I have noticed that this also changes the angle in which the club interacts with the ground. My old ‘in the Palm’ grip would have the toe of the sole hitting the turf heavier. Now I use this grip I no longer have that problem.
One of the best golf videos on YT VERYYYYY underrated also when having this strong grip it also tends to keep your left arm straighter during backswing
Great Video! Apologies for butting in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Paneevelyn Swinging Clubsman (search on google)? It is a great one of a kind guide for revealing an effortless golf swing technique without the hard work. Ive heard some great things about it and my buddy at last got amazing success with it.

Kudos for the Video clip! Excuse me for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you considered - Paneevelyn Swinging Clubsman (just google it)? It is an awesome one off guide for revealing an effortless golf swing technique minus the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate got excellent results with it.
Love the tips and help but I just watched the video you did of grip it like Arnie and in that one you showed a different way of gripping where the where the thumb and finger are even and the sequence of wrapping the hand around was different. Both are good but is there one betyer than the other or judge by feel? Thanks
Good video! Found out I was gripping my club wrong, so that it made my wrist cupped at the top of my swing, which changed the clubface. Had it over too strong...
Any thoughts on 10 finger grip? Teaching my wife to golf now. Saw she was holding the club 10 finger grip style. I razed her a little bit and then tried it myself...... I have never hit the ball with more consistency and straightness in my entire life. Will be trying it on the course this weekend. Feel like everything I’ve ever known is wrong!
I been using interlock and same as you I been swinging with 10 finger grip and I feel more comfortable confident and shots are straight and controlled. I don’t know why it’s not as popular
I watched another video that said to use the short thumb. So who is right. I figured it out. Just grip it and rip it. What ever feels right to you. Just have fun!
Hey Michael. When I grip the club I get a gap in between the middle of my lead hand and the grip where I can stick a thumb in that spot where the gap is. I just tried the fingers, Pad then Thumb process and still have the issue. Could I be using the wrong size grip or is it just me and my OCD/ Anxiety. Need your advice
He missed talking about the right hand and how the left fits into it. I put my left thumb to fit below my right thumb pad or what they call the lifeline.
Nope, disagree with Breed's method. Thumb of top hand should be on the side of the grip in the 10 o'clock (or 10:30) position for more solid support while enabling a much more powerful release to get more distance. I've tried it both ways. My way is much better!
@Jeremy. "The way of the past" lets me hit my 4-iron off the deck higher and farther than many of you bigger/taller weekend hackers can hit driver off the tee. My way is much better!
I'm not sure how shortening the lever and giving the wrist joint slightly less motion improves distance. From a physics perspective, it would detract from the potential power of your swing. Hogan hit a million balls and went close to mastering the swing, he dismissed the idea of the long left thumb, with good reason.
I f'd around and broke a finger nail holding the club wrong during a shot. A whole nail of my middle finger almost came out. Can't use my middle finger until the nail heals
So if he can hit these 200 + yards; tgen does tgat mean he has no use for hybrids or wood. May a 3 iron wood if ge wants to destroy it, and toss the driver at recycling?❓❔🙀😁
Hang on so this guy obviously is gripping wrong but teaching us how to properly grip? Because he said this grip gives you more power and leverage and he said his average shot w that club is like 185 and he hit it 193😂
hey ,if anyone else is searching for how to improve your drive in golf try Magonsi Amazing Golf Expert (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my colleague got great results with it.
watched this video, changed my game for the better instantly. Thank You!

Fingers-pad-thumb is a great idea!
Especially in the blowhole
YOU always have the best tips ty , local pro just give you the hoopla to keep getting your cash i learn ALOT more by watching your vids
What a strike! I think even he was a bit surprised how well he hit it.
One of the best golf videos on YT VERYYYYY underrated also when having this strong grip it also tends to keep your left arm straighter during backswing
josh colbert I noticed this too
That’s a good swing! So much power.
So typically he hits a 180 6 iron, but with the correct grip he hit it 193. So Michael Breed just now started using the correct grip during this vid?

alright. bout to go out and try it out
update: went better but still having trouble lining up feet so that ball goes where I want
I wished I loved anything in the world as much as golf teachers love saying the word “perpendicular”.

You are welcome.
Semi helpful if you're only concerned about the left hand. Most people I know put two hands on the golf club.
What about the other hand though?
Good video! Found out I was gripping my club wrong, so that it made my wrist cupped at the top of my swing, which changed the clubface. Had it over too strong...

