Wait a minute..how do I download the youtube app from store? It's not there I like my new surface pro, but am missing youtube and Prime apps. Can someone help?
Microsoft Helps i have to still admit that although all my services/products and apps and subscriptions are dominated by Microsoft (in my iPhone, Xbox, and MacBook), I still cannot get over the UI experience of Windows. It’s too complex for Apple users to get over on. I almost bought a Surface laptop 💻 3 . Deep down I knew I wasn’t going to be happy with the user face, so I bought a MacBook 💻, even though the Surface hardware is equal or better than MacBooks. I have recently purchased the Surface Pen (Microsoft) to be used in conjunction with my Surface Laptop and I must say, it is an excellent product. "Simplicity" and "Efficiency" are what springs to mind. 😎
I was feeling unsure about my purchase of the Surface Pro 7. This video alone was eye opening and helped me understand functionality much better. I'm excited to start figuring out what it can do. Thanks for the info!
Even though this video is from last year, it certainly helps knowing that instead of seeing my terrible handwriting I can now have it automatically become neatly typed words. I don't know if I will do this instead of using the keyboard, but it certainly is nice to know I don't have to set down my laptop with the foldable keyboard if I want neat words.
I honestly always type way faster with a keyboard, even when typing on glass. For me the pen is more for sketching or things like that, but still searching for its value. Thanks for the video 👍
Very detailed! Funny story! Just bought the Surface Laptop Go and said wow, cool! A pen to go along with it! Got it and the inking is not compatible 😂😂 so now I’m gonna spend more money on one I can write on and keep the laptop too!!! Wasn’t even thinking about a pen at first!
Does anyone know how to set up the pet with the button working as an eraser? I got the pen almost a year ago, and somehow (I can't remember) set it up so that in the art program I use, I can erase with the button like a normal pencil. This was very helpful, saving the time it took to change tools. I lost the pen for a few months, and recently found it. I paired it with my surface go again, but the eraser function is gone. Any help would be appreciated :D
I'm sure this all works really well during the time you're not trying to violently put your forehead through the screen after hours of dealing with and troubleshooting any number of windows many characteristic software "surprise mechanic" quirks.
I have a pen from my HP laptop but I'm considering getting a Surface Pen. My only issue with these pens is the buttons being so flat. It makes it hard to feel for and use without taking your eyes off your work. I've also found that even using the on screen keyboard is much faster than using a pen, but for design and signing documents the pen is nice.
Do you have to stop writing after each word for it to recognize the word or can you just continue writing? I initially go the surface pen but ended up returning it because I couldn't find the use for it. I said to myself, there's gotta be a much better use and it should work on most apps.
I want to use a stylus as an actual mouse - scrolling/touching on my desktop surface rather than having to touch the screen for input to take place. Does such a thing exist?
Hello and thank you for doing this video. Could you please explain how to use the pen to take notes and hold your hand in the screen? I am having problems to write with my pencil because I the touchscreen doesn't recognize the pen when I hold my hand, and very uncomfortable to use it in the air. Thank you and look forward hearing back from you
Is there a way to use the window u're wrinting on as a magnified view of where u're trying to write in the screen? Like the app notibility's zoom feature?
Hi I use MIcrosoft Surface Pro 4 . I connected my pen to Surface and its button is working do screenshots but Icannot write with it. What do you think problem is?
I’m quadriplegic and having to hold a button down on the pen to operate a function just ruined using it I had to sell my surface pro because of it. Apple on the other had has the accessibility AssistiveTouch. Also to copy and paste you just have to double tap a word and it gives you options that Microsoft doesn’t. I brought this up with windows and they pretty much said it is what it is.
Hi there, Karrar. Glad that you've reached to us. We can see that you have a concern regarding your Surface Pen and know how it feels when something isn't working as it should. We'll do what we can to help the situation you're in. For us to do so, we'll be asking some questions below: • Which Surface Pen model are you using? This link: msft.it/6052VswPM can help you identify which you have. • When you say the pen stopped working, did you mean it's not inking? • When you press the pen cap down for 5 - 7 seconds, do you see the LED light or not? We'll wait for your response.
How do you select portion of graphic or photo to save in a file? Accustomed using Samsung pro and press button on pen to select an area and save to scrapbook before it stopped working
I've bought Surface Pro7 and keyboard in Alcantara, 2 weeks ago, and now I'm looking for the Pen but I am very confused on my choice about the weight, since the Platinum model weighs 50g while the Blue Ice model (like my keyboard) weighs 400gr. Why? I draw a lot, so I don't want excessive weight to tire my wrist, but I have to understand why, and if weight means better or different performance. I want to buy it soon, thanks if you want to help me understand which one to choose. They both cost the same.
I have phantom touch problem in my surface pro 4 ; I wonder if the screen of Pro 3 is compatible with that of Pro 4?!! Because I was looking for Pro 4 screen one cable but Microsoft no longer produce it..
Hi there. That would good feature to have and help improve Windows 10 experience. We'd suggest that you submit a feature request on our Feedback Hub app to let our developers know and have a visibility of the request. Here's how you can do it: msft.it/6055Tl265. All the best.
My pen after working on it for long period about 2 years without any damage to it . He just stop working and yes I tried to change the battery but it stell doesn’t work !!!!!
The only thing I don't like is how the eraser is on the back. The older pen had the erase button before the right-click button, and it was far more convenient.
Hi there. Glad that you've reached out to us, and we see that you have a concern regarding handwriting field that doesn't open after clicking on the keyboard. For us to assist you accordingly, we'll be asking you some questions below: • Which Surface model are you using? • When did you start to experience this? • Where there any recent changes made on the device? • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far? We'll wait for your response.
@@MicrosoftCustomerSupport Hi, thank you for the fast response! I bought a Surface Book 7 just a few days ago. I am not aware of any notable changes other than the Updates Windows has been sending me. After watching the video, I tried to use my pen in the Microsoft Edge browser. When I clicked on the keyboard, the keyboard appeared but I couldn't switch to the pen mode when entering passwords. For Google, searches it works perfectly fine, but sadly not for passwords. I looked for ways to fix this in the settings, but didn't find any specifically related to passwords and the Surface pen.
Thank you for letting us know and for providing those additional information. Windows 10’s handwriting keyboard allows you to enter text into any application using a pen. However, using of handwriting feature in entering password may not be available since these items are case-sensitive, uses numbers, and/or symbols. In your case, we can suggest submitting a feedback about this using our Feedback Hub to let our software developers know and to have a visibility of these concern. You can use this link: msft.it/6052TvV6e for reference on how you can do it. All the best.

