- This song may be the one that impressed me the most today. This is April Wine - Roller, although I'm sure you already know that... I think a lot of people will know exactly what part of Roller hooked me in the most. The fact 3 people contributed to the guitar solo is incredible. I really don't know if I have heard that in music before. I'm hoping that you guys can put me on to some more incredible performances from April Wine, especially ones that are as complex as Roller. This is an incredible journey we're going on at the minute and believe me when I say, this is only the beginning...
Here is my reaction to hearing April Wine - Roller for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!

This kid has an "Old Soul" and recognizes good music 🎶 when he hears it!😎✌️🤘🤟💃
100%
Absolutely!! And I'm so impressed by how much detail he picks up on a first listen. He's got such a good ear. (And that impish look of joy and wonder when he hears something amazing just cracks me up!)
God rest Myles Goodwyn's soul . This band has been around for decades and soooooooo underated. Great reaction!!!!
One of April Wine's very best "I Like To Rock"
I Rock Myself To Sleep as well
As a Canadian I 100% indorse this pick🇨🇦🤘
As an American I concur!!🔥🤘🥰
@@Metal_Mary as an American I second that….. Canada has always delivered. Some great musicians and the world is fortunate to hear their music.
@@brianjohnston5221 Absolutely!
Yes!
Ditto!
Love "I like to rock!" It's a banger!
Fun fact, the video was filmed in the same studio as Rush's "Tom Sawyer"
"I like it... you like it!"
"Sign Of The Gypsy Queen" is a great one from them - spooky vibe.
If You See Kay🤘
Great great song. I love the line.
Running seems like the best offense
Staying just don't make any sense.
The song was written and recorded by Lorence Hud who had a Canadian top twenty with it almost a decade before April Wine's cover. I like both versions.
Interesting - didn't know it was a cover.@@chrisvickers7928
This Canadian loves April Wine 🍷 ❤❤
Your next “trip to Canada” should be Triumph. A great trio that will definitely impress you. Recommend Fight The Good Fight live from the US Festival. Please and thank you!
Battlestar Rush and Max Webster (a fantastic eclectic talented band). Studio version from Universal juveniles. Also high class and borrowed shoes, let go the line, check, the party. I've recommended this to every reactor out here. Be the first. Want guitar? Triumph rock and roll machine. Want amazing vocal Triumph magic power from US festival. You are missing out
LAY IT ON THE LINE
That US Festival show propelled them to US big time , they were already big in Canada. Saw them in Kingston ,Ontario in Canada 1978 excellent show just wish it was not so hot and muggy in arena . Everyone in crowd was drenched in sweat but it was fantastic
@@stillmeadowfarm Fight The Good Fight - Somebody's Out There
@@cb3450 love lay it on the line🤘
These guys are Nova Scotia's favorite sons.
Unfortunately the lead singer, Miles Goodwyn, passed about a year ago..
Thanks for sharing his music with your many fans.👍🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦
Sign of the Gypsy Queen, Weeping Widow, Just Between You And Me... so many more from this classic Canadian guitar rock band.
Just between you and me absolutely one of my favorites🎉😂❤
SAY HELLO! SAY HELLO! SAY HELLO! My favorite from April Wine!!

☮️❤️🎼😎
If You See Kay is a good one😊
When you said at the start you'd like to hear some guitars I was giggling inside knowing what was to come 😂
They were one of 3 big bands from Canada, RUSH , April Wine and Triumph. There was a big song writer/singer too, that recently passed ? Gordon Lightfoot, "the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald " very very sad song an true story.
How dare you leave BTO out🤪🥴🫵
The guess who
OH DAMN !!! That is crazy that I forgot BTO , because I jus saw Randy Bachman this past week, dahhh !!! He's still got it
@@FUBAR1986 I jus em too
Neil Young: _"Am I invisible to you?"_
April Wine is probably one of the BEST underrated bands out there. Pure GOLD! Yes, they had their fan base but they should have made it MUCH bigger than they did!
@dirtyburd71 If they had been an American band, they would have had a string of hits as long as your arm.
The layered guitar solos are epic!!
Tragically Hip- New Orleans is sinking!
Do Canada proud!!!🇨🇦🇺🇸
Classic song, growing up in Canada: we lived on: Rush, Triumph, April Wine, BTO, Guess Who, Tragically Hip, Red Rider ...because of CANCON...30% of all songs on the radio had to be by Canadian artists.... i feel blessed
CHOM FM in Montreal was the station of choice.
CFNY FM for me listening in Toronto.
RUSH agrees in "Spirit of Radio"!
I am waiting for Guess Who/Burton solo career. Someday, lol.
I always loved Red Rider, such great songwriting.
David Wilcox
Ahhhh, the days when bands actually had fun playing together....egos nowhere to be found, just joy playing great music together!
we wont kill ya for rewinding this banger...
It's going to be a good Mollyboy day. Classic rock X4!
Rewind Brother Rewind. Love it love your channel MB. AS ALWAYS PEACE.
