who felt that lmao
Totally... All games up until this point were rambo shooters. I loved having comrades in arms.
Rambo igi 😎
Same it’s so good and immersive
That is exactly what made COD 1, 2 and World at war so good.
7:44 that moment always gave me goosebumps and made me proud when I was I 11 years old boy. Because I imagined that I fight alongside my great grandfather who took part in Stalingrad battle
@srid[aka] yes, he fought and went through the war, came to Berlin.
@srid[aka] actually now we have a new Stalingrad in Mariupol(I’m from Ukraine). And now war with another fascists
@@ALMA-pic hope Ukraine gonna win it like Soviets in the movie.
@@deucemoore5645 i think he means that ukrainians are modern fascists.
@@PaladineAvenger1 i don't care, i still hope for Ukrainians :)
That part when the first real soviet soldier you encounter tells you to help him, the said you how he would shot the commissar so both of you could get safe and advance... damn.
When I played that as a teenager I thought it was the most savage thing I ever saw on a videogame. This game needs a remaster.
Yeah that's really curious to see this action
Sgt. Borodin is a true G for wasting that commisar

Hey now! At least they didn't give them water pistols or firecrackers
Bruh 5 shots
@@k.a.monsang8332 bullets are bullets, but at least they still managed to take back Stalingrad
the thing is that ACTUALLY happened.
@@Gadget-Walkmen It was far worse, can you imagine that soviet soldiers had 1 tank for 4 people! Seriously tho, the soviet campaign is epic, but is flooded with stereotypes and misconceptions. None of those things actually happened, commisars didn't shoot the retreating forces and people weren't ordered to just run at the machinegun unarmed.
After watching this, I think Spielberg should get started already on a Stalingard movie!
watch enemy at the gates
@ExaktNR1This already isn't particularily historically accurate, so that's hardly news
@Dabbel der Frosch -_- On your knees clown!
this scene was inspired by the opening of Enemy at the Gates movie. Go watch it! It's an amazing sniper battle movie!

More action packed than most games today, no bs story, just clean ww2 action
LOL screw off with that, The stories are what makes it come all alive! There is no "bs" story in call of duty nowadays.

@@therealboomshlamian700 LOL That's not true either, you can have a fantastic game with no story at all and you can have a not so great story in a incredible game, your reasoning isn't vaild at all.
This is probably the most intense mission in COD history. This is so much better than the new games.
Humanity's Strongest Soldier The missions on Peleliu in WaW when you have to burn the Japanese out of their holes with a flamethrower are pretty gnarly
Finest Hour's stalingrad was insane
I have played only till MW3 and I'm pretty sure there are many more intense missions than that, specially in WaW, Cod2, MW2, Black Ops.
But this is still one of the best missions of the entire franchise, I think its not so intense as others because the limitations of the time it was launched, like it could have been more enemies idk.
Yes, wonderful mission.
at around 12 minutes there was a sniper rifle on the floor right by the window you were shooting at, very useful during the mission
True. Is more easy and the right and fast way
4:53 everyone gangsta till the Germans fly planes like that

Like fr, sure the soviet's were extremely motivated to fight, but with better tactics and not just send them to die in waves, the numbers lost could of been lower
@@Plab1402 lol how should they fight then ?? Sacrifice should be made , they did not die in vain , every drop of blood had given time for the soldiers to find a alternative way to fight the germans ,even a mili second distraction was enough , thats how they fought . This was my childhood, this game started my love for call of duty
This look like the Soviet D Day
Everyday for Soviet conscripts was worse than D-Day.
D-Day was just wakl in pretty garden compare to soviet every battle...
el.KA true, but don’t minimize the allies. They basically destroyed Germany’s industrial might.
Time Frame yes still low. But the soviets would have lost many more soldiers.
Nah, the D-Day's equivalent was Operation Bagration
Lmao stalins order not one step backwards, the SGT with the sniper is literally like, “We’ll be safer there, don’t worry I’ll take care of that commissar *fires* “
3:30 that sound came back COD:MW 2019

@@fongsaiuke fr lol

God, the bravery of the men who really did this, I really don't know how those souls must have felt in such terrible circumstances.
Yes, when I played COD 1 I imagined to be in the soviet protagonist role and it was very scary. Few rifles and ammo, very brutal enemies, mass assaults againts modern machine guns, and commisars shooting at your back if you try to retreat... We are very lucky to not live in such horrible period...
@@bianc5596 I was very young at the time, possible not even 10 years old, so didn't really understand or appreciate it, as I have grown older and seen this by chance on a recommendation it reminded me of playing it and watched. The soundtrack is incredible and really builds the tention. It genuinely upsets me the huge loss of life from all sides. Heil to every brave soul. And what a heartless bastard Stalin was.
@@seanhuds229 The thing is, that didn't actually happened, soviet army had enough weapons for most of the soldiers, people weren't ordered to run at the machineguns unarmed, since soviet army didn't had enough men to fight (Soviet Army had less people than german army, so suicide charges were not practiced.) This whole "heartless bastard Stalin" thing is just a scene from a videogame that has nothing to do with real life battle for Stalingrad.

This game was amazing back in the day. So immersive!
9:08 there is where viktor reznov and dimitri petrenko meet in vendetta(cod waw), there is a soldier named makarov to(possible not the same), and its really nice how they take inspiration on enemy at the gates
8:46 looks hilarious with the old running animation 😂
To duck the flying bullets above their head
i like how you have to SEE where the grenade went whoever added the indicator was not very smart. if you can't see it then blow up like your supposed to
The modern Call of duty with all its shiny and specatuclar graphics cant recreate the authenticity and horrific feeling of war that this game did. All the AI and partice effects going on not to mention actual GAMEPLAY. Except from a little direction point in the compass there is no floating arrow telling you excacly where to go or what to do and no press the button to continue cutscene. You are actually playing the game, trying to survie and thats what made it so intence. Cod 2 and World at war also did a great job. Modern developers have a lot to learn from older games:)

Watch as games evolve into a cinematic storytelling medium before your eyes, they never took one step backwards from here.
Arguably the scripted stuff went too far in the following decade, but for this first stretch games like this, MOHAA, MW 1+2, Halo 2, and Half Life 2 were really really stunning.

I know the Soviets were brutal and merciless to each other, but would it honestly kill the game devs to make these battles historically accurate? They didn't just gun down anyone who panicked. That's a waste of both lives and ammo, and the Soviets were short on resources in this war.
Exactly. Could you imagine if in every mission you actually had to send in just as many officers as enlisted men just to stand back behind them ready to shoot them if they fall back. It would be an utter waste. Would they punish deserters severely? Hell yes, but that's when they caught them later. After all they know who you are and where you are from and at this time almost all able bodied men are in the war effort to some capacity. You couldn't exactly just roll up to next village and ask for a job somewhere.
Just imagine all these soviet troops die just to protect one city. Millions and millions died in that battle
As a cod ww2 player i consider this game to be remastered.
