@RuntotheMovies. Ladies, I might have mentioned or requested this before, but what are the chances of you ever reacting to 'the mating habits of the earthbound human?' Despite the name it is not an adult movie, is actually a brilliant comedy on dating from a different perspective. 40:39 Fun Fact for you ladies: The actor who did the scene parodying the "Chest Burster" scene in "Alien" was John Hurt, the actor whose character was the victim of the chest Burster in "Alien", thus, the reason why he'd spoke the line, "Oh, No, Not Again"
Fun Trivia: the scene where Dark Helmet is playing with his dolls was completely unscripted....the scene and dialogue were all improvised by Rick Moranis himself 😂😂😂
One of my favorite quick jokes is when they are 'combing' the desert and Col. Sanders asked if they are being too literal. Dark Helmet uses his megaphone to respond standing right next to him but puts it away and just yells to the guys way down below doing the combing.
What I still find funny is Tim Russ is the Spaceball that says "we ain't found sh!t" and people STILL recognize him to this day for that line.... he played Tuvok in Star Trek Voyager for seven years, he even finds it amusing.
23:29 Only found out a couple months ago, the combing the desert scene, the Spaceball who says, "We ain't found SHIT!" was also Tuvok from Voyager, Tim Russ.

Toy & Tori Dark Helmet is played Rick Moranis. Rick Moranis has a long career in entertainment. Then 1997, Rick took a hiatus from acting to raising his children after his wife died in 1991. In 1997, Rick became full time father. Then Rick is slowly returning to acting with a few selected roles. Rick reprised his Dark Helmet to voice the villain on the sitcom, The Goldbergs in 2018. Besides Spaceballs, Rick starred in Honey, I shrunk the kids and its sequel, Honey, I blew up the kid. In 2020, Rick signed on for 3rd sequel in Shrink (Blew Up) series for "Shrunk"

There you go, the ultimate comedy classic. It has been stuck with me since age 5, it never stopped making me laugh. The next Mel Brooks you should react to are either Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, or his very last film Dracula Dead and Loving It.
Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles are my three favorite Mel Brooks films. If I had to pick a favorite I would say Young Frankenstein is my favorite.
This is such a funny movie. You can't help but laugh & can watch it over & over. Loved how Tori guessed what it was. I also see Toy had on Ren & Stimpy pants.
Put on the ritz! 😃🙂 Other Mel Brooks movies: The original 60's movie version of The Producers, which was not only his breakthrough but also Gene Wilder's breakthrough. Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein (which parodies the Boris Karloff Frankenstein movie & its two sequels, Bride of Frankenstein & Son of Frankenstein), High Anxiety (which parodies a lot of Alfred Hitchcock's movies such as Vertigo, Birds & Psycho), History of the World part 1 (Originally there wasn't a part 2, but they recently made a part 2 in TV-show form), Robin Hood: Men in Tights (parodies Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves & the Errol Flynn Robin Hood movie) & Dracula: Dead & Loving It (parodies Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula movie & the Bela Lugosi Dracula movie). Here's three very underrated Mel Brooks movies that are worth watching: The Twelve Chairs, Silent Movie (which parodies the silent movie genre) & Life Stinks.
Mel Brooks created some of the funniest, irreverent, ironic movies ever made: Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, The Producers, Men in Tights, History of the World, High Anxiety, To Be or Not To Be----all brilliant.
The radar operator at 11:05 is none other than Michael Winslow. He’s an actor, comedian, and beatboxer known as “The Man of 10,000 Sound Effects” for his ability to make realistic sounds using just his voice. He is best remembered for his role as Officer Larvell Jones in the Police Academy films. The space trucker at 40:18 who has an Alien burst from his chest is actually John Hurt. He played Kane in Alien who was implanted by the face-hugger with an alien embryo. He’s literally doing a comedic spoof of the famous chestburster scene from Alien.
What's better than watching you two watch a comedy full of sexual innuendos? Watching you both come up with your own to add to the movie (Lonestar and Dark Helmet touching tips indeed)!! I am so happy that you appreciate the dancing, singing Alien at the diner as its one of my favorite parts. Thanks, ladies for another amazing reaction! I think I always end up laughing at your reactions more than I do the movie, lol. Oh, and before I forget... Putting on the Ritz!