I'm a Nova Scotian, these are hometown boys. They had a lot of hits but "Oowatanite" is my favorite.
we dont get bored because we love this music too enjoy when you rewind
So many great April Wine songs. I Like To Rock!
I saw April Wine open for Styx in 1978 in LA… some of us “old geezers” got to see the people you are starting to react to! 😊
Told you brother I’m your 70’s guru!
Saw them open for either Foreigner or Styx in 1979 in Tulsa OK. Really put on a good show.
@@kallsop2 Both sound like awesome shows!! This is my first time really listening to April Wine, and it’s 🔥.
Hoping MB will do more Foreigner and especially more Styx soon…though there are so, so many bands he’s still discovering, so I guess I’ll be patient 🤷♀️😂
I saw them open for Molly Hatchet 1981, and they blew Molly Hatchet off the stage. Mercer's an absolute beast on the kit!
RIP- Myles Goodwyn. As a old-school Canadian rocker I want to thank for this reaction. Rock on MollyBoy
Man, Canada has gifted the USA with so much great over many many decades.
One of my Favorite bands!
Canada rocks eh? 🇨🇦 ❤
April Wine ❤❤❤❤
You gotta check out triump, from Canada also hit their song "lay it on the line" you won't regret it ✌️&❤️
Oh yeah been waiting for you to hit this jam!✌️&❤️
Me too. I knew you'd love the guitars
Has me off my couch dancing
💃💃💃💃💃
You'll like this. First time I heard this was on the Chicago radio late 70's Ran out and bought the album as soon as i got money.
I'm a Canadian boy seen April Wine a dozen times in London ontario. Kick ass Canadian band.🇨🇦🇨🇦🤘🤘
I absolutely love their name
April Wine just such a kick ass name
I've made it my unofficial business to know all the good music from 1964 to 1999 and as great as these guys were, I have NEVER HEARD of these guys. How did these guys hide from me for so long?
you have a lot of great songs to discover ... enjoy
Canadian
@@danicampbell402 I'm tired of that being an excuse. What else you got squirreled away up there, hmm?
@ 😂😂we won’t tell…
I think this is the first song you have reacted to that I don't know.....what an absolute banger, thanks for bringing this to my 45 year old ears!
Same here. Hubby and I are both 60ish. He knows this band, I’ve never heard of them.
One of the most unheralded bands of all time! They had such a great unique sound! Sign of the Gypsy Queen is amazing as well!
Pat Travers - Smoking Whiskey & Drinking Cocaine- is another Canadian Banger!!!
@@ramonalfaro3252 Boom boom out go the lights!
snorting, not smoking.
Snortin whiskey
@@shawnwagner7662 Old man brain. I've smoked to much Whiskey.
Stevie from the Go For What You Know live album with him and Pat Thrall is great too.
I was a teenager in the '70s. We used to call this type of music "guitar rock" because it was focos3d on the awsome guitar work. The disco music of the time was all about the dance beat, some disco groups only had 1 guitar!
Unabashed, screaming guitar rock. Just right! Here we go! :)
From the kegger party era...8 tracks & driving around town looking for all the parked cars. (cassettes were semi new in 78)
Could Have Been a Lady, Rock Myself to Sleep, Bad Side of the Moon and Doin’ It Right just to name a few! Great choice! 🎸🔥
My favorite April Wine song, "Just between you and me." You and your gf would love this...
Say Hello, by April Wine probably my favorite
They could do it all, from hard rocking bangers to beautiful power ballads
Myles is from my hometown Woodstock NB and played at our local highschool in 1973 and they put on a hell of a show.. Myles told us their new album would be Weeping Widow (came out as electric jewels) blew the whole audience away.
Electric Jewels was the very first album I ever bought (I was 11 years old). Still have it.
Seen April Wine at a Rock festival in SLC in the 90s. Might have seen them as an opening band at Bob Segar at Salt Palace in 80s as well. That's a long time ago and there were too many substances involved 😅 Lot's of great tunes from them as the commenters hit upon. ❤
Definitely a banger!!!
I've never heard it before but I'm adding it to my everything playlist
I love watching you experience all these great bands. My friend & I grew up listening & talking music and we are both musicians. Your channel is like a trip down memory lane. You are a good dude MollyBoy! If you are ever in Los Angeles I'd love to talk music my Brother!
they have so many bangers - from rockers to ballads - make sure to include some live stuff
Three guitars 🎸 🎸🎸
Isn't it 4 lead guitars?
@ 1 bass. 3 leads. Right?
@@Nirad007 1 bass
Three leads-correct?
April Wine! Yeah, Canadian boys. Myles Goodwyn could rock a ballad too. See Just Between You and Me.
The guitar lineup is 🔥.
Yeah, if you like multiple guitar leads and dueling solos, this is the band for you. Really enjoyed watching you take this in.
A band criminally underated!!!
Another great Canadian rock band-seen them many times
“ I like to rock“
Absolutely the best intro ever!!!
If I was WWF…. it would be my intro.
I think you will agree!👍
MB I think you are going to like this band!!!
