The sound difference is craaaazy
For real! Looks like it is worth the money
I just installed this system on a 2015 SE Hatch 2.0L and it works well. The weatherstrip needs to be cut in a few more sections to lay flat, and the silver intake tube in shown here being installed BACKWARDS at 5:02. Make sure the K&N label on the silver pipe faces the throttle body, so both of the line fittings on the tube face towards the REAR of the engine bay.
Would this same intake fit a 2015 focus some ones selling there’s off a 2012 focus
I have the exact same car that I just bought. Was thinking about throwing money into it for the heck out it. If I need help installing the air intake I'll hit you up 😂. It'll be a bit tho bc I wanna get some other things installed as well so then I can get it tuned so it runs properly.
Thank you I damn near snapped my that fucking hose cause it’s backward who ever made this video and did this is a god damn idiot I’ve had to watch the video 10 times now and it’s still be mostly trial and error
i just got this intake few mins ago n ive been watching this video repeatedly for the past week 😊
Shoulda watched a different video probably would have had to watch for a week straight I had to watch this shit for four hours trying to install my intake
@@Skim_beeble7125 it dint take me a week to install 💀 i got it done in like 2 or 3 hrs. i was just excited cause this was my first mod in the engine bay
@@JAAR826 how did you put the heat protection plate in? And the screws? I’m having a hard time finding the right ones and where they go.. this video doesn’t make it specific on which ones you’re suppose to use..
It amazes me, the amount of people in The comments, asking questions that were answered very clearly in the video.
Hi !
I know the banana picture make it seem like I am a spam but, I am not. I have installed this air intake today. First, what Jeff H says in his comment is absolutely right. As for the question that everyone is asking for : does it make a noticeable difference ? Well the .. you do not feel the (or barely) feel the power increase. HOWEVER, the noise it makes around 3k - 5k RPM is insane !
Should you buy it ?
It depends, your focus se (I have 2015 2.0L Flex) will never make 280 hp and more without some major modifications $$$ (St engine swap, new brakes, new suspension, new tires, new fuel pump and the list goes on and on. At this point, buy a new car because this one a serious money pit that won't give any super exciting results.
On the other hand, for the cost and the little power boost it gives the car and the MAJOR FUN you are getting from the noise it's a fun gimmick to have. Worth every penny imo but its a gimmick.
Be realistic with yourself and your project. My best hope for my car is to get around 200hp at the wheels and it will require major modifications but it will be plenty. It a Focus SE for god's sake. + don't be too harsh on me. It's my first car and I am modifying it for pedagogical reasons. I would like to learn a bit and then have a real project car.
I haven’t noticed a increase to over all power but it is a little more responsive on the throttle
I’m ordering it right now based off this comment ha. Same situation first car I got the Sel focus 2013 and I’m trying to learn cars and do work on them because it’s exciting. All here for the same reason hahah
I completed the install, sounds great and feels just a bit more exciting. I have a some suggestions for your writers and engineers to improve:
1. The 90-degree elbow should face toward rear of engine. I had to redo work that should have been explained clearly.
2. The heat shield needs a nut for the screw on MAF housing. I used a nut and it's good.
3. I feel like for the cost of the kit, K&N could have cut the weatherstripping.
4. On the '14 Focus, the negative battery cable is difficult to reach since it's under the cowl. I removed positive and located wire away from terminal with no issues.
5. In general, I found the instructions for bottom panel mounts hard to understand, but I managed to get it right.
Overall, this kit wasn't too bad of an install. When you compare it to the AEM one, this was easy.
Did it ever give you any check engine lights?
@@kishredbird3599 Ik this was old but you almost always get a code from installing K&N filters and others but it can almost always be deleted
2013-2015 focus has an easier 'to get to' negative cable, same one they showed in the video
That sounds so good on the dyno
For Real!!
Does this fit on a 2016 Ford Focus SE 2.0L
It should yes
It fits all models after 2012
It fit my 2015 focus I made video on it
I got a 15’ Focus 2.0. Tried installing this and I got Hill start assist issues. Car was junk would run super lean and just had issues all around when I had my k&n intake on.

Same
Idk if this one is especially for a 2015
this says 2012-2013.... will it fit a 2014 Ford Focus SE Hatchback? 2.0-L L-4 DOHC 16V FLEX FUEL?

the hole for the evap fitting/vent line connection needs to be on the other side of the elbow. It kinks the vent line and restricts flow. Can I get the one i need from customer support?
Also, the hood wouldn’t latch after everything was all put together. 😂
Please feel free to contact our Product Specialists at 800-858-3333 or tech@knfilters.com for support
You installed the K&N intake tube backwards. Its bending the Evap tube way too much!
Is this not supposed to be this way? Mines kinked too
Did this install but hood won’t close? Any suggestions?
Please contact our product specialists at 800-858-3333 or tech@knfilters.com for assistance
A problem is the stock “evab” hose bends
Is this ok? I’ve had mine on for a few months and that hose is kinked. It is in the video as well so I thought it was intended to be
hi, I was trying to replace my filter and I did end up tightening the filter too tight causing crush damage to the mass airflow sensor, housing how can I fix that? What parts do I need to get?
Please contact our Product Specialists at 800-858-3333 or tech@knfilters.com for assistance
Will this fit on 2013 Ford Focus se Sedan 2.0 perfectly?

so maybe this year 2016 its gonna be legal? in california?
+jason cassidy We're hoping!
Can this go in a 2016 focus S?
Yes, this system will work on a 2016 Ford Focus 2.0L.
2.0 is that even legal in california? i heard for 2014 ford focus is legal, but for 2015 focus its legal? 😐
+jason cassidy Not yet, still working with CARB to get it legal.
You can still buy it I believe it'll just let you know it's illegal
Is it safe to assume that if I buy this for my 2013 Ford Focus right now, it would eventually be CARB legal later this year?
I am trying to find something like this for a 2006 Ford Focus. I have a high regard for the K&N name but your website absolutely sucks.
Check out the following page

So if I have a pod filter already, does that have any chance of going into the stock airbox?

Lol...finally i disconect the positive cuz it was imposible retire the negative.....i finish the job after 9 hours but is really nice....the sound is awesome and the HP increase is notable
They ain’t even selling them no more
Check out the following link. This part is still available on our website www.knfilters.com/69-3517ts-performance-air-intake-system
Hey K&N, you provide ESTIMATED power gains, yet you put the car on a dyno to hear the difference? You already have it on the dyno.....why not ACTUALLY DYNO TEST the difference???!! Actually, we both know the answer to that question, don't we? There is no other reason not to actually dyno test before and after the install other than to prove no power gain.
power gains vary from car to car, and with a part like this heavily depend on factors like air temperature. the estimated power gains are based on dynoed results!
Power gains on their test car are going to differ from power gains on different cars. Derrrrrrrrr...
@@NuMetal92 - I can't believe I have to explain this. They have a dyno. They can actually dyno test the kit they made for a specific car because, you know, they HAVE a dyno. They even put the car on the dyno to HEAR the difference. It's already set up and on the dyno. Why not DYNO TEST THE KIT?!! They don't do that and tell you the results. Instead, they estimate. Why? Because you would not like the actual dyno results.
@@1001Hobbies I got a dyno sheet with my intake kit, keep it in your pants. According to the dyno at k&n, the increase is about 10 wheel horsepower with their car, so probably 12-15 crank. And yes, that result will vary from car to car.
@@johndoe-zb8bm read my comment above. Yall don't need to jump to conclusions so fast.
after installing the same intake, the hood will not shut all the way. Any suggestions?
Donovan Swanner i have the same issue what did you do to fix it?
Did you ever fix it?
