Ronny Cox (Bogomil) was featured so little in this film because he was under contract for the overlapping shoot on Robocop as Dick Jones. As it was an entirely different studio they usually are not kind to releasing actors for other pictures. This is why his scene with the other actors was very limited and just crafted to appear as more interaction occurred. Tony Scott likes his role as a father figure to the cops that happened in the first movie. So they emphasized this by giving him a daughter and pushing his scenes to a carefully crafted cameo. So if you look closely you'll notice all the interior office scenes with him are very close sets, wardrobe, and lighting. Although Cox's hair is pretty much always in a similar style, its identical in this scene in Bevery Hills Cop 2 and Robocop. The closeup of him running outside (the long shot is a stand in) has his hair grown out a little more. Another unrelated unusual production detail is that the same 4 neckties in the movie keep floating between characters in the film in different scenes.
@@LogicalNiko really I didn't know that. So that's why we saw less of him in part 2. Thanks for the info I never really knew that until just now thanks for sharing that. 👍
@@philybarra2702 Yeah it does get silly when studios don't like their actors doing other works. I can understand that if you are actively on set on one studio's lot you are obligated to be there and ready. But if they tell you no you can't go down the street and do a scene your days off, that's a bit crazy. OTOH If you are a top billed star I can understand that being an exception. You don't want two Tom Cruise movies coming out months apart from different companies. That level of star billing is a big component in the marketing.
Oh my god. It's so serious, and so damn good. You two are awesome to watch this classic with. The music and characters and action are unforgettable. Fantastic video 🎉💫🙌
Every time I hear someone mentioning the urban legend that pretty much all sequels are bad (or always get worse) compared to the original, I automatically react, because there strictly is no true fact about that ; it can go three ways (badder, equivalent, better)... But it's fairly often (way more often than the stupidly cemented popular belief makes people think) as good or even better as the original. ⭐ Here's a non-exhaustive list based on most popular feedbacks (the list goes on and on, like I implied) : - the "Man with no name" trilogy ; in particular The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966) - The Godfather Part 2 (1974) - Star Wars Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back (1980) - Star Trek 2 : Wrath of Khan (1982) - Aliens (1986) - Beverly Hills Cop 2 (1986) - Evil Dead 2 (1987) - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) - Lethal Weapons 2 (1989) - Superman 2 (1989) - National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) - Terminator 2 : Judgment Day (1991) - Batman Returns (1992) - Addams Family Value (1993) - Drunken Master 2 (1994) - Desperado (1995) - the Lord of the Rings movies - X2 : X-Men United (2003) - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) - Shrek 2 (2004) - Spider-Man 2 (2007) - The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) - The Dark Knight (2008) - Hellboy 2 : The golden army (2008) - Toy Story 3 (2010) - Before sunset / Before midnight - the Planet of the Apes series - The Raid 2 (2014) - How to train your dragon 2 (2014) - 22 Jump Street (2014) - Captain America The Winter Soldier (2015) - Mad Max Fury Road (2015) - Logan (2017) - Thor Ragnarok (2017) - Deadpool 2 (2018) - Paddington 2 (2018) - Avengers Infinity War / Avengers Endgame - the Mission Impossible franchise - Spider-Man : No Way Home (2021) - Top Gun Maverick (2022) - Puss in boots : The last wish (2022) - Dune Part Two (2024)
BHC2 is dire in comparison to the first one. Cut and paste of scenes from the first film without the magic. Compare Axel visiting the gun club in BHC2 to him visiting the country club in the first one and blagging his way in. No sane person can conclude BHC2 is better. Nothing works. A feeble attempt at recapturing the past for profit. Thread ended.
@@RobertSnook-mz6fh I too, prefer the first one and think that it is a lil better than the second one, but not by a big margin... And that was my point. I was not talking about my personal take regarding which sequels are better and which aren't... I simply was pointing out that there are tons of sequels that objectively are -at worst- pretty much equivalent to the original or -at best- are much better than the original... The list of such examples is endless ; which discredits the popular belief (or urban legend) that all sequels suck.
“THIS is not my office?!” 😂 Probably already mentioned, but Jeffrey / Burke / Paul Reiser was a famous standup in the 80s / 90s, wrote a couple of books, starred in a few sitcoms, including MY TWO DADS and MAD ABOUT YOU, etc. Also, MORE great soundtrack songs in this franchise 😊
Fun fact: the posters of Rambo and Cobra in Rosewood's house was kind of a joke to Sylvester Stallone, who was initially given the part of Axel Foley but the studio didn't like his "dark" ideas for the movie so Eddie got the part. The blonde woman (Bridget Nielsen) was his wife at the time. She also appeared in Cobra with Stallone.
Yes, the robberies were just to finance the weapon's deal. That's why them interrupting of the Federal Reserve robbery was so crucial. They literally needed that money.