Sign of the Gypsy Queen for sure 😊
Most definitely!!!!
@juliepalmer yes please🤙
Canadian Rock at it's finest. Growing up in Canada as teen in the 80's April Wine was always played at parties and to jam out. Could have been a lady and I like to Rock are bangers too. They have tons of great song's. Glad you enjoyed it Molly
Peace out 🙏☮️✌️
This is definitely Playlist worthy!!!!!!
One of my favorite Canadian Bands!♥♥ them!!
"Layered guitar"... yeah thats great. Reminded me of a "call & response" intro by FOGHAT's "I Just Wanna Make, Love to You." Its 🔥
Yay, love April Wine! Thank you for this :)
As an aging Canadian who loves your channel and grew up on bands like April Wine , this reaction was fantastic. They had lots of hits here. Two other of my favourite songs of theirs are “Oowatanite” and “Crash and Burn”. There’s so much Canadian music that would catch you off guard and surprise you.
Another banger is "don't push me around" great band
I grew up listening to April Wine and they had tons of airplay!! I love their tunes!!! "Just Between You and Me", Sign of the Gypsy Queen", "I Like to Rock", were some of my fav songs.
Don't stop at one April Wine tune, that would be just silly.
I like to rock , Say Hello and Oowhatanite for starters
PLEASE REACT TO “I LIKE TO ROCK” by these guys. ITS KILLER!!!
Best "outro" ever. 3 guitar attack! Fat bass. Keiller drums. A perfect rock and roll song.
Not sure how many times I saw them live in the 70's. They played every arena in the Okanagan multiple times. Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and Kamloops B.C. too... What a great place to be a teenager through the 1970's.
I like to Rock or one more time...both good jams !🤘
April Wine = the most classic of Canadian rock and roll!!
Sign of a Gypsy Queen is an amazing track by them. Another Canadian gem band you would love is Max Webster. They toured with Rush often
Probably the most rocking song from April wine.
Another great Canadian Band
🍁 😁 sitting happy 'north of 50' lol, ❤ April Wine 🍷 & the Doobie Brothers ! Thanks mollyboy x
They're Canadian. Canadian rock and roll. 😂
Thanks for reaction sir! Love your picks and insights. 🤛 🙂
Say Hello - April Wine ✌
I've never heard April Wine before. I'm 70s start to finish. I loved this music. I don't think this Canadian band got as much play in the US, at least not in Seattle. Thank you!
Chilliwack! Please give them a listen. The song, My Girl
Wow, thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories. I saw April Wine in the late 1970’s in London, Ontario Canada. I’m so glad the younger generations are finally opening up to listen to what they once considered “oldies” and never appreciated what they were missing. True musicians, singers etc. When you saw a band live they sounded as good as the recordings (sometimes better). My first concert was RUSH, what a mind blowing experience that was.
“I Like To Rock” remains on all my different playlists. I had forgotten about “Roller.” Added. Thank you.
April Wine is a very tight and special band.
"I like to rock" is definitely my favorite of theirs.
I've seen April Wine live many times. In 1982 I saw them at the Montreal Forum along with 18,000 other fans. Jerry Mercer's drum solos are legendary. I got to interview him and lead singer Myles Goodwyn, who wrote most of their hits.
We in the early 70's were so lucky experiencing bands such as April Wine. They played at 2 of my high school dances back then and followed them around the Montreal scene with a few good buddies as groupies. What a great time we had. My favorite tune was Drop Your Guns. They played this tune at both high school dances.. So glad I was part of it..
Grew up in the 70's so this was and still is my go too...Saw them live absolutely amazing
Have ALWAYS LOVED THIS SONG!!! April Wine is AWESOME!! THANKS, MOLS, for reacting to this one, today!! HUGS!!
Wooow, grew up on these on Himalaya and other Carnival Rides at Ocean City Maryland as a kid. Awesome Days😎❤🎶🤙
One of the BEST bands ever. The song Just Between You and Me hits the feels🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
OMG!!!I forgot about these guys! Thanks for the memories
MollBoy... They are one of CANADA'S best ever bands with a lot of hits... We still play them on regular rotation here... NEXT you gotta try some of The Tragically Hip... "Trickle Down" or "little Bones" or "New Orleans is Sinking"
The way you hear everything is so impressive! You don't hear this music anymore! Love your reactions!!
Young man, good for you. I'm 62 years old. Yes the 70s, when rock and roll was rock and roll. This brings back Memories. Thank you.
Our Northern Rockers! Love "I Like to Rock!"
Molly is in guitar heaven with those 3 going back and forth!🎸🎸🎸Singer and drummer killing it as well!🎤🎼🥁🤘
Another fantastic Canadian band.
So much talent from my beloved Country.
Can't wait until Molly climbs into the rabbit hole of one of our greatest.. Bryan Adams.
Your expressions of amazement are PRICELESS!!! You can rewind back as much as you'd like my friend 👍
That's rock-'n'-roll perfection.rock on
April Wine was my very first live concert I attended when I was 16 years old! Thanks for the superb reaction. Takes me back!! ☮️
