I miss X-wing Vs Tie Fighter. In that game you can choose to destroy the engine, bridge or turrets to disable the ships. Here, you just point and shoot.
In this you can still destroy the shield generators, power generators, or weapons targeting systems of capital ships to make them easier to destroy. For the smaller frigates and light cruisers it is kind of point and shoot, but you can still destroy individual turrets and missile launchers.
I miss the older Tie Fighter (DOS) game - the graphics for the mid-90s were just OK (no 3D acceleration was available), but the gameplay was fantastic.
The older Star Wars fighter games are classics. I tried Star Wars: Squadron, and it felt weaker a more pathetic version of Star Wars. This game would have been great with some character changes and a little recoding.
I always thought that after years of training at a imperial fight school, the tie fighter has no shield against laser weapons and asteroids and it was a bit silly of loosing experience pilots just to save a few credits on shields for the tie fighters.
I feel like the drama on this level is a little bit forced (hehe lame pun). The Colonel could have used his resources as a bargaining chip to make the captain stay - "save me, and I'll give you whatever I have" sort of deal. But no, he just has to act like invoking an admiral's name isn't a big deal.
I would loved if they allow us to modify the TIEs into the Avengers, Bombers Striker mod, Defenders, Interceptors, Oppressors, Phantoms, Scouts, and the famous Alpha class XG-1 & Gamma Class ATR-6.

Similar to the original Battlefront 2 although it was way more fun to board and bomb inside

Why is our ship the slowest in the galaxy ?! The impression of speed is non existent. This is bad and boring. That's a pity.
