If you put them down, they won’t be a dust & dirt & dead bug collector!
Your bathroom looks amazing!!!!oh by the way. I am going to make crochet some of your shawls. I need the patterns. So cozy. Thanks
Please do! Enjoy xx
You will be the making of this house and it will be the making of you! So happy to see the joy it is bringing you. x
Absolutely! Oh that light is beautiful. So nice it will be in your vestibule.
Jayne, you're hitting home runs! The creative freedom you have in revitalizing and revisioning your new home is mesmerizing to watch. You're a gifted human with exquisite taste.
EVERYTHING is SO VERY PRETTY! I am SO happy for you! I too am a widow (7 yrs now) and it has been amazing to see ALL the little things (and some big things) that God has done for me! Things just like that light fixture you got! (which is SO beautiful) Psalm 37:4 says, ‘Delight yourself in the Lord; And HE will give you the desires of thine heart.’ ❤
Thank you so much!!
What a Blessing your home is to you now. Fantastic idea of toning down the gold & painting the light shades. They turned out great. What a beautiful light fixture you were given.
Thank you so much!
Those upcycled lights turned out so perfect. They look amazing and thank you so much for showing your process. I hope that make you smile every time you see them on the wall. Handmade or upcycled things are so much nicer than factory new items. The gifted light is absolutely amazing, really beautiful.
I love how you are making everything in your house something you love. And the light you were gifted is beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Just love your adventure redoing this wonderful old townhouse.
Glad you enjoyed it
Your son is amazing with all of his help. As a widow of 10 years I am blessed to have a son like that, too.
Jayne, you are doing a wonderful thing for yourself & you look so happy. I have always loved Roses & a Comphy Cottage feel. That is how I've done our older home here in a small Texas town. There is something that I have done & thought I would share.... I have bought all size of Candles that have timers & only take 1 or 2 small batteries (rechargable batteries from Amazon w charger) & put them in the restrooms, kitchen, front windows, bedroom & even to the Nursing Home where my twin sister is...to make her room Cosy too. If you will just turn globes the other way & have the Flicker Light a Lil over top of globe, it will look like Candle Light just as it was long ago. You choose the time for off & on. ⚘️Sharol
Your gifted light is amazing, love what you done with the wall lights by distressing them... Gorgeous... love your video's Jane so inspirational x x x
Thank you so much!
I like the milk glass on the globes but not the dirty final look. That are hard to see on the wallpaper. the gifted light is extraordinary and will be a great addition.
The place is coming along. Love the final bathroom look. 🥀🌻💮
A joy to watch. I'm new to your channel, but must say that watching you transform your new home is comforting to me. Almost identical foot print to my late fathers home in York, expect for a huge bay window upstairs in the bedroom. The house was untouched from the 60/70's. Painstakingly restored to it's former glory a labour of love and not easy with a period property. Replicating the high skirting we had to enlist the help bespoke joiner, it took us 6 years. Thank you for sharing. 🐞🌻🌱
So pleased you hung the lights downwards - the correct position! :-)
Just gorgeous you have done a great job looking forward to many more updates thank you😊😊😊
Thank you! 😊
What a match with the mirror frame, Jayne. You are so creative.
Jayne, you did a fantastic job on the lights. I have a similar situation in my house and I purchased rechargeable puck light. They come with a little magnet plate that you can adhere to where the bulb would screw in and when you need to charge the puck, it is easily removed. It also came with a remote. Very bright and no one would know it is not wired in.
Thank you so much I will definitely check them out xxx
Everyone has an opinion! 😂 I’m only a few minutes into your vlog and I vote “down” for the light shades so the dust doesn’t collect 🙂
If you place the lights facing up you could put a tea light in them
What a brilliant idea! Or one of those wireless led flickering candles.
Such a beautiful transformation…..you are very obviously pleased as you should be ….hard work paying off…,a.what a lovely son…to be such a wonderful help…
Thank you so much!
I like the little lamps facing down best!
Love the light for the vestibule. You are indeed a lucky girl. Loved my big bathroom in my old terrace house. It's all coming together Jayne. 😊🤗
Yes! Thank you!
Hello
Loving every thing. Have the lights up then you could put tea lights in them for an effective ambience Just a thought. I do that with an old oil lamp I have. 🌸
Thanks for the tip!
I’ve got similar shades on my lamp fitting, but it had flowers on. What we did was stipple the paint onto the glass on the outside, it covered the flowers and gave it a softer look than just straight painting.
It so wonderful that your Son is so willing to help you. I’ve got lots of Sons and a husband, but I very rarely get help with my projects from them…but I know they are so busy in there own lives and families so I hold no grudge against them …I love and adore each one. I too find so much joy in making my house a home…it’s the harvest season here in America so I’m busy bottling and drying my garden … I can hardly wait to get that done and start on my bathroom. I was so blessed 8 years ago to find original 1930’-40’s wallpaper rolls unused on E-Bay… gorgeous swans with big beautiful blooms of gladiolus.. my home is older as well and I want to keep it that way and honor the history/era of when it was built….I’ve waited 8 years to hang this and by dandy it’s getting done before this year is over. I’m so excited I can hardly stand it🤗 your bathroom turned out so beautifully ..I’m so happy I found your channel..I feel like we would be great friends if we were neighbors ❤
You bought a house and you are making it into a lovely home. 🏡🏡🏡 💖💖💖
Thank you! 😊
Love your new bathroom, so pretty. I was thinking that if the two side lights were the other way up, you could have put battery night lights in them? But maybe you can get battery light bulbs? Blessings from Jilly & Madge the rescue greyhound, from West Devon, England. xxx
Jayne so very pretty! Well done! Enjoy your new(old) bathroom!
Thank you so much!
I wanted to just let you know in case you have not seen this yet. Many people just put a small puck like light ( battery) in lamps that are not hard wired and use the remote to turn them on and off. I hope I explained this well enough. I know Amazon probably has them. Love the bathroom. Love the home.
I am amazed at the light transformation, what a difference. And your gifted light is fabulous.
Did you know you can buy globes that don’t need to be wired in and a remote controlled. IKEA and Amazon. Hope this helps.
Well what a bargain find and you’ve transformed them beautifully. And how lucky agin with the vestibule shade!
Wow. That is a big change. Your new bathroom is beautiful. They do make a light bulb that runs off a battery. I would tape the wiring out of the way. You may want to resale those light fixtures someday.
I am so glad you are back... I was only thinking about you the other day and were wondering how you were going, and here you are in your beautiful heartage home. Hugs from Australia 🇦🇺
I love your bathroom so much. Everything looks amazing! X
Thank you so much!!
Those lights look amazing, but, they should of gone the other way round, just my opinion.
So pretty! I love everything you are doing! 😊
Thank you! 😊
Amazing work bathroom is gorgeous xx
Thanks so much! 😊
Oh my goodness your son looks like my son Greg. Handsome arnt. they.lol😊
I’m so glad you put down they look stunning ❤

