- Expert chef Frank from the Institute of Culinary Education and home cook Gabi are swapping materials and hoping for the best! We gave Gabi $260 worth of ingredients and Frank's recipe notebook, then asked her to recreate his pork chop dinner as best she could. To lend a remote helping hand, food scientist Rose dialed in for a brief teleconference and pep talk. On the other side, Frank received a meager $17 worth of supplies and tried to improvise his way up to gourmet. Who’s got the chops to succeed under these mixed up circumstances?

You can’t use a word that defines an association to death and disease to describe how flavorful something is. I think a lot of ppl just think morbid means fat or surplus and it doesn’t. I came here and learned 2 things:
1. Gabi is the type of person who will make your life more enjoyable
2. Frank will teach you about how to live your life
I really like these shows. Especially this series. It basically has 2 gourmet food. One made with expensive ingredients and the home cook would follow the chef's recipe, so it's bound to be amazing. And one where the pro works with simpler ingredients and show their mastery of flavor. Very interesting to watch.

This is hands down the best episode I've ever watched.
Frank playfully gets upset when his ingredients are taken, but you can tell he enjoys working with the basic stuff too, and he legitimately loves seeing what these level 2 chefs can do with stuff they'd never get to use otherwise.

Despite not eating pork and never intending to make either of these recipes, I've still watched this video at least four times. They are so pleasant and personable.
Frank is so entertaining. He is definitely one of my favorites.
This is a good combo! Frank, because it's Frank. But really, he's good in front of the camera, giving good tips, and he doesn't fart around with stuffy BS. Gabi is entertaining and comfortable in front of the camera and that is awesome, and most importantly she likes Frank as much as the comments section here, hahaha. I think she's a good counter to Frank, and basically a good stand-in for the knowledge level of the home viewer!