Hi! Thank you for reaching out. :) To answer your question, you do not need a screen protector for your Surface Book 2. For your reference on how to use your Surface Pen, please check this link: msft.it/6055TnZjh. Thank you and have a great day!

i have a question.. my laptop is not touchscreen (i dunno if it is) but i saw the feature in my settings about WINDOW PEN so is it possible that i can use it
Hi there! Thank you for reaching out, and we apologize for the late response. We understand you wanted to know if you can use a Surface pen on your device. We would definitely take a look at your concern. For us to check, may we know the model of the device you're using? We'll be here for any feedback. Thank you!
Thank you for getting back to us. As per checking, if your device does not have any touchscreen functionality it means that setting is only applicable for those who has touchscreen. The screen needs to be a touchscreen to support the Stylus pen device. You may also contact your device manufacturer for further assistance regarding this matter. Let us know if you have any other Microsoft related concerns you would like to be assisted with.
Using the handwriting input panel...how do you get it to stop underlining all of the text? I am using Word, and do not have underline selected up in top toolbar. Hitting enter after I write a sentence gets rid of it, but then I'm starting a new paragraph, which I don't want to do. I am using a brand new Surface Pro pen, and have a Surface Pro 5 with Win10 1903. Much appreciated if anyone knows how to resolve this!
Hi there. We saw your post about having issues using your Surface Pro pen. Apologies if we didn’t respond on time, and we’ll do our best to help you sort this out immediately. Were there any changes made before the issue happened? Are you getting any error messages when experiencing this issue? Also, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
@@MicrosoftCustomerSupport No changes made. This is a new device and a new pen. No error messages...it's just converting my handwriting to text with an underline.
Our sincerest apologies and thank you for the additional details. Since it’s converting your handwriting with an underline, we suggest following the steps provided by Qing Tang MSFT here: msft.it/6052TSxJq to further troubleshoot the underline issue you’re experiencing when using the handwriting input panel on your Surface Pro 5. Let us know how it turns out.
Hi there. We hope that everything is fine now on your end. We recently discussed your concern when using your Surface Pro pen. You said that it keeps putting underline on the text when using handwriting input panel. We immediately asked you for some details and provided you a community thread to further help troubleshooting your concern. In case you missed it here's the link: msft.it/6054TS7a4 just check the steps provided by Qing Tang MSFT. Kindly share your experience with the Social Media Team by clicking here: msft.it/6055TS7af. We hope that we were able to help you here in the Social Media support before we close your case. Be safe and stay healthy.
@@MicrosoftCustomerSupport I found a workaround...if I hit the spacebar icon in the three dots menu from the handwriting input window, the underline goes away on the document. I just have to remember to do that each time before I close the input window. It's extra steps that are unnecessary though...why is the underline showing up at all? This only happens in Word and Excel and not in a search or text field box.
How do we charge it without Signature Type Cover. I bought the Surface Pro X with Singature Bundle and now I regret the decision. My Keyboard stopped working and now my Pen became useless as well.
Hi Saj. We understand that you're having an issue with your Surface Pro X, as your keyboard and pen stop working. Let sort this out together. Hi Shatakshi. We understand that you're asking if the Surface Pen will work on a non-touchscreen device. We'd love to check on this for you. The computer screen must be a touchscreen. The stylus works by touching the screen, which is a digitizer. In Windows, the stylus’s touch is interpreted similarly to the mouse movement. You can point the pen at the screen, touch the screen, and manipulate items in interesting ways. We hope this information helps. -ken

This changes everything! Thank you so much!
Is there a way I can use my surface pro and pen merely as a writing tool for my desktop? Like write on the content on my desktop using my pro and pen?

I want to use a stylus as an actual mouse - scrolling/touching on my desktop surface rather than having to touch the screen for input to take place. Does such a thing exist?
Thank you for sharing information. Can I ask which software you used like the paint??
Hello and thank you for doing this video. Could you please explain how to use the pen to take notes and hold your hand in the screen? does Surface Pen works only for Surface devices?
Can we use it on the desktop pc?
I’m quadriplegic and having to hold a button down on the pen to operate a function just ruined using it I had to sell my surface pro because of it. Apple on the other had has the accessibility AssistiveTouch. Also to copy and paste you just have to double tap a word and it gives you options that Microsoft doesn’t. I brought this up with windows and they pretty much said it is what it is.

Can I use surface pen on classic (non touch screen) laptop ???
Hi Shatakshi. We understand that you're asking if the Surface Pen will work on a non-touchscreen device. We'd love to check on this for you.
