Just throwing this out there in the hopes that it is useful to anyone considering the new XLS. My local speedball park rents out high-level competition markers to "advanced players"; they have in the past rented out M2/R2/Ninja 68/4500 kits to me and other players (which is great because tourney guns like that are way out of my price range). When I went in to play today, they offered to let me try a new XLS fresh out of the box. One problem that we all quickly discovered was that the feedneck appears to be slightly too small to easily fit some hoppers. We tried fitting an R2 on; we got the hopper on but when I so much as touched the clamp on the feedneck to try and tighten it, it came apart. The clamp has tons of tiny pieces, so it took me and the pro shop guy about 5 minutes to put it back together/on the gun. We loosen it and try to tighten it again, same thing happens. Later, when I traded guns with another guy so he could try the XLS, the clamp came off AGAIN (not sure how, as the hopper was already on!). I of course had left my Spire 260 at home or I would've just stuck it on... We tried various hoppers, and the only one we found that comfortably fit and didn't cause issues with the clamp was a Spire 260. Other than that little problem though, I loved the gun. It shoots smoothly with very little recoil, the trigger feels very responsive, and the gun is extremely lightweight. Just watch out if you have a Rotor R2!! I hope this helps and would love to know if other people have (or haven't) had this issue!
What field?
I shoot an XLS with a Dye R2 loader and I haven’t had any issues with it. If you rented that XLS and had issues, it’s likely it wasn’t new like they said it was.
How long did that last?
Picked one up to replace my Etek 4, along with a Spire IV and a HK Aerolite Extra Lite with the pro adjustable reg and it shoots like an absolute dream. Thanks for making this video Brad, it was a huge decoding factor. Keep up the great work!

Brad since you are obsessed with markers being too "small" I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Vanquish 2.0
Its because he has very large hands, so many medium, to small markers are to small for his huge hands.
haha, im just to big I think that the problem. Thats why I always try to emphasize preference.

So the XLS is essentially the 160-R/Axe Pro version of the RSX
Yeah pretty much, at least with the RSX/XLS they did change the bolt/operating pressure.
I know this isn’t about the shocker but would you buy a used Macdev clone 5??

#pbqt What paintball pants would you recommend to tall players? I am 6'5" and have bad knees. Should I get pants with a lot of padding in the knee such as the PbRack Flow pants or just wear knee pads or a combination of both?
Maybe both, I could not imagine playing with out knee pads.

To me the XLS feels like a refresh of the RSX and not an entirely new marker. If SP made all of the fixes and kept it at $700 it would be much more appealing. The $900 price point for this and the DSR seems odd when the Gtek 160R is only $700 at the moment.
Im with you, I do think they should have just killed off the RSX and at least come in with the XLS at $800.
IMO it is because both are better guns than the Gtek 160R. To me my Gtek 160R felt like it had the same frame size as my RSX, but not as comfortable. At least with the XLS and DSR you don't have to worry about your frame bending or breaking.
Wonder if further down the road, it’ll have the same bolt issue that the rsx had🤔🤔🤔

I dont get all the planet eclipse nuthugging, they make good guns but they still have issues like any other gun, and in my useless anecdotal experience i havent had any p/e guns without issues, if you dont drag your shit through mudholes and you keep it clean, and it isnt a dangerous power or electro azodin it's going to be personal preference. I would advise people to shoot the different guns in the price range and get the one you like. Im not arguing against the 160r but i feel like the shocker is a good competitor and i dont see how it's of lesser quality when p/e has known frame issues since forever and they still have that stupid pipe. Im not a pe hater by any means and i really dont think the 160r is worth the extra 2-300 for imo a worse air line setup and a better bolt system compared to the plane jane gtek, unless the polymer grinds your gears that much.
I'm having a problem with my drone 2. Basically, it will start at 278, but if I start firing fast, it will go down to 220. Help?
Could be a lot of things. I would, change battery, check settings, grease, change o-rings, set pressures.
check FSDO settings and rebuild the reg
Is it using the same bolt as the rsx?
I want to get a new gun and im looking to spend between 300 and 500 dollars what do you think. I was looking at the dangerous g5 should I plan on getting that or something else
If I had that to spend I would for sure go for the Etha 2.

I would go DSR, like the way it feels and shoots over the XLS.
XLS. The DSR to me felt like a DM14 or DM15.
The XLS is surprisingly great for the price. I would almost say it performs better then PE and Dyes high end spools like the CS1.5/2 and M2/3. It has the best efficiency and it’s super consistent over the chrono. It even has a control bore on par with the CS2 shaft FL barrel.
I would still take the CS2 though since it looks and feels better to me and saving 900$ isn’t an issue.
Should i get the xls or the clone 5 ?
