    When I was building my snowboard I tried to also use my own 3D printed tracks. It didn’t work at all but I found a sand dirt bike tire and that has been working perfectly. I really recommend using a tire like that. :D

      I just need to keep iterating. Different materials, strengthen the area of breakage, etc

    Not sure if you've thought of this, but adding a small hard Brisel brush (scrub brush) to board by the wheel where your yellow bracket is so as the wheel spins, it brushes off the snow that has gotten stuck to the wheel. Maybe will help with the packing snow issue. Good luck brother

      It might work, definitely an interesting mod to consider

    Maybe CNC machined virgin UHMW for the wheel, that's a cool project!

      Cheap and easy to cook on trail; but not the most nutritional backpacking food!

      Yeah! It's not quite ready for prime time distance, but it's good to keep pushing to see what it can do

    Loved the video. Quick tip: You don't need so much gear for such an activity, man! It's really messing with the efficiency of the board, as being a heavier guy already does. Keep it up cant wait to see what you cook next!

      @@MikeInTheWoods I’m sure you’re always buzzing with ideas. That’s the inner engineer talking. In sandbox mode I’m making that tread out of carbon fiber with an offset tooth design like a checker board of studs.

    Would changing it to FWD make a difference? It worked for cars...

    • @MikeInTheWoods
      @MikeInTheWoods  7 месяцев назад +1

      Nope. Once you're accelerating, your weight shifts to the rear anyways.
      Though I am toying with the idea of a 2WD for the next iteration...
