Love you! and your immense talent! I was watching the vlog where you told about yourself. Enjoyed it so much! So you are a hairdresser also. My husband, RIP, had a brother who years ago ago had one of the largest shops in N.J. USA. I married and lived in NJ for 52 years. I'm originally from the state of Kansas but I loved my husbands big Italian family and NJ so much. My Jim passed 5 years ago and I miss him so very much. I'm back in Kansas City, USA now where i have a large family. I'm very interested in interior design and actually designed and had built our 2nd home at the Jetsey shore. It was beautiful, was so sorry I had to leave it when Jim passed. SO...I also wanted to offer my condolences on the loss of you Mother. I know how sad you must be. So I watch you for entertainment as I am 81...a few years ago I would have tried my hand at painting this old end table at the side of my bed but don't have the energy anymore. So you make all kinds of us happy. You are the BEST!♥️♥️♥️♥️😘
Again, you created another of your trademark works of art. What an exciting project this was, the results were spectacular and I enjoyed this video tremendously. By undertaking a first time encounter as an experiment, you bravely went out on a limb in front of your viewers. It was exciting to follow you on this journey of yours and I have to say, quite anxious awaiting the completion for the reveal, and keeping fingers crossed that all was to go well. Like many others, I was on the edge of my seat when your were going through the final steps of removing the inlays and sealing the work. This was a testament to your artistic temperament, as you maintained calm and patience throughout the process, and that was reassuring of your confidence as a creative artist. I love your custom made color to enhance the wood's color for this particular project, and how you arranged the stunningly beautiful inlays in such a way as to create a collage. For the handles, I was happy you chose the gold pair which I thought made the tray deservingly a bit more elegant. This is another inspiration you have left me with, so now I must gather up my materials and supplies without futher delay, and hope for the best and have fun!
Absolutely stunning! I have a 200 year old storage chest that I've been wanting to make over. The chest was covered with embossed leather, but the leather had seen better days. I had removed all the leather 2 years ago, and I've been waiting for inspiration to do something like this to it. I absolutely loved being able to use something else other than paint to place the inlays. Thank you for your wonderful tutorial.
Hiya I'm writing from New Zealand. Well, 1st of all, I wanna say wow, I love your work & the way you explain things. People that know me, know that I have a very short attention span, but you are the 1st person that has truly held my attention lol even my daughter way surprised 😮 😆 I look forward to watching more from you & I'm happy to be another subscriber for you 🥰
Jonathan, You are a visionary extraordinaire. My question is, how do you store chalk paint and wax, top coats. Can they be in an unheated , non- air conditioned garage. My climate in Maryland USA is pretty mild in winter, but can go to 30s now and then and summer is hot 90s quite often in Fahrenheit? or should it all come in the house ?
This was an excellent tutorial. I especially like you walking through the choices of colors to use for the paint stain and why. Using the color wheel is always a little intimidating for me. Your inlay into laquer and finishing touches were truly lovely. Bravo and thank you!
Thank you for showing us something different. I love the use of lacquer instead of paint for the inlays and using watered down chalk paint as a stain. You have given me all sorts of ideas! I love your channel.
I just received this inlay from Christi @ Texas In Laws and it's my very first inlay EVER! THE reason that I mentioned her, is because she is the individual that told me to come watch your channel. She said it was like watching magic when you lay down inlays and she was totally CORRECT! You did a beautiful job and I can't wait to learn more from you ❤
I just LOVE Your techniques with paint!! I never knew you could add water to it to create! I do it alot now ,So beautiful. Watching to see the finished project!❤❤❤
Hello. I just started watching you. I love your tray with the inlays. It’s different. I really like how you go into depth when your explaining instructions, and giving us options. You are very talented and creative. Awesome!!🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰
Wow, I absolutely love it!! Definitely going to try on a small piece of furniture!! Thank you so much for experimenting and trying out different techniques for us and sharing!!😊 xx
?? Stunning. Im new to all of this and been binging on you. Instead of mixing varnish and water could I just use a water based spray varnish from a shop ????
What did you learn as to whether paint inlays can be reused when applied over lacquer/ sealer? I would appreciate going to school o. Your experience rather than the school of trial and error! Thanks so much, Pauline From Virginia (USA)
What a beauty, I just love this project so informative !! Had to miss the live but I felt like I was learning so much!! The inlays scare me and you use them with such ease. I am definitely going to copy this piece watching the video at the same time and pausing at every phase! Could you please tell me the size of the board you used so I can purchase the same size for the IOD inlay, and again I just loved this project and Thank you for your time spent.
Since inlays cost so much retail, how much would you charge for this lovely tray? I always hesitate when deciding to use my inlays given the additional cost of selling the item I've used them on.... Would this tray actually be worth charging at least $100. or reasonably more?
Love this project! I have two similar boards that I found in my 300 year old house but they are much longer. I was thinking of making a coffee table or sideboard. Is there a link to purchase the inlays? I can't wait to get started.
Yes you can. They all will work perfectly well just a little less time with drying the new wood with chalk paint thinner. Just wait till you’re in. Lee has dried on the top surface and then you’ll be good to remove
Good question, I’m not too sure that you can use them over again once the lacquer is on the paint side, but I’m thinking you could dry them out and use them as decoupage for smaller projects

Lovely... my style..
Such a cool piece, you truly inspire me!
Beautiful. I’m confused as to why you put lawyer and water in spray bottle. Was it to set the inlays?
Lovely work ⭐️

Gorgeous! Where to buy IOD? I’m in Ireland so sadly the Uk market is not viable anymore due to VAT costs.

I’ve been using spray sealer for first top coat to avoid spots from the 50/50 mixture
Hi. What spray sealer do you use?
@@fizzyfairy I use Rustoleum but any aerosol spray top coat or sealer works.
