I moved from Bklyn in 97 and was a mailman there for 21 years, IT IS A LIVING NIGHTMARE the traffic is one thing BUT THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE THERE I got hit twice driving a big postal vehicle.
2K for a 1 bedroom in charlotte is not even close the norm yet...lol You might be too fancy. 1200-1300 is the norm in charlotte right now for a NICE 1br apartment
I just hit nine years of living out here. Originally from New York I’ll absolutely love it here and love being able to raise my family here, but it is a very different place than nine years ago. My only complaint is the infrastructure of the roads these 2 roads don’t cut it anymore with all the people that live out here. I keep joking that we’re full until they do something about the roads. You do have to put in work to find things to do sometimes but with all the new place is popping up it’s not that hard.
@@keayanawe have been here for 5 years and we live in South Charlotte (Waxhaw). The schools here are amazing, but it is pricey. Check Weddington, Wesley Chapel, and Marvin. They all are comparable to Waxhaw and all aren't cheap with this housing market, but the schools are some of the best in the state!

I moved to Charlotte in 2005 (Ballantyne area) and moved right back out within a year. Went back to the Philly area. It was beautiful but so dead and the job market was HORRIBLE at that time. I'm glad its changed.
As a native of the Clt area, there are Clt natives here. We have just been forced to move to the outskirts of the city with influx of transplants that continue to move here. Most transplants move within the city limits of Clt. Us natives have sought out more peaceful areas to live within the metro area, but we’re here:)
I moved to CLT from NYC last year. It really depends on what your budget is... to be closer to Uptown is more expensive. Me and a few of my friends from NYC moved to the University area in North Charlotte. I also have a couple friends that moved to Steele Creek in South Charlotte. In general it takes 20minutes or less to drive Uptown from either side. There's a dude who's videos I watched a lot before making my move. His YT is LongLiveLangston
i stayed in a nice area but sometimes you get hood visiters in the area and hear gun shots. i could tell you where but it was like 5 years ago then i moved to savannah. i road the bus and know a few areas. i really want to move there myself but cant afford it. im with my mom in pc florida where i was raised. i so want to get outta here.
Charlotte skyline is going to grow within the next 3 years but they will be getting a lot of south park land to build more skyscrapers which means higher rent 🤦🏾♂️
I’m planning to move from the DMV/Baltimore area and I feel pretty confident. However, how easy was it for you to find wholesome community? I think we’re pretty similar (30’s, church girls, somewhat bougie lol, but kind). Community is huge for me. Any things you can share about finding community and getting connected?
Congrats on the move! It’s pretty easy to make friends here I had great experiences. It was pretty easy for me to make friends because I would visit alot for church.
Thinking about moving there from Denver Colorado, was born and raised here but nothing is affordable and a 3 bed 2 bath basic house is at least $500,000
same here, thinking about moving from Long Island, ive been here for 15 years but now that i want to buy a house it just seems impossible anything less than $500k is not decent enough to raise a family
Someone from Denver JUST bought a home in our neighborhood. Sadly they overpaid for it. It sold for 849K. We bought ours exactly 5 years ago for 487K and we have 6 beds and 6 baths. The housing market is way off right now! Don't give up, keep looking.
I’m thinking of moving to NC from Florida South Florida is so expensive now that Charlotte looks cheap lol Any Areas to live near or church suggestions please?
Charlotte is getting expensive beyond its self. Been here 8 yrs. Many people are moving outside of Charlotte. They think they atl with nothing to do. The inflation is ridiculous
Regarding "free parking", I'm born and raised in DC (still here). I think Charlotte, and other cities (particularly southern cities) are taking a playbook from bigger cities like DC, NY, SF. It's a money grab, aka "covert taxation".
I know Prophet Carn keep you’ll busy. Like my Pastor Jamal Bryant we always got something going on at my church. I’m come visit soon I’ve been watch him for a while.

It was hard to watch this with the disrespectful low cut top. Please wear something appropriate. You listed a Bible verse at the beginning, so I thought this was going to be from a Christian prospective. I am chesty and cover myself.
Commenting on someone's body/outfit choice is disrespectful. You act like showing cleavage is the same as full nudity. People are free to wear whatever they like, and I didn't even notice until you pointed it out, so maybe you should work on your attention span :)
@TakeaG Sharing this in love: When we become new creations in Christ, the church should be explaining what born again actually means. Prayer, fasting, faithful and regular Bible studies and church attendance, should teach how to come out of the worldly behaviors and desires, that are contrary to GOD. Deliverance from the worldly desires means: the fleshly lives are transformed into holiness. A lifestyle of clean speech, wholesome music & movies and dressing.
@TakeaG Rebelliousness is an enemy against the Holy Scriptures. GOD is a GOD of order. Not a GOD of lust. Satan is using sexualized dressing in all of Hollywood. Yes, people who don't trust GOD and his standards definitely think provocative dressing will get them noticed. No "Real" Godly man wants a future wife showing their cleavage, navel, thighs etc.
So refreshing to hear a positive outlook on Charlotte👏🏾. It’s funny you mentioned that it’s rare to find a person that’s born & raised here lol 😂. I wasn’t born here but might as well been lol, I was born in Florida and been in Charlotte since I was a toddler. I’m in my early thirties and can attest to a lot with what you said. Prices are definitely going up and even certain areas don’t look the same at all. It is definitely a nice place to raise a family being that I’m married & have kids of my own. $2k for a 1br 1b?! "Kind of" expensive? That is outrageous! Might as well move back to LA with these prices!
That's not everywhere though. As a matter of fact I know many places here for a lot less.
Please do RESEARCH before you move to any state or city.
Great idea!