One of my all time favourite movies! Rick Moranis ended up costing Mel Brooks "a lot" of money, since the crew (including Brooks) couldn't help but laugh during his scenes, most notably when he first appears on screen and has breathing problems. George Lucas lended the services of his company ILM to shoot some scenes. The escape pod dropping out was actually a (once) deleted scene from A New Hope. He agreed to let Brooks make the movie on the condition that he couldn't make merchandise, hence the running gag throughout the movie. And he didn't want Lone Star to dress like Han, so Brooks chose to dress him like Indiana Jones. Rick Moranis improvised the entire scene where he plays with his dolls, he was sick and had a fever that day and still came up with one of the best scenes. The original title was Planet Moron. Brooks had a bad reaction to the Yogurt make up and got a bad rash around his eyes. The voice Dark Helmet has when his... dark helmet visor is down is inspired by David Prowse, the physical actor for Darth Vader in the original trilogy, and how he sounded with the mask on set. You can find footage of it.
No Star Wars movie was released in the theater as A New Hope. The original Star Wars movie was released as just Star Wars, and four years later, when it was re-released, it had A New Hope added to it.
@@MATTHEW-rp3kq Is what I said not true? Even my 24-year-old son calls the first Star Wars movie Star Wars. It would be like going back and changing the name of the movie Exorcist because sequels and then prequels came out.
"They've gone to plaid" always makes me laugh, and I'm not sure why. Also, Yogurt's little group ("Dink, dink") are singing a march from a movie called The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957).
The scene where Dark Helmet was playing with the action figures was 100% ad-libbed by Rick Moranis. You really can't go wrong with any Mel Brooks movie - Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, The Producers, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights are his better-known films, but The 12 Chairs, High Anxiety (a tribute to Alfred Hitchcock movies), and Life Stinks are also pretty good.
The guy who made the radar sound effects, he was also in Police Academy, another funny movie. The President and Yogurt is Mel Brooks. Think about their names. Prince Valium, who is always yawning. Princess Vespa, look up Vespa.
I saw just yesterday that Spaceballs 2 is currently in the works now as well. It'll be produced by Mel Brooks. They're currently working on the script from what I read.
Loved your reaction to one of my childhood favourites! Especially your shocked look to both cameras! The merchandise you saw throughout the story was bit of mild ribbing at George Lucas. He gave Mel Brooks permission to make this parody of "Star Wars", and even allowed him to borrow the facilities at ILM for the special effects. However, one of the conditions for Lucas doing so was that Brooks create and market no "Spaceballs" merch -- he didn't want competition or confusion with his own line of merchandise. So as an inside joke, Brooks filled the movie with merch instead! "People fall in love every day" -- that would be a great film to watch with you. I also highly recommend "Now get in your mouse and go home" (Uncle Buck). As for future Mel Brooks movies, I simply must request "Blazing Saddles".
It’s been mentioned that Spaceballs 2 is in the works, and on of the ending scenes in History of The World Part I (Jews in Space) will be expanded on. Also Mel Brooks played both the Governor Scroob and Yogurt. He actually could not sell merchandise because of contractual agreements with Lucas Films and Star Wars. Mel Brooks has made many movies and alsoo was a writer for the original Get Smart series. For his other movies I recommend in order: Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Men in Tights, History of the World Part I.
One of the DVD version of the movie has the whole thing in fast-forward, dubbed "Watch in Ludicrous Speed". The Merchandising stuff is a running that Mel Brooks put in, because George Lucas OKed the movie and let them use ILM for the effects, on the condition that no merchandise be made from Spaceballs. Thus, almost everything in the movie is "Spaceballs the placemant", "Spaceballs the toilet paper", etc. I would definitely recommend Robinhood Men in Tights.
Oh, this one's perfect. You guys knocked it out of the park with the reaction and between Tori's dirty little mind and Toy's quick reactions to the callbacks, it was just perfect. An excellent job. Also, the entire Mel Brooks filmography is worth checking out, and before I forget.. Putting on the Ritz
16:54 that's all of Mel Brooks films. Then after those he would go on to create Life Stinks, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Dracula Dead and Loving It. Oh yeah, "Putting on the Ritz"
Fun Facts: Although there are many jokes about merchandise, Spaceballs didn't actually have any. Apparently George Lucas asked Mel not to make any, which led to the merchandise jokes/gags within the film. George also asked Mel not to have a character dressed like Han Solo, so Lone Starr is dressed like Indiana Jones instead. Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), which was owned by Lucas, did the special effects for the film. The Millennium Falcon (or a ship that looks just like it) is parked outside the space diner.