Most beautifully done! I love everything you have done, from the wallpaper to the tiniest detail of the soap dish. BRAVA! 👏👏👏
💖💖💖
Thanks so much! 😊
Beautiful and it’s lovely to watch you work, almost like a meditation ❤
Thank you so much!
You are truly an inspiration
Love your vision. Where did you buy the tongue and groove panel for the bathroom and were they easy to install?
Thank you … I bought it from B&Q in packs … super easy to apply to the walls with ‘no nails’ and fine nails xx
It looks beautiful 😊
exquisitely beautiful
So very special 💖
You are doing such an amazing job. Love the house and the light. ❤x
Thank you so much!
❤🥰🐈⬛🪞🌹
Lovely!!!
I just love that light for the vestibule! Everything you are doing is lovely. That little soap dish is gorgeous, too.
I would hang that pretty dish on the wall in there. Its too pretty for soap !
Thank you so much!

Beautiful bathroom. I do love your shawls, they look so cosy. Did you have a pattern to crochet them or did you just make it up?
Thank you … it’s a free pattern I’ve created for you to download … it’s in my shop thedressmakerscloset.co.uk x
@@TheDressmakersCloset thank you 🙏. I didn’t realise your website had crochet patterns as well as sewing patterns. 🤦
Another great vlog, Jayne. I would never have thought of putting in light fittings just for decoration but it works well. Glad you put them in facing down - looks much better that way.
Your new hall light will be beautiful and welcoming. I love it when items have a story - it makes your home so much richer than just a pile of stuff bought from various shops.
❤
Candles would look nice in them also😊
Great idea!!
It’s beautiful Jayne just like you I’m in love with that wallpaper.
Your gift lampshade is really wonderful. Perfect for your entry. ❤Good to see you .
Doing great! And that’s the best part is able to do it. Blessings!

I just love watching and listening to you. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much!
That looks beautiful thank you for sharing💕💕🥰
Thanks for watching
Oo they look beautiful Jayne and I love them that way youve hung them but the other way you could have put short battery wax candles in with timer to come on and off each day and would flicker lovely through the glass. Keep up the good work, I'm loving the videos. Love the new old vestibule light. X
Btw this is Debbie Potter
Jayne , I love your bathroom , it is has such a tranquil feel to it xxx
Oh thank you ☺️
I think I'd of just antiqued the light shades with some wax so they werent as cakey. Would've worked well on the metal too.