In the editing, they left out one of the funniest jokes in the cement truck scene. Axel to Billy: “Are you driving with your eyes open, or are you, like, using the Force?”
As much as I love the first one. This one really finds its groove with the action and comedy under the slick direction of Tony Scott:) Got-to love Billy’s transformation as a badass, and Brigitte Nielsen makes a really good henchwoman:) Love the soundtrack as well. I still own the cassette tape:) Lol😂
III came out in 94 and had a real tonal shift, I believe mostly because the Director was John Landis who was going through a weird time, working mostly with Michael Jackson - coming off of some flops. BHCIII is one of those movies you see has an R rating and for the life of you, cant remember why. I'm actually interesting is seeing it again through this medium -It will be the first time in 25 years. I watched it once on HBO and once in a Hotel in High School. Not since.
Holy Man and I Spy are pure unwatchable garbage. Metro and Showtime aren’t great, but those are better Murphy movies than I Spy or Holy Man. Bowfinger and Life though, great choices.
Apparently Gil Hill, who played Insp. Todd, was an actual Inspector with the Detroit Police Homocide Division at the time this was filmed. He was the real deal, basically playing himself.
That Detroit undercover scene would be considered 'entrapment' in the real world/court of law. I just saw an interview today with Judge Reinhold talking about BHC and the new sequel. The song SHAKEDOWN by Bob Seger went to #1 on the Hot 100 Chart and was nominated for an Oscar as Best Original Song. That's an old Forensic Science trick using super-glue fumes to highlight prints.
This is an excellent movie and my favorite line “sound the alarm you got a break in!! I need authorization. *shoots alarm* AUTHORIZED!” It’s just fantastic.
If you like Tony Scott you should check out the movie “Unstoppable” from 2010 with Chris Pine and Denzel W. It was Tony’s last film I believe and not many RUclipsrs have reacted to it!
Fun fact: the villain is played by Jurgen Prochnow, who played the U Boat captain in the Oscar Nominated DAS BOOT. He was originally going to play the role of Dr. Moreau in Richard Stanley's Island Of Dr Moreau until Stanley was fired after 4 days of filming.
The 3rd movie isn’t as good as the first two, but it’s still fun. It loses a bit with no Taggart, and it’s less gritty and “street”… it’s somewhat sanitised if that makes sense.
20:41 That reference was made because Stallone was originally considered for the part of Foley. Stallone rewrote the script, removing all the humor and turning Beverly Hills Cop back into a standard action movie. Stallone went on to make Cobra which was inspired by his original script for Beverly Hills Cop
20:41 Stallone was originally going to star in Beverly Hills Cop 1 but had creative differences with the production and took his original story to Warner to make Cobra. The poster in this scene was a joke because of the whole situation!
Definitely do the 3rd movie! If you go into it with low expectations, you will absolutely love it! Just based on things you both said in this reaction makes me think you will enjoy it. If you go into it thinking it will be as good as or better than this one, you will be disappointed.

Cox was tied and it felt as a insult
⭐ Here's a non-exhaustive list based on most popular feedbacks (the list goes on and on, like I implied) :
- the "Man with no name" trilogy ; in particular The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966)
- The Godfather Part 2 (1974)
- Star Wars Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
- Star Trek 2 : Wrath of Khan (1982)
- Aliens (1986)
- Beverly Hills Cop 2 (1986)
- Evil Dead 2 (1987)
- Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
- Lethal Weapons 2 (1989)
- Superman 2 (1989)
- National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
- Terminator 2 : Judgment Day (1991)
- Batman Returns (1992)
- Addams Family Value (1993)
- Drunken Master 2 (1994)
- Desperado (1995)
- the Lord of the Rings movies
- X2 : X-Men United (2003)
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
- Shrek 2 (2004)
- Spider-Man 2 (2007)
- The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)
- The Dark Knight (2008)
- Hellboy 2 : The golden army (2008)
- Toy Story 3 (2010)
- Before sunset / Before midnight
- the Planet of the Apes series
- The Raid 2 (2014)
- How to train your dragon 2 (2014)
- 22 Jump Street (2014)
- Captain America The Winter Soldier (2015)
- Mad Max Fury Road (2015)
- Logan (2017)
- Thor Ragnarok (2017)
- Deadpool 2 (2018)
- Paddington 2 (2018)
- Avengers Infinity War / Avengers Endgame
- the Mission Impossible franchise
- Spider-Man : No Way Home (2021)
- Top Gun Maverick (2022)
- Puss in boots : The last wish (2022)
- Dune Part Two (2024)
BHC2 is dire in comparison to the first one.
She also appeared in Cobra with Stallone.
oh that's right.
And then after Billy takes out the truck with an rpg Taggert says "F-- Rambo!" 😂
I have a soft spot for part 3. It always always on TV as a kid
Ronny Cox was in Robocop (1987) at the same year as a villain.
His first ever villain role, IIRC. I'm sure I read that somewhere.
