"Yeah, they're just bad ass." You got it. These ladies are schooled in the best American Roots music and have journeyed through different music genres from childhood. They understand and appreciate the primacy of the blues in modern music. These days they're just straight up blues rock honeys. Check 'em out live and in person some day, and you will say that they're beyond "bad ass". 👍💖🎸😎
Love this band! They're named after their grandfather! Was a contemporary and friend of his first cousin Edgar Allan Poe! My second favorite current band. Band Maid is my favorite! Larkin Poe's RUclips page is massive! Whole lotta music! Great Reaction!😊😎✌🤘
My apologies, I neglected to tell you that Rebecca wrote this for Megan, and her blonde locks. Also Megan had her lap steel specially modified so she could play it standing up.
Rap Blues style ...before Rap was a thing ... this is straight down and dirty raw blues....visceral music. Both girls have changed their hair colours of late but thats any girls privilege let alone a stage artist. Try some of their covers for the diversity of their talented.🔥 😎🇬🇧
This is the third review of this band I've heard and each one has reminded me of ZZ Top. (Not that that is a bad thing.) But it does remind me that this genre sounds best and is most effective when drunk and stoned in a club. I don't know if your erudite analysis is warranted even if it is appreciated. Anyway, keep up the good work.
They have played with BFG on his latest solo album Hardware. Just for one track but still it's the Reverend. BTW, 15 to 20 years ago I have worked with a dieter koch, he was from Norderstedt (close to Hamburg), Germany. He should be around 80 now.
Great song and talent.... thank you for your review. Check out Dea Matrona (Molly McGinn) is amazingly talented. Check out two of their songs, "I Feel the Earth Move" (carole king cover) and "Cradle Rock" (rory gallagher cover). Opposite ends of musical spectrum
Great reaction. Anyway, can i request your reaction to superb band from japan? The band is call "Lovebites" They all The Beautiful Queens heavy metal band right now in the earth. They are really really World class musicians. Phenomenal. And they have a lot diehard fans like me😁. The fans called Wolfpack. The song is "Set the world on fire" Hope you check out, and can enjoy it too. Big thanks🙏
Good choice, really different from the ones you have covered so far. And, yes, Rebecca's singing is on another level. I hesitate to say better, cause it wasn't really worse before. Maybe she is a bit more confident to go closer to the limits of her vocal abilities. A bit like a nice tube amp on the edge of break-up. Most of the time it's fairly clean but when she is pushing it a bit harder she can add a fair amount if dirt. Which is great for this kind of music. Of their own songs this is one of the dirtiest, nastiest, badassiest, bluesiest, reminds me of lot of Samantha Fish besides Sam's guitar playing is from a different level. If you want it harder, I think only their cover of Son House's Preachin' Blues could do.
Oh, there's more. "Mississippi," "Back Down South," "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues," "Hellhound on My Trail," "God Moves on the Water," "Who Do You Love," "John the Revelator," among others.
@@douglasloss harder? They are in the same area, but I would not necessarily say they are harder. Well, whatb does harder mean anyways, not the most scientific description for music.
The Lovell sisters are badass!!! They are the real deal and the best thing to happen to blues/roots/Americana/rock music in a LONG TIME.

❤❤Larkin Poe 🎉🎉🎉❤❤
To all who love this Music, take a live concert of Larkin Poe. This women are absolutely dynamite
Pure power. Gritty. Raw. Love them!
I know this is late. But they are brilliant at both song writing and singing. I am lucky enough to be going to see them later this year. Can't wait
I saw them live October 30th 2021 and they were absolutely amazing.

Not grandfather, but a few-times-removed relative. They're not quite THAT long-lived in the Lovell family. :)
@@douglasloss The name is after their fifth great grandfather Larkin Haskew Poe, who was a distant cousin of Edgar Allen Poe.

Yeah, but it looks like Megan has lost her bleach blonde bottle blues these days. Either way, she's still a blues rock honey.🎸🎸🎸
