I am catching up with some missed Jonathan projects today. This one is fabulous not just because it's Jonathan and furniture and a gorgeous result, but especially because you let us share your joy as you were surprised by a visit from a dear friend and colleague ❤❤. It made me so happy to see you so happy😊 and this is a very sad season of loss for me, so thank you for that, Jonathan. ❤🙏
I’m so sorry to hear it’s been a difficult time for you, but I’m also very pleased that you’re here and it has been a little bit of a tonic and wishing you much love and creativity. Thank you for watching 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️
Been binge watching these since I found the channel a week ago, and this is my favorite so far. The soft blue and soft yellow plus antiquing. I’ve been saving some calendar pages for a decade until I could find a source to learn decoupage. I’m kind of amazed it has taken me so long to find schooling on this. Love Jonathon’s expertise and creativity. That he shares the creative process I find VERY helpful. ❤❤❤
Gosh, thank you very much and I want to wish you a very warm welcome to my channel. I hope you can find some great inspiration and direction, of course, still making it all your own. Wishing you all the very best for your future projects.
I’ve been doing the same. My head is swimming with all the new techniques I’m seeing. I’ve actually re-watched one and parts if others, as well as sharing with family
This is such a soothing and romantic piece, I love it! and big things DO come in small packages. Everything about this little gem is perfect and is good for the soul.
I've been anxiously awaiting a Jonathon upload! Getting a bit dependant upon the Jonathon Inspiration! You're addictive! lol Cant wait!!! ... PS: I want to be Jonathon's next door neighbor!
You would always be welcome in my studio and never fear. I’ve already uploaded next weeks tutorial. I’ve tried to get ahead of myself with having such a busy September travelling and teaching so at least to this month. Maybe potentially I’ll get another one in 😊😊
@@JonathonMarcMendesPaintedLove I was Thirsty for your Creative! I appreciate your works and know that "time to get centered, rested, have fun" are absolutely the 1st Priority, then all else flows with ease. Hugs! ... and Mr M too! Beth Tennessee, USA
Thank you for sharing your expertise, you have definitely inspired me to paint my 1950’s kitchen dresser, bought from a junk shop over 20 years ago. I love your work, your tutorials brighten up my day. ❤
What an amazing little piece! And that bottom shelf is to die for. Gorgeous and I loved your choice for decoupage paper in the drawer. Another masterpiece. Thank you for taking the time to share.
Oh my! What a pleasure you are. I absolutely love everything u do. Just found u a week ago. So mesmerized and inspired. You have such a great asthetic eye. A true artist. I love you! ❤❤❤❤❤
Jonathan it was awesome to catch you live today. What an awesome piece. Thanks to you and your technics I now am able to apply my inlays with no big issues
I always much admire your knowledge and skills set whether I like your choices and results or not. I am happy to say that I love what you did with this table. I agree that it needed to be "aged" so that the refurbish did not make it look factory fresh which would detract from its charm. I especially applaud your decision to put an inlay in the center circle of the leg brace. That circle screams for attention and perhaps was intended for a plant or ornamental vase. Since I think it would be difficult to find a complimentary art object I am delighted that you used an inlay to occupy that circle and gave it a reason to exist. The one thing I would do differently is replace the drawer knob. Since only one small knob is needful, a person can splurge, perhaps a clear faceted crystal knob or a white porcelain. There are some gorgeous specialty knobs.
Oh I L❤VE what you did! Perfect! And, as always the styling is 'par excellence'! That is - the trio of the pewter jug, the knob on the drawer-front AND (the black waxed thread?) on old perfume bottle. Brilliant! The flowers were almost not needed in the 'Dutch Old Master' feel and stillness of the finished table and wall colour! 🎉
I love these little pieces that we all feel we need to rescue! Love this one Jonathan! I still have my "rescued" piece in my sun room waiting for inspiration - I think this may be it!!!
So funny if I was to choose a colour that suits me the most it would be blue, but I don’t often paint furniture blue I would say green is definitely my favourite colour for furniture
Good Afternoon from Milwaukee, WI. I think this piece is one of my most favorites, Jonathon. It's exquisite!! Thank you for sharing this. You've given me new courage to try an inlay one day.
So lovely. 😇😇😇 and the visitor! Wow! Sollyjo so good at every tutorial of hers I’ve seen. Enjoyable. The two of you brightened up my old life… thank you both for everything. Ann from Iowa,USA🇺🇸
aah sooo pretty. love its simplicity and elegance. Very french country, maybe in a bedroom or bathroom, hallway or can you imagine a little girls bedroom with a crystal drawer knob
Wish you would do more about hardware and switching out old for new knobs, pulls, etc. . Also have you looked at the catalog for the Richard Kime Auction in October by Drewatts? Always wonder to look at someone with superb English taste. Thank you for all you do to inspire us.
That paper in the draw is amazing. When I saw the photos you posted on Facebook, I thought you had placed a pair of gloves in there. As always beautiful work Jonathan and what a lovely surprise seeing Solly Jo. Two for the price of one 😊
Hello Jonathon. I love all your beautiful tutorials. I have painted an end table and I painted the draws as well. I can't fully close the drawers. Can you give me advice if you have time. Thank you and again I must tell you how much I enjoy your videos.
Gorgeous as always Jonathan! I've never used inlays...do they set down inside of the paint, or on top like a transfer...or are they raised? If you get a chance, i would love to learn so hopefully i could TRY to make something as beautiful as what you have made here...thank you sir!!
Simples e bonita!
How do your painted makeovers stand up to usage, wear and tear etc? In my experience surface prep is essential, cleaning, degrease, sanding, sanding between coats, if the paint is going to be chip resistant and hard wearing. I am sceptical about the lack of prep in your videos.. not to say that is a criticism btw.. I may well have something to learn indeed!! 🙏
I suppose it really depends on the substrate and the product you’re using Annie Sloan paint I have to say is absolutely the best product for no prep. It’s designed that way and many of the pieces you may have seen me create some of my tutorials. They are really standing the test of time some of them are now in their 10th year and still looking pretty good, but then again I do a lot of distressing which is very forgiving over time only increasing its beauty, but overall I would say pretty good
I’ve noticed that some two part wood fillers do not hold up. I suspect from your lovely pieces that you know which fillers hold up well. Can you recommend a brand name?

What a very lovely shape connecting the legs! ❤ Am eager to see what you did!

I want to try the painted inlays…but hoping you design some for .IOD
I think that could be quite good fun 😊😊😊
Such a pretty piece. One question, when you say lacquer do you mean a poly urethane top coat?
No, he is referring to Annie Sloan Water Based Lacquer which is not the same as polyeurathane.
❤ ❤
What’s the difference between using stencils, transfers, découpage and paint inlays? Which one should be used for what look and purpose?
How do you get inlays with your family members incorporated into them??
🌞🌞
Sollyjoe , I am struggling to find posh chalk and woodubend products in Australia, where can I please buy them 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Where can I get the decoupage paper? It is so beautiful..
IOD. iron Orchid design. Or search for paint inlay, many choices out there.

What is the wood filler you used for this project?
It said two part wood filler
I’ve noticed that some two part wood fillers do not hold up. I suspect from your lovely pieces that you know which fillers hold up well. Can you recommend a brand name?
Hello to Sollyjo😊
