But the new loaders are loud. I didn't really notice when I went to the local field until a bunch of teenagers heard my old revy and went "Holy shit that is hopper is quiet". I bought my wife a rotor and it is ridiculous at how loud it is. But yeah I guess it is quiet for a newer marker. I still have my Tippmann Pro-Lite with a 16" all american barrel from when i first started playing. It is quieter than just about every new marker out there.
$900? you've got to be kidding me. This is a minimally upgraded rsx. The power button you were describing sounds like a deal because my rsx got dirt inside the button after only a few weekends of use which caused my gun to stop powering on.

I would consider the shocker xls, mainly because it is lighter than the DSR and it has a much better barrel system. Plus the shocker is a tried and true platform and the xls is just a refinement of it so you know its gonna work. As for the dsr it may be awesome or it may just flop no one really knows because no one has really tried it out.
I don't know about better barrel system. I would much rather have backs than having to use inserts. Nothing wrong with inserts I just found that having sized backs are a little more consistent than the thin aluminum inserts. Plus IMO the dye ultralite is quieter barrel than the All American barrel which I believe (but can't prove) is due to the muzzle break on the end of the barrel. I shot the DSR it wasn't bad. Pretty much like shooting a DM15. There really is nothing about the DSR that would justify me spending that much money when i could go and buy a used DM14 or DM15 and get the same if not slightly better performance out of it. Out of the two though I would say the XLS, not because of the barrel, but because it is lighter, the on/off is better, you don't have to worry about an eye pipe, maintenance is easier, inserts are cheaper to buy than the barrel backs.

"You don't have to worry about your gun". Is that why the trigger frame on my 160r bent/broke? I can tell you I have tried to like Planet Eclipse stuff but I will all day, every day take an Axe Pro over Gtek 160r.
If this shoots anything like the RSX then I would say yeah. Plus the screen on the M2 was a huge turn off for me. I haven't held or shot the XLSm but the ergonomics on the M2 IMO weren't that comfortable.

No. You'd need a complete OG Freak barrel to use older Freak inserts.

No, it doesn't have a lot of kick.
It also needs to be broken in. My 160r when new had that much kick to it.
