It's Bruce Willis' best performance, and kinda underrated, really - directed by the late great Tony Scott who did the one you're currently watching, and also Top Gun. When he gets to the kids singing "I got McDonald's! You haven't got one! cuz your Mom is on the welfare and your Dad's an alcoholic, Hey kid! Where'd you get the big Welfare burger?" *Crying* "My mother made it..!" .. Fecking PRICELESS!!

They gave Axel a love interest for the first time. Toned down the language and violence. Taggart is MIA and replaced by Hector Elizondo. Bogomil is not in it. The plot also makes very little sense--it seems to have been picked out for the set-pieces on the ride and at the very end. And the villain is super-weak with no memorable henchmen. (Yes, even John Saxon is wasted.)

The funniest thing about the Gilbert Gottfried scene, which he talked about on Howard Stern, and I think wrote about in his book, was that, he and Eddie Murphy were on Saturday Night Live during the same time, but Gilbert was always kind of self destructive, didn't play the game, and it could've been a much bigger opportunity for him, but throughout his career, he was always blowing opportunities like this, but him and Eddie totally did work together. But when shooting this, the first time seeing eachother in years, Gilbert approached Eddie like, hey, how's it going, but realized that Eddie had no idea that they'd ever met before, and I think, eventually had to remind him, you know we worked together on Saturday Night Live.

Bob Seger's "Shakedown" video, with the movie clips in it, was in heavy rotation on MTV that summer, which was like seeing the movie trailer once or twice an hour. Those were the days of soundtracks, theme songs, and their videos. This was director Tony Scott's next movie after "Top Gun" and it shows in how it was shot. It became the signature look of movies by Scott and producers Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer for several movies.

Glad you caught Chris Rock and Gilbert Gottfried. Eddie having done standup knew a LOT of comedians, and he made a place for his comic buddies as he rose in film. I grew up during the 70s/80s when "Women!" was just a fun jab said by men, often followed by, "can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em" which has been around since the 15th century attributed to satirist Erasmus. It's even in a song in The Muppet Movie. Later, the joke came in some harsh/dark humor movies "can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em." not as funny for women, but young adult guys thought they were hilarious saying it to each other and we (girls and women) just rolled our eyes and laughed it off. Taggart shooting her, then saying, "Women!" was part funny just because it was so common at the time, but part hilarious in a dark way because he actually shot her. (Your reaction was perfect, btw. You see the humor and recognize how that would not fly these days, but know it's still okay to laugh. haha)

Beverly Hills Cop 3 is still a good movie. It still has the all action with comedic genius behind the Axel Foley character. Just depends on someone's preference or opinion. Personally I enjoyed it with the previous two movies but I can't speak for the next person. However, would still recommend you guys watching it so you can judge or review it for yourselves. Keep up the good work!

This movie is great. It was directed by Tony Scott, who directed the original Top Gun. Another awesome action movie he directed is The Last Boyscoutt starring Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans. A kick ass good time. Definitely recommend that flick. Lovin the reactions, guys.

Almost all Movies/TV went for full realism and it killed a lot of franchises and movies, because it broke their formula. From around 2005 to 2020 they took out a lot of the theatrical side entirely.

This is a good sequel. I do NOT believe it's better than the original, however. No need to watch the third one, either. What you should watch, if you want more 80's Eddie Murphy greatness, is "The Golden Child" (1986). Also, if you want another great 80's "buddy cop" movie with a great soundtrack, check out "Running Scared" (1986).
