You are the BEST most creative and artistic furniture re-creator and instructor out there. This piece is beyond beautiful ❣️ I feel more confident about tackling my (9 piece ) dining room furniture now. Thank you.
Thank you for such a wonderful compliment I really appreciate that and I truly wish you well with every single piece that you’ve got ahead of you I know that you can do it just jump in feet first and have fun 😊❤️🙏
OMG!!! What can one say? The sideboard was a beautiful shape to start with, and then you turned into something MAGNIFICENT!! Blue and green must definitely be seen. FANTASTIC tutorial and no doubt will watch it many more times in the future. ❤❤ 👏👏👏
I don’t know what to say. This is my absolute favorite, so far. It’s stunning. I have zero inherent talent. I’m a copycat. What you’ve done, and are doing, is giving hope that I might perhaps create a beautiful hand painted piece despite the fact I can’t paint. What a brilliant product. Thank you for such great tutorials. They’re greatly appreciated.
I love watching and learning from you. Your paint techniques and even your tip about using the cardboard edge and stencil brush splatter are simple but genius! Thank you…this turned out BEAUTIFUL! 😊
This piece gave me chills. It is absolutely beautiful! I am looking forward to doing this on a Bombay cabinet as I follow this video. Thank you so much for making your tutorials easy to follow. ❤
Wow, what a huge transformation. Love the finished piece. Your creativity and imagination are through the roof, Johnathon. Your sessions like this one are so much fun. I can't travel to a class but I can learn exactly how to do these amazing projects from my bed, chair or wheelchair. It truly feels like we're all friends or locals❤
Your tutorials are absolutely marvellous Jonathan. Generous and beautifully explained with your lovely ideas, your boundless enthusiasm and skill. What a way to start the day - and me Iolling in bed with my cats on bitter frosty morning. Nice. X
Oh wow what a great mind to use all the texture and the cardboard, makes a big difference. Love love everything you have done to this masterpiece. Now I am not as afraid but please continue with tutorials. Thank you , Valerie
A challenging project. You need to bring your patience. Turned out gorgeous, the finished product looks like it has been around for centuries. Certainly, it has that European/Venetian look. Fantastico, bravo Jonathon!
Yes I couldn’t agree more perfect piece of design by the IOD girls I love it and of course I never use the central bouquet on this project so I’m looking forward to reconfiguring on another one maybe something with paler colours thank you so much for watching catch you soon 😊❤️🙏
What an imaginative design that is absolutely beautiful. I can in-vision this in a Victorian Home where the owner is sitting and drooling over her prize. Five Stars ❤
I love this tutorial! The longer length is great for those of us that need help with doing things like this. The piece is beautiful! Thanks for sharing your process.
Hi Jonathon, I just watched this video which was fabulous! I love how you think outside the box and created your own design. This inlay is my favorite. Thank you for all the fabulous tips you have given us. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
What an exquisite piece of furniture!! The inlay is so beautiful! Thank you for the tips and tricks for this. I use the rose chintz on an old cabinet door that already had several layers of chipped paint on it, I added more mixed with salt wash and some just straight paint. I used white chalk paint watered down over the door then cut out the roses, when it was time to release the inlay the roses came out quite distressed which fit perfectly on the chipped worn finish on the door. That was my sample board... trying this finish on an Eastlake dresser/mirror, so far looks beautiful not quite finished. I didn't know how I was going to add the topcoat so thank you for the tip of watered down lacquer!!
Oh wow sounds absolutely wonderful please send me some pictures over my other platform so I can see your end product I’m sure it’s gonna be absolutely amazing ❤️😊🙏
Jonathon, your work is absolutely beautiful and inspiring!!! I love all of your videos. This piece, by far, is one of your very best! I just love it. Your recreation of this piece is beyond words, sir! 😊❤
OMG! This is amazing. I've been binge watching furniture flips and remakes for almost two weeks. Where were you? Great lesson for me in this one also, not everything has to be perfect. Your creativity as you work is part of what made this lovely and unique. Thanks so much. I love this and will now deprive myself of sleep (unfortunately, not food or wine) until I watch all of yours.
Jonathan, what a gorgeous job you did on this piece - I absolutely love it. The colors and inlay are just stunning - beautiful Italianate vibe! Not only are you a talented artist, you are also an excellent teacher! 😊❤👏
I held my breath until the very end! It's nerve-wracking to watch the beautiful wood vanish without knowing how it'll turn out, but this guy manages to make it spectacular!
Absolutely stunning! I love these paint inlays and have enjoyed working with them myself! I have to say that this piece you did in this video is probably the most beautiful one I have ever seen with any of the paint inlays. Absolutely gorgeous.❤
I am using this inlay now. But not as busy. I cut up and used the main big floral as a center with swags on both sides. First time with inlays. But I can see where the cut inlay lays on the piece. There’s a difference. I posted on IOD’s creative group. I thought the paint was just what you see. I don’t know what I did wrong. Maybe you are not supposed to go to the edge of the design? A learning curve that’s for sure. His turned out beautiful!
@@shericreates yes I think that that is a circumstance. Everyone has to try to find a way around. I have used these both with paint and also with a clear polyacrylic… you definitely get the most clear reproduction of the inlay image with Polyacrylic. But I love the slightly more artsy rustic vibe with using paint… It’s less perfect which I like….. if you’re trying to achieve a very smooth surface, it can be challenging with the edges, but I typically go for a very textured surface and I find that it’s helpful to use additional slightly textured paint around the edges of the inlay afterwards… I also distressed mine a little bit, so it’s somewhat easy to take down the edge in that way as well. I’ve also seen people not putting as much pressure on the outside edge when you might say, “seating” the inlay. Cheers, happy creating!
Hi mr Mendez, what a stunning job u have made of this just blows me away , the unit is stunning anyway but the job u have done just brings a dull piece back to life, I’ve seen the iod girls demonstrate this technique and loved the look , time to find a unit and give it a go cheers again.