Toy and Tori missed some of the references:The Millennium Falcon is parked at the space diner and The Planet of the Apes scene at the end,Rhonda Shear was the waitress at the diner and Tim Russ(Tuvok)was the guy combing the desert.
You guys are probably too young to remember this, but in 1987, when I was 9 years old, ABC had a TV show called "Max Hedroom", which was an adaption of a British TV show, with a "computerized news anchor". He would always glitch and repeat things and stutter....in the Pizza the Hut scene, the robotic assistant and the guy who directs the call to that was a reference to Max Hedroom. 🙂 Lots of good things happened in 1987....the release of the IBM PS/2 line, IBM's first PC to use the new 80386, the first PC programs that made use of CD-ROM, such as Microsoft Bookshelf (it was text only!) and encyclopedias on the Mac that had graphics, and also the liquid nitrogen superconductor (way warmer than liquid helium ones), three Friday the 13ths.....and, my personal favorite event of 1987, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" was released! 🙂
John Candy's great movies are Uncle Buck and Splash. Mel Brooks other great movies - History of the World part one, Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood Men in Tights, Young Frankinstein, and The Producers.
Ladies, assuming no one else has mentioned it, the scene of Helmet playing with his dolls was totally improvised by Rick Moranis after Mel suggested he do that for the scene.
This is the first time watching your channel and i subscribed almost directly. I love your reactions. Especially Toris chocked expression at some of the jokes.
We now live in a world where dot matrix printers barely exist. A number of airlines will still use them for passenger manifests but I'm sure there's very few use cases left. I love when Barf is loaded up with suitcases and he drops them all except the one in his teeth to talk to Lone Starr. So good.
In Greek mythology there’s someone who eats themselves to death (Erysichthon of Thessaly - I just checked). I think he chopped down a special tree, the rightful owner cursed him with an insatiable appetite and he eventually ran out of things to eat (I didn’t check that but I think it’s right(ish)).
I've seen this one sooo many times since I was a little kiddo, and as I've seen more and more other movies and grown up dirty minded I've gradually gotten more and more of the references in it! This may be my favourite Mel Brooks movie. if you don't agree with me we can still be friends, there's no need to be sad. But If you're blue, and you don't know where to go to Why don't you go where fashion sits? PUTTIN´ON THE RIIIIIITZ!!!!!! May the schwartz be with you!
22:23 This is a gag. When Mel Brooks wrote Spaceballs he knew he would be sailing pretty close to infringing on Star Wars copyright. So he rang George Lucas and asked him if it was ok. They came to an agreement, part of which is Spaceballs couldnt produce any merchandise from the film
THAT is Mel Brooks playing the president and Yogurt! George Lucas told him not to dreas Lone Star like Luke Skywalker, so he dressed him like Indiana Jones. He also told him no merchandising. That's the reason for the merchandising gag.
Puttin' On The Ritz, baby! And in case it's not obvious by now, this movie was the source of the names for Elon's "extra-fast" versions of Tesla cars. The first was a Model S that could be had with "Ridiculous Speed." Later came a model with "Ludicrous Speed." And finally, the Model S "Plaid." They even have badges inspired by the graphics for these speeds as used in the movie.
Tory, you are very observant. The scene of the group walking on the top of the sand dunes and the scene of the group finding the Yogurt statue are meant to reference The Wizard of Oz, the latter the scene where the group meets "the man behind the curtain". You are also correct in identifying Tony Cox as one of the "jawas" as also being in the Bad Santa franchise. You have a keen eye!
OMG hearing someone else mention "Splash"..... I legit didn't think anyone else remembered that movie. I loved that movie, so much so the moment I saw it was on one of the streaming sites I had, I just had to rewatch it.

Stephen Toloblowsky.
He did the belly button trick at the high school talent show.
My voice is my passport.
Please verify.
"Even in the future nothing works" I use this quote all the time.
Tori's reaction to the roommate speech is golden XD
This belongs in a best of Run To The Movies compilation!
