"I Like to Rock" and "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" are also hits by April Wine. This is one of my favorites from them. Being 53, they were big in the 1970s and a lot of fun, a pre-cursor to 80s hair bands. They toured a year or two ago and I almost went and saw them. I really should have. What is really cool is they invented this stuff. What may sound ordinary today, was even more cool back then because no one had done anything like it before. Glad to see and hear you guys pick up on their sound today with so many choices of music to find this gem and appreciate it! Buddy says "I think there's gonna be a nice solo in this". All I could think was, prepare to have your face melted off, not one, not two, but THREE! guitars doing a "call and reaponce" style solo. Probably one, if not the best, guitar solos in rock history (no disrespect to Alex, Rick, Jerry, and other Canadian greats) 🤘⚡️🇨🇦⚡️🤘

There are so many hidden gems. This is sort of a forgotten song on classic radio rock. There are others. The rabbit hole is going to take years to explore.

Love to see your reaction to music I grew up on. If you want to hear another bad-ass Canadian musician you have probably never heard of, check out Colin James. He has lots of song, but my favorite was always Chicks Cars and the Third World War. It's got everything you guys love...killer vocals, guitar and sax!

From Canada ; these guys were my inspiration to play guitar . Bass , 3 six strings drummer to lead singers .
Fast train early radio hit , Miles Goodwyn lead singer , guitar , Brian Greenwood singer , guitar ,Bass Steve K. LANG he was awesome , Gary Moffatt guitar back vocals if you listen closely the guitars are alway playing a different part from the other or in a higher lower key. Especially on I like to rock which depicts the love from Stones Beatles and then their own rythm oh drummer Jerry Mercer u know

When they played it live, the spotlight followed each guitar as it soloed. As the changes got faster, the lighting followed in sync. Very cool to watch live.

Especially here in the states, April Wine is one of the most unheard and under appreciated bands in all of rock. Truly a Rock 'N Roll mystery I'll never solve. This review is a couple of years old, so by now you guys may have gotten to some of April Wine's other great tunes. But like, "Sign Of The Gypsy Queen" and "I Like To Rock" are very high on my list of all time great jams. I just discovered you guys today and I've watched your Van Halen "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" review and this one. I have sub'd and will be checking out your reviews often. Great job, guys. Lots of fun.

...I understand your tastes/preferences...and Love this take...I have a recommendation...Procol Harum Album: Barricades...song 'Simple Sister"...The lyrics are nonsensical but has a nice build, however 2 minutes and 33 seconds into this song you hit the Gold and hear a combination of instruments put together so well makes this the best part of this song...well worth the listen for where it takes you...Thanks guys
