If you enjoy checking out Bangkok and other SE Asia spots, consider subscribing. I'll continue to make videos showing the streets in Bangkok and beyond. Thailand is amazing and a great place to visit, work or retire. I'll do my best to show you how to live affordably in SE Asia. Plus, enjoy some great side trips from Bangkok.
This building is really nice, it's just 19 years old. Every fancy building today, will be 19 years old in 10 more years. That's when I slip in for half the price. That's ok with me. Even a 50 year old building in California cost five times more than I pay today
😂..wow...........I stayed at an Air-BnB in that Diamond Waterford building around 6 years ago. The Daniel Thaiger Burger truck was parked on the right just as you enter the Soi, Mark Wiens did a reviewon them, it was pretty good from what i remember. seen a few other reviews saying "Best burger in Bangkok" 🍔
Have enjoyed watching your videos over the last few months and have learned so much about Bangkok as a result. Finally making the trip over next week. Would love to buy you a beer or two or three if you happen to be around while I’m in town to say thank you in person. Not sure how to reach you though other than here on YT
Great to hear. I'm on the road at the moment. I'll be back in town next week for about 5 days then off to Hong Kong. Shoot me a comment when you arrive. I'm always up for a beer
If your pork noodle place is closed, try Bamee Kon Sae Lee on the corner of Thong Lo & Sukhumvit. I see it gets favorable reviews for its pork noodle dishes.
I'm guessing it must be quite loud in the hallway (beginning of the video) as your neighbours close their doors which you would be able to hear when you're inside your room?
Considering the weather in Bangkok, sometimes hot, raining, some pollution, are balconies useful or are they just for show? I'd image the balcony floor and furniture always need cleaning. Maybe the idea seems nice when apartment searching but quickly loses appeal after a month of occupying the condo?
Balcony is a must to dry clothes. It's not really a BBQ spot. I'm in Chaing Mae tonight. This is smokies. BKK is super clean compared to burn season up here. I'd love a large balcony, but most are large enough for a washer and drying rack. Plus, a few ac units
Yes, check out the video I put out 30 minutes ago. I'd say there must be 100 older buildings in the area. Still, it's Phrom Phong. Even older will come at a cost. If you want older an cheaper, move a few miles away from any train. Or out near Bearing and Soi 101
@@EagerExpat many thanks ! Let me check it out. Just want old condos for the thick walls + bigger space. Had bad noise experience with newer condos… could hear people talking, closing doors, taking lifts in the corridors.
I used to have planes slamming on the deck above my bed. Not much bothers me. I'll sleep through anything. I never heard a neighbor. I think this place is made of cinder block. Not like cheap construction in California. You can hear your neighbors TV. I don't hear anything in my building

Always a 'Plan B' in the Big Mango! Love those older accommodation options as they have a certain nostalgia to them.

Hanging out at home here in SoCal with my elderly mum, we enjoy watching your videos in the evening over dinner. Keep them coming!
Cool. Thanks for watching. I miss California, but Bangkok is my new home
BYD overtook Tesla to be the world's biggest electric car company in Q4 2023😊
Great video
I see those cars everywhere. The MG also
Hi Joe ! love from Cali 👍❤👍
Thanks for watching
Thanks for another awesome video! 😎
My pleasure. More to come
Im Chan Restaurant on the Sukhumvit 37 Alley corner is also a nice local spot to eat ! I went there in January !
@@netzwerktravels That's a great spot. I go often. Right under the Phrom Phong BTS
Cool vlog❤
Thanks

Very cool. The Daniel burger is at a hotel today. Many great burgers in town

Very nice building at the end
It's a nice spot

I'll give that place a try. My place was closed for Songkran. It should be open soon. I'm in Chaing Mae, but I'll be home soon

It's a building, but I rarely hear any noise. It's also Bangkok. You hear ambulances all day and night. No big deal

Is there any other popular old condos in Phrom Phong other than Waterford diamond ?

When your neighbor shut the door, can you hear them. It sounds very echoey.