The original Star Wars movie was released as just Star Wars, and four years later, when it was re-released, it had A New Hope added to it.
whats with you man lol
@@MATTHEW-rp3kq Is what I said not true? Even my 24-year-old son calls the first Star Wars movie Star Wars. It would be like going back and changing the name of the movie Exorcist because sequels and then prequels came out.
Lord Helmet: I bet she gives great helmet.
She: you gotta give him that hawk tuah and spit on that thang.
Cute little cat rabbit. Is it related to Bugs Bunny? By the way....... Putting on the Ritz
"They've gone to plaid" always makes me laugh, and I'm not sure why. Also, Yogurt's little group ("Dink, dink") are singing a march from a movie called The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957).
I think my favorite film with John Candy is "the great outdoors" pure 80s goodness.
Yes, the director (Mel Brooks) plays both the President and Yogurt. Brooks is notorious for having cameos in his own films.
The guy who made the radar sound effects, he was also in Police Academy, another funny movie. The President and Yogurt is Mel Brooks. Think about their names. Prince Valium, who is always yawning. Princess Vespa, look up Vespa.
4:20 vader crushes necks, helmet crushes nuts😅
+1 for Police Academy. "Putting on the Ritz" also.
Love the picture of Geordi La Forge behind you guys!
SPLASH is a great movie!
History of the World part 2 reference that as well.
Lots of good things happened in 1987....the release of the IBM PS/2 line, IBM's first PC to use the new 80386, the first PC programs that made use of CD-ROM, such as Microsoft Bookshelf (it was text only!) and encyclopedias on the Mac that had graphics, and also the liquid nitrogen superconductor (way warmer than liquid helium ones), three Friday the 13ths.....and, my personal favorite event of 1987, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" was released! 🙂
Some great jokes in this one. Mel Brooks is a comedy legend.
John Candy's great movies are Uncle Buck and Splash. Mel Brooks other great movies - History of the World part one, Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood Men in Tights, Young Frankinstein, and The Producers.
fun fact 23:32 that actor is Tim Russ who plays as Tuvok in Star Trek Voyager
Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Dracula: Dead and Loving It.
Thanks so much for your kind words. Welcome to our family.
Maybe Prince Valium needs Mr. Coffee. or Mr. Radar.
Lots of Mr. Coffee!
One of my favorite Mel Brooks movies. I have always wanted that Yogurt doll.
"Oh no, not again."
Tori: "Again?"
He said "again" because the same thing happened to the same actor in the movie Alien years earlier.
"PUTTING ON THE RIIIIITZ" - The Monster
I just wanted the whole 90 minutes to be the ship - Mel Brooks
Love Toy and Tori reactions! Thanks for posting ❤
But
If you're blue, and you don't know where to go to
Why don't you go where fashion sits?
PUTTIN´ON THE RIIIIIITZ!!!!!!
May the schwartz be with you!
Putting On The Ritz! It’s Mel Brooks at his best, not just funny but a beautifully crafted movie.
Top Mel Brooks movies. Omitting current movie
1. Blazing Saddles
2. Young Frankenstein
3. Robin Hood: men in tights
"Putting on the Ritz" Loved watching the reaction. :)
Thanks so much for watching with us!
President Screwb and Yogurt are both played by Mel Brooks himself. He's in most of the movies he directs
Young Frankenstein 😂. And the black guy with the pick is actually tuvok from the Star Trek show Voyager 😂.
This is one of the funniest reactions yet! Poor Tori trying to get her mind out of the gutter and Toy keeps shoving her right back in! LOL!!!
OMG hearing someone else mention "Splash"..... I legit didn't think anyone else remembered that movie. I loved that movie, so much so the moment I saw it was on one of the streaming sites I had, I just had to rewatch it.
The guy sitting next to pizza is a play on a character from ads, then his own short lived series: max headroom. He was big on promoting maxell tapes.
And Coca-Cola.
@Madbandit77 I forgot about coca cola.
"Putting on the Ritz" if at least to see Marty Feldman play his iconic funny hunchback character.
And to see Abby's reaction to a certain scene
walk this way
"What hump?"
I love Rick Moranis he was one of my favorites back in the day
Mel Brook's "Dracula: Dead and Loving it!".
The guy playing President Skroob, and Yogurt, is Mel Brooks, who is also the director!