I bought the Chateau inlay set for a project recently, so was tickled to watch your demonstration using the same materials. I'm an antique wood & furniture restoration hobbyist, and I can't help but envision someone coming up on a painted sideboard at a thriftshop and taking it home to refinish it down to bare wood and condition the piece so the wood is back to it's natural state!
Oh thank you very much. Yes I do get one or two people a little upset about seeing the wood go but I assure you this piece of furniture is not as old as it perhaps looks just very good veneer over chipboard we do get quite a lot of this furniture in the UK, I’m pleased you liked the end, result in a positive way 😊❤️🙏
That was so much fun. Thoroughly enjoyed watching you create another masterpiece. Your anomalies always work out. You’d be wasted being a weather man 😂

I am somewhat of a perfectionist, However, the more I watch the different use of different products, the less I am "sweating the small stuff." I do like and getting use to the imperfections of the outcome. I am still watching, but compelled to coment. I will keep watching....
I've purchased a few of these inlays with this one being my favourite, I'm going to put this in the middle of my kitchen wall, which has a very pale pink background. This design reminds me of Scotland, probably because of the deers we had coming into our garden. Now living back in England In a city I miss the wild countryside. Lovely piece beautifully done.
Such a Beautiful piece! I am new to IOD. This is the first tutorial I could really pay attention to for some reason. Maybe because you are a GREAT teacher? Honestly, I learned so much from you. I wasn’t even interested in trying them before from what I had seen. But now, I think I really do want to try it! Thanks for taking such time to explain things so well, and WHY you do it. You made it seem very approachable. I also loved the green wash. Something I would have never tried to do. I almost bought that Furl (is that right) color once, but didn’t. I sure wish I had now. It’s so interestingly beautiful with the Blue. Your attention to every detail is just top notch. The cardboard touches for distressing and flicking the paint with a brush just add so much. I would never have thought of that. So much knowledge in this video. Some lucky person is going to get such a Beautiful and unique piece in their home. Thanks again Jonathon!!

You can join some of the separating cracks using brush to move paint to fill crack
Yes it’s so very clever I would’ve given that ago but I really loved the outcome with the cracks I think it gives it that time worn look but maybe next time around I will try and achieve more cleaning finish I think the possibilities are endless with this product 😊😊😊
Would love to watch you do a drop leaf table!!
I have done a flat finish with satin paint on a drawer it’s somewhere on my channel 😊😊

I am a recent subscriber, so I have only seen two of your furniture tutorials at this point. I like this technique much better than the paper napkin technique. It gives the piece a much richer, high end look! 👍😃
