This is literally the only video on the internet about this subject matter. The comments and video saved me a lot of headache and stress. I called the company that has now taken over customer service from cobra for this fuel tuner and the only thing he could really tell me was to make small adjustments when the engine is warmed up. The problem is, the tuner automatically set my fuel levels extremely high, right out of the box. I could tell the engine wasn’t running efficiently and I kept popping both O2 sensor codes on the speedometer. Because of the comments on this video, my engine is running better and no more codes. I almost returned the tuner and started shopping for a different brand. Thank you for your time.
It doesn't record anything and the bike has to be running. Once the bike shuts down it's all erased. The app is worthless . Everytime I messed with it , it just made things worse.
@@Hey_You_Me when I make adjustments in the app and hit the lock button, my settings stay where I left them. Even after turning off the bike. Does yours not do that?
@@Hey_You_Me yes. I set cruise at 4 and accel at 1. Now my bike runs better and I haven’t popped anymore O2 sensor codes. When I first installed the tuner, it automatically maxed out the fuel levels and I started popping check engine codes.
This is great! Make sure you start the engine before you try and connect! I tried for about 20 minutes to connect just by turning on the power and got really bummed before I tried starting the engine. iPhone 12 using iOS14. I was getting the common surging/hesitation/hiccup when cruising between 2k-3k rpm's on my Harley Fat Bob. Decided to increase fuel by 1% to the cruising fuel section and it helped a ton! Also made the bike feel smoother to operate and not so sensitive/jerky to slight throttle adjustments. You could tell the bike was running lean. I still got a slight hiccup, but not as intense or often as before. I am thinking of increasing fuel by 1/2 percent until the surging goes away, just don't want my gas mileage to suffer. Good vid. It prepared me for the power pro before I got it for my stock honda vt750 with KN filter and baffles removed. Better sound, smoother idle, runs cooler, smoother cruising, slight acceleration response. I'll mess with the app settings eventually. I had the android issue a lot of people have had. Could not connect the app. I learned that even though if all permissions are on, if location tracking for the phone is off, it will not connect. While connected I tested this and turned off location tracking. I was immediately disconnected from the unit and could not connect again until location was turned on. So that fixed the android problem for me. Location tracking must be turned on. Now I have no issues with the app. How to use it? I have no clue
for those who have a hardtime connecting, its a problem in app permissions give permissions in phone settings and it will connect,(like files, phone etc)
LOL, sad but true story: 2 weeks after I made this video, I washed by bike, and after that I could never connect via Bluetooth again. I have removed the unit from my bike, and may be working with the company to try and get an RMA. It's different not being able to customize the tuning, but the bike (2015 Honda Stateline 1300) is still pretty awesome without it.
I had same problem connecting to the unit with android phone and I found an solution for it ( at least it worked for me). If you are using android go to the phone settings -> Apps& notifications -> PowerPro Black -> Permissions and turn on Location, Phone and Storage -> Restart your phone. Hope this helps.
If you are using a Android phone the Power Pro Black may or MAY NOT connect or you may constantly view a message stating = "Retrieving data" with timing out on your android phone. Cobra will tell you its your Phone, not their unit-but NOT correct. "Permissions" must be "allowed" but they have more issues that they refuse to address. The unit does work with the IPhone. For such a cost of the tuner, the tuner should work with all phones. Cobra tech support told me to use the IPhone to make adjustments, but I feel for the cost of this unit the unit should work as they advertise it - "with all phones".
I know I'll get crapped on for this, but that's the reason I have an iPhone. Their operating system is rock solid and all of their apps are too because Apple makes sure that their developers apps pass their standards. Its the wild wild west in the Android market!

Don't be afraid to adjust one tick up or down at a time and see what works for your bike. If it's popping after you let off the throttle, I might dial the "acceleration" fuel back a half a percent. But that could make it feel even MORE sluggish than before. So perhaps going UP another half a percent? Also, while you don't necessarily need to "PowerFlo" Intake like Cobra sells, perhaps switching from the stock air filter to a "Hi-Flo" filter may increase the air mixture and help it breathe a little and resolve some of the popping.
@@waveriper20021 in that case yeah, you can definitely go under the acceleration menu to and probably add 1-2%. Try it out, sounds like you're getting more air than fuel, in that case. So make some adjustments, ride a couple of miles, stop in a parking lot, make some more adjustments, and don't be afraid to tweak it until it does what you want it to do! :)

If that doesn't show up, you can scan for bluetooth devices from your phone and see if it shows up. If it's not showing up at all, the PowerPro may be faulty. Also, if you see "tap to connect" but all it ever does is spin but never fully connect, it may also be broken. If the previous owner can reach out to Cobra, they may be willing to replace it, but unfortunately, a lot of times they won't help you if you aren't the original buyer. Good luck! Even if you can't get the PowerPro to work, enjoy that Vegas 8 Ball, it's a BEAUTIFUL bike!
I bought my "09" HD Sporster 883 Iron with this pile of poop in it . I can connect but 1/2 the adjustments do not work. Would love to take it out but have no clue where to start?
Mine got damaged and I ended up removing it. It is fairly simple, because Cobra does label everything pretty clearly - you figure out where the PowerPro is placed in line, and just remove it - disconnect it where it is in the middle of the lines, and connect those lines directly. It's all electronic, you shouldn't have to move any gasoline lines or anything like that.
Justin Roberts - after you "unlock" then "tap to adjust" you have to orate your finger around the dial on the opposite side of the red dot and bar... Intuitively, you would use your finger to rotate the dot around the dial but this works the opposite of that.