Cranni3333; I know a guy who we sometimes golfed with who was a 5 handicap who used 10 finger baseball grip.
I watched another video that said to use the short thumb. So who is right. I figured it out. Just grip it and rip it. What ever feels right to you. Just have fun!
I grip baseball grip it feels when I interlock I don't have as much control but maybe that's the idea.
Just a reminder , you have 2 hands. He doesn’t tell what to do with the right hand

I think I’ve been short thumbing it 😳. Thanks mike!
That's what she said too
Why did you not address trail hand
He missed talking about the right hand and how the left fits into it. I put my left thumb to fit below my right thumb pad or what they call the lifeline.
How did it go so far if it hit the net? I'm so confused
Nope, disagree with Breed's method. Thumb of top hand should be on the side of the grip in the 10 o'clock (or 10:30) position for more solid support while enabling a much more powerful release to get more distance. I've tried it both ways. My way is much better!

@Jeremy.

Ahhhhh the RUclips golfer. Lol “ I hit my ball further than... blah blah blah! “10 o’clock or 10:30”?!? Is that AM or PM?! Lol
The guy just hit his 6 iron 193 dead straight you moron
The amount of conflicting golf information on YT is driving me insane
Best tip
But how do you get the proper position of the club doing it that way. The head could be cocked sideways and you did not address that.
GOLF TIPS - Learn the Golf Neutral Grip position with this short Golf tutorial video ruclips.net/video/5enasTwx3XE/видео.html
Good video and so long as you grip your left hand gently it works a treat , too tight and lose straightness and start duck hooking
Didn’t hogan teach short thumb?
What about the right hand???
I was thinking the same
I'm not sure how shortening the lever and giving the wrist joint slightly less motion improves distance. From a physics perspective, it would detract from the potential power of your swing. Hogan hit a million balls and went close to mastering the swing, he dismissed the idea of the long left thumb, with good reason.
A long thumb gives more range of motion, you've got it backwards.
I f'd around and broke a finger nail holding the club wrong during a shot.
A whole nail of my middle finger almost came out.
Can't use my middle finger until the nail heals
I thought Ben hogan said you need a short thumb
He did. I'm not a fan of this tip either.
Does he interlock the fingers
No, he overlaps.
So if he can hit these 200 + yards; tgen does tgat mean he has no use for hybrids or wood. May a 3 iron wood if ge wants to destroy it, and toss the driver at recycling?❓❔🙀😁
super
I was taught short thumb
can i send in a vid of my swing so you can analyze it for youtbe or tv?
for free?....lol
Does he interlock his index and pinky finger?
U can't email what u do with the left hand and not explain how to grip it with the left hand...
That was not a 193 6 iron strike. 😅c'mon man. Was it down hill ?
A bad pro will change your grip throwing the whole swing out
salut marlou jazz
I find myself here once again
Hogan dismissed the long thumb!. This man tried everything and hit balls forever...
This doesn't explain how this grip connects to a square face 😐
Lol no way that how far he hits his six
Roll the thumb up the shaft.... hmmmm
"a little bit more"
I hit my 7 iron in the 180-190 range and it has a very weak loft! It’s 34 Degrees
Good for you
Profesor of the year, but sont mention the right hand;
I guess his students only use the left hand to play😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He just told on himself. 😂
No such thing in golf as the right grip. All bs. I play off a 5 handicap and use weak baseball grip.
Eric Pietrondi true to an extent but everyone has a grip that’s perfect or “right” for them
True but theses people try to teach you one way and do it this way only.
Eric Pietrondi yeah golf mechanics are so individualized that I found more help from lessons than watching videos and reading articles
Maybe be you could be +5?
I would suggest adding the right hand to your lecture. We don't swing with just one hand, so…
Hang on so this guy obviously is gripping wrong but teaching us how to properly grip? Because he said this grip gives you more power and leverage and he said his average shot w that club is like 185 and he hit it 193😂
Other hand?
Oh just do anything you like with that 🤷♂️🤦🤣
Long thumb also causes loss of control.
So your essentially teaching people to get more distance but play shittier golf. Nice
I think he assumes you can think for yourself, and it MAY work for your swing. If you're an idiot, nothing will help.
Doesn’t show how to grip club just thumb top
GAWF
Wow lol couldn’t disagree with this more.
you only showed one hand lol
Consistency is more important than distance weirdo
Take a breather mate jesus
maybe the most useless video i’ve ever seen
What a load of bollocks
