The biggest pain is finding the next video... do you ever go back and add links for us? Hard to find this video from the last one... but it was worth it, sorta. Thx.
Good job. suggestion: for multiple part video's use the same heading then the section number. with different titles it is hard to find the next part. also adding links to the description would help.
@@matthiasvaillancourt8877 Thanks for the feedback - we cover extrudes, cuts, fillets, and shells earlier in this playlist, so I figured to keep the video duration down I would timelapse that section. But happy to answer any questions you have on what steps I was doing! And I appreciate the feedback too - always looking for ways to improve the videos and I appreciate the insight!
@@TooTallToby Yeah, it's too fast to be functional. I'd wager a lot of folks are looking for a systematic guide to follow within your individual videos, but -- as noobs. If you assumed no knowledge I think people would enjoy these more, especially given how basic the part is. Just my 2cents, you have an amazing product for sure.
Thanks. I learned new possibilities even though it’s a little beyond my current capabilities (the video is an incentive to keep practicing). I have to agree that the pace seemed a bit too fast toward the end.
You were doing greatexplaining the how and why on the first half, but then the second half you went full speed and lost me. Not being ungrateful, I appreciate the video but it took a lot of pausing and rewind to follow along.
thanks for the feedback John! Very much appreciated! I have some other videos where I do full out "step by step" tutorials, so I decided to speed this one up to keep the overall duration a little shorter (and to avoid too much repetition). But It's great to hear that these step by step guides are useful, and I'll definitely avoid the time lapse stuff in the future videos! thanks again for the great feedback!
yeah we cover extrudes, cuts, fillets, and shells earlier in this playlist, so I figured to keep the video duration down I would timelapse that section. But happy to answer any questions you have on what steps I was doing! Thanks for the comment too!
Wow! You did some really cool stuff in this one! I've used one image, but not two... especially with the idea of using the 2nd as a "cut". Fascinating! keep these coming!
Brilliant video and just what I need to try and replicate a part but being new to on shape find the latter part way to fast to follow. Could you do a slower version that people could actually follow live? That would so useful for newbies. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I have some other videos that are more like "step by step" tutorials that explain all the steps along the way - I just sped this one up because the main point was the lesson on SPLINES 😀
Bezier is a nice tool. Didn't know it was that easy. Beats clicking a million points using the spline tool as I've been doing. Short videos are nice but the pace really picked up on some of the subsequent steps. Maybe too much. At any rate, useful video!
I did not - I just figured that part would be boring - but maybe I should have taken a little more time and shown all the steps - good to know for future tutorials. thanks!!
Great video, but where you do a cut extrude is exactly where i want to learn how to do that, but you go too fast and even trying to slow the video is not working. So can you do that part again slowly??
He is creating a sketch with the outline of what he wants to remove, then does a normal extrude but uses 'remove' instead of 'add' in the extrusion settings. This cuts away the profile from the part...
The shape you end up with does not look like the original in that you seem to have lost the slope to the toe. Looking forward to see if this is corrected in the next exciting instalment and thanks for all your hard work in putting these together.
Thanks for the feedback! I was making a lot of videos for this playlist, so for this one I was trying to balance "video length" against being "too repetitive". But I've gotten a lot of feedback indicating that the users would prefer a longer video, if it meant they'd be able to see all the picks and clicks (without speeding things up) so I'll definitely keep that in mind for future videos!
Lol - sorry about that - I was worried those steps would be boring so I kinda fast forwarded - Good feedback and maybe for future tutorials I should go a little more "step-by-step" for the entire tutorial - Good stuff thanks!
Why didn't you speed up even more, so people don't have a clue what software you used to create that shape? Useless video, so I've banned this channel from showing up in my search results.
The biggest pain is finding the next video... do you ever go back and add links for us? Hard to find this video from the last one... but it was worth it, sorta. Thx.
These sort of small real projects are always excellent for learning. And it's also very satisfying to fix or customize something to your needs.
Agree! Its so nice to be able to just draw up a replacement part and print it out and BOOM - Ready for the next gig!
Good job. suggestion: for multiple part video's use the same heading then the section number. with different titles it is hard to find the next part. also adding links to the description would help.
Great suggestion thanks Jerry!
I’ve learned that you are insanely fast and if I want to do it I need to hit pause at least 300 times
lol - nice
yep it's not nice, way too fast, skips a lot of details as well...

did that go from 0 to 1000% percent speed when he started modeling? Or just me?

Thank you for teaching me about the bezeiar spline tool!
Nice - glad this helped!
loved the video just a bit too quick to follow along to for a noob !
Thanks!

yeah that can really help with getting the curvey ends of physical parts to match the models!
Excellent videos! Thank you very much 👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome! Thanks! Glad these are helpful!
Thanks I learnt alot was struggling to make a grommet for my cars wiper cool..

Great tutorial, but you went beyond light speed half in the video.. or did you make a video teaching that part?
I did not - I just figured that part would be boring - but maybe I should have taken a little more time and shown all the steps - good to know for future tutorials. thanks!!
Great tutorial! Don't leave us hanging, where's part 3?
coming soon!!! 😁😁😁

Does anyone have advice for constraining splines? It's very hard to think of simple geometric relationships between complex curves and other features.
I don't have a closed spline. I have a spline that I want to add a segment to. Then I would like to do a loft of the two curves. How can I do it?
I almost got a heart attack when u speed things up
lol - sorry about that! hope you are ok 😀
Been doing this since nam
nice!
Good ideas, but way too fast..., and assume too much user knowledge. but useful nevertheless...

Hi thank's but I would appreciate it if you just would show us all steps instead of speeding the steps up.
Awesome good to know and we'll see if we can have some longer format tutorials this year!
Way too fast!!
At about 3:00 where you started on the side image I was lost.
Thanks for the feedback paul! Always trying to balance "too fast" against "too slow" - and this kinda feedback helps me dial it in! Thanks!
Among us thumbnail nice
lol - a little hidden gem!
You went slow on the easy stuff, and then flew through all of the more complicated parts.
Lol - sorry about that - I was worried those steps would be boring so I kinda fast forwarded - Good feedback and maybe for future tutorials I should go a little more "step-by-step" for the entire tutorial - Good stuff thanks!
