    That is so cool, Max. It looks so simple but I think you must have put a lot of thought into it.

      Thanks, actually it came together quite quickly. I think I spent one hour in CAD. I added piece by piece and started with the biggest items first and used the small ones to fill the gaps. Thanks for watching!

    Great video just a note that 300C is a bit hot to put in heat set inserts in petg. I insert heat set inserts into ASA at only 220° c and that material prints out at 240- 245° c

    Nice build, you've earned my subscription. Looking forward to seeing more of your content. Two questions:
    1. Where did you get your printer enclosure? I've been contemplating building one, mostly using what I already have, not going great.
    2. You printed that whole base in 27 hours, I'm printing something now, using PETG, which isn't even half as big and it will take 49 hours. Any tips on speeding it up? I'm using an Ender 3 pro and astroprint.

      Welcome to the channel!
      1. I just built it in March from 20mm plywood. The window is a commercial house window which saved a lot of time and is super functional. It comes with the handle and hinges already attached.
      2. I printed in 0.20mm layer height. I think that makes the biggest difference. I also used almost no infill. The part was too thin for that anyway. You can very often print entirely without infill.
      You can also print in 0.20mm layers, but use 0.10mm layers for the visible outside.

    How does that solder sucker work for you? Just got one, and I don't think I have the technique figured out yet.

    • @MaxMakerChannel
      @MaxMakerChannel  4 года назад

      You cock it, heat up a solder joint and with the other hand quickly position the nozzle over the molten solder. Then you press the button and the solder is gone. Repeat a few times.

    Question: You don't use a exhaust fan during soldering?

    • @MaxMakerChannel
      @MaxMakerChannel  4 года назад +1

      I personally don’t. I hold my breath until I cannot smell it anymore, but if I do a long solder, I wear a respirator. I always have one handy. Especially now.

    • @RexusKing
      @RexusKing 4 года назад

      @@MaxMakerChannel Ah, I didn't think of using a respirator! I've been using a big 110V AC fume extractor when soldering, and it's making it difficult to go mobile like your setup. May I ask what type of filter do you use for your respirator?

    • @MaxMakerChannel
      @MaxMakerChannel  4 года назад +1

      I use 3M respirators and I use the 6055 filters. For my welding helmet, I use a ABEK1 filter from 3M. They are great for particles and also most fumes.

    • @MaxMakerChannel
      @MaxMakerChannel  4 месяца назад

      Yes, but I don´t want to print that stuff. I can get little boxes in many shapes and sizes from a German plastic manufacturer for 1-3€ a piece. In my opinion its not worth printing that many containers when I can buy something similar for so cheap.

    Wow echt cool. Wieviel hat denn der Ersa gekostet? Sehe das der so um die 150€ kostet. Findest du ist das das Geld wert? Cooler Workshop👍

    • @MaxMakerChannel
      @MaxMakerChannel  4 года назад

      Ich glaube ich habe sogar 170€ gezahlt. Das Ding ist wirklich spitze, besonders weil es in nur 30 Sekunden aufheizt. Es speichert die Temperatur und man kann auch SD-Karten rein stecken. Keine Ahnung wofür man das braucht. Das Kabel ist auch sehr angenehm. Allerdings gibt es inzwischen auch diese chinesischen Lötkolben mit Akku. Davon habe ich nur gutes gehört. Aber 70€ war mir etwas zu viel dafür. Dafür habe ich mir den Akkulötkolben von Parkside von Lidl zugelgt. 11 €! Mit Ladestation und USB-C Netzteil. Top verarbeitet und sogar mit LED vorne drann. Kann ich nur empfehlen für kleine Reparaturen rund ums Haus. Am Schreibtisch nehme ich das Ersa.

      Ich habe zwar den Nano und nicht den Pico, aber ich finde er ist jeden cent wert. Allein der schön kleine Stift, Heizzeit usw. Mit der Station hat man mindestens eine Sorge weniger. Das Ding funktioniert einfach und tut seinen Dienst.
