Loved the reaction thinking you were listening to a AC/DC cover. I know you figured out that it's not. In fact it's actually two separate songs that at some point they decided to run together. For years now this has been the closing song of the regular portion of their live sets. Then they come back for an encore. It's probably the most intense rock song from their catalog, especially in their earlier period when they first started playing this. These girls can do it all. If you can believe, they actually started out as a bluegrass trio (The Lovell Sisters) with their older sister Jessica. They won a Garrison Keillor Prairie Home Companion teen talent show when Rebecca was about 13 and Megan 14 or 15. Then toured festivals for about 4 years and recorded 3 Albums until they broke up in 2009 when Jessica left to pursue other interests. Then Larkin Poe was formed in 2010, named after their great great great (maybe one more great?) grandfather Larkin Haskins Poe who was a distant cousin of Edgar Allen Poe.
@BEL - It's been at least a year since you did this reaction to Larkin Poe. How about doing some from their now Grammy winning album, Blood Harmony! After all, you've done dozens of The Warning songs...and these 2 bands have a lot in common! Classically trained, parents not musicians, totally committed to their genre of rock!
I had never heard of Larkin Poe when I saw them two years ago on Rock Legend Cruise VIII. I became an instant fan. Here is the last part of this song that I ran up to the stage to capture: ruclips.net/video/EtHTMPNkczA/видео.html . The energy and intensity of their live performance is incredible!
Words are something AC/DC would write, but they are not AccaDacca :), AC/DC was born in Sydney just outside the immigration center, formed by Young family members. Fun fact: George Young formed Easybeats (successful), then AC/DC (very successful) then owned Vender and Young production company. Like to sound and reaction. 🥰
Megan is playing her old Rickenbacker lap steel. Through a Fender amp. And sister, Rebecca, the lead vocalist, is playing her Strat, also through a Fender.

Any reason to listen to Larkin Poe is a good reason.
Agreed!
You can't go wrong with Larkin Poe - anything they write or cover is great. Such talented sisters!
I love any reaction (especially first reactions) to Larkin Poe, but when the person actually knows music it's awesome. Great reaction.

Yes, 4 greats, and the middle name is Haskew.

Another thing about the Lapsteel, it doesn't have frets.
