    Epiphone pickups sounded better, imo.

    I have both and it’s amazing how good the epiphone is but you have to get the wiring pots caps switch and I can’t remember if we needed to change the output jack, frets polished The epiphone pickups sound great. They are a little fuller than the Gibson ones, I can see how some might prefer them. It depends on what vibe/tone you’re going for, they are both fantastic.
    I highly recommend getting the epiphone.

      in your opinion - is the price difference justifiable?

    So the pickups on the red guitar isn't real firebird pickups???

    • @MarekFajkus
      @MarekFajkus 6 дней назад

      the sunburst one epiphone doesn't have real firebird pickup. It's a bit like real firebird but not quite made by epiphone. The expensive one has real gibson firebird pickups which are thinner sounding and weaker.

    Thanks for the comparison. I thought that the regular Epi sounded better. More midrange and "meat" to the sound. I have one and think that the stock epi pickups really rock. The Gibson pickups sounded a little thin for me.

    I thought the Epiphone pickups sounded better. The Gibson pickups sounded a little weak and empty.

    • @mretrain
      @mretrain 5 месяцев назад +1

      The pickups on the Epiphone seem to have more midrange bite. Maybe they’re not as period accurate, but I thought they sounded better. There was always variation in vintage pickups anyway; sometimes they would get left on the winding machine a little longer and would be hotter and more midrange-y.

      @@mretrain I ordered an Epi Firebird one month ago. It just came in and I should get it in a day or two. I got the Epiphone hard case too.
      I think those Firebirds are way underpriced.

    The difference is in the pickups. I have the sunburst version. Great guitar. But you can’t beat the genuine Gibson pickups.

      The pickups dont justify the $6500 plus price difference. You can buy the OEM firebird pickups from Gibson for about $120 each.

    When Epiphone will set honest prices for chinese guitars?

    • @damham5689
      @damham5689 5 месяцев назад +2

      My guess would be when people stop buying them at extremely inflated prices.