Inspector Todd was really the police chief in Detroit at the time. Fun fact
Yes this is better than the original

Same. This soundtrack and The Lost Boys. 1987 was a great year
Sam you’re on top of it tonight!! “C and D”!!👍
The Main Villain was the captain (Kaleun) from "Das Boot", Jürgen Prochnow.
Axel: inspector T how you doing?
Inspector Todd: WHERE THE F*** YOU BEEN FOLEY!?
😆😆😆
Todd always makes me laugh. Since -84
Yeah the "F*ck Rambo" line and all the Stallone digs by the producers are classic. 😂
I recommend Midnight Run (1988), starring Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. It also has John Ashton (Taggart in Beverly Hills). Good action comedy.
Great movie!
Not since.
This and the 48hr movies to me are peak Eddie Murphy. Dudes just unhinged and going off with the improv.
🔥 *Bowfinger* (1999) _Steve Martin & Eddie Murphy_
★ *Life* (1999) _Martin Lawrence & Eddie Murphy_
🔥 *Holy Man* (1998) _Jeff Goldblum & Eddie Murphy_
★ *I Spy* (2002) _Owen Wilson & Eddie Murphy_
BONUS TRACK (COPS)
- *21 Jump Street* (2012)
Jonah Hill & Channing Tatum
- *22 Jump Street* (2014)
- *The Other Guys* (2010)
Will Ferrell & Mark Wahlberg
Holy Man and I Spy are pure unwatchable garbage. Metro and Showtime aren’t great, but those are better Murphy movies than I Spy or Holy Man. Bowfinger and Life though, great choices.
The actor who plays Billy is in a very funny movie called “Ruthless People” with Bette Midler and Danny DeVito.
Axel: Inspector T how you doing?😊😊
Inspector Todd: WHERE THE F**K YOU BEEN FOLEY?!😠😠😠
Me:😂😂
Apparently Gil Hill, who played Insp. Todd, was an actual Inspector with the Detroit Police Homocide Division at the time this was filmed. He was the real deal, basically playing himself.
Todd is my favorite angry police chief 😅
Yep, the Superglue thing is real.
?
Funny thing. With all of the California emissions laws and EV’s L.A. is still smoggy.
Secondly. Bob Seager did an awesome job with the opening theme.
This is an excellent movie and my favorite line “sound the alarm you got a break in!! I need authorization. *shoots alarm* AUTHORIZED!” It’s just fantastic.
The actress who plays the captain's daughter was married to Josh Brolin for a while in the late 80s.
Paul Reiser was also in an episode of The Boys.
Nobody gonna mention #1 ranked sitcom for several years, Mad About You, with Helen Hunt ?
@@tempsitch5632Uhm, My Two Dad's??? Hello...
@@jkhoover No, we ain't gotta mention My Two Dads
B. Cop 3 is nice too, you can finish the trilogy happily😆👍
If you like Tony Scott you should check out the movie “Unstoppable” from 2010 with Chris Pine and Denzel W. It was Tony’s last film I believe and not many RUclipsrs have reacted to it!
Fun fact: The guy who plays Dewey is built like The Rock now.
between this series and the Lethal Weapon series we had some fantastic buddy cop movies in the 80's
Can't wait to see you guys's reaction.I know you're go I love it❤😂😂
Speaking of Beverly hills, down and out in Beverly hills with Nick Nolte and Richard Dreyfuss is pretty slept on just saying
Also the original Duke Leto Atreides!
@@hadoken95 Yes, the Original DUNE is still a good movie!
He was also in BEERFEST
The owner of the house at the end is actually Eddie Murphy's agent at the time.
His agent ? What's his name ?

3th movie is certainly watchable and fun enough to watch.
The 3rd movie isn’t as good as the first two, but it’s still fun.
It loses a bit with no Taggart, and it’s less gritty and “street”… it’s somewhat sanitised if that makes sense.
Billy is the standout star of the sequel !
20:41 That reference was made because Stallone was originally considered for the part of Foley. Stallone rewrote the script, removing all the humor and turning Beverly Hills Cop back into a standard action movie. Stallone went on to make Cobra which was inspired by his original script for Beverly Hills Cop
In a edgy way
20:41 Stallone was originally going to star in Beverly Hills Cop 1 but had creative differences with the production and took his original story to Warner to make Cobra. The poster in this scene was a joke because of the whole situation!
Why it is a joke ?
Definitely do the 3rd movie! If you go into it with low expectations, you will absolutely love it! Just based on things you both said in this reaction makes me think you will enjoy it. If you go into it thinking it will be as good as or better than this one, you will be disappointed.
Incredible sequel than the original, cool reaction as always Schmitt & Samantha, you both take care and have a good night
Sylvester Stallone jabs:
1. Bridget Nielsen, his ex wife
2. Sylvester poster
3.Rambo mention
Best Sequel Ever, Great Reaction Guy's
