Very Well done RomeReports.... These things must be Pointed Out.
Every nation has got it's own heritage, customs and traditions. we should not belittle them by making such videos for the public. take respect and give respect
Yes. I really wish every people and nation would resort to and respect their own clothing traditions. Trying to emulate an international clothing fashion equals only to an uniform, and thus monotone and gray world.
When you meet someone in someone else’s house you are obligated to respect their rules and traditions.
I say this as an immigrant and speak from experience when I came to America I assimilated and still practice my customs in my home but I keep it to myself
On the 3rd bit of Queen Elizabeth's section, she switches her bag from one hand to the other. This is her signal to her staff to say that it is taking to long and she wants to move on.
That hair! I had to giggle a bit.
Ahahahahahahah
It's simple, women wear Veil and a skirt. Modest colors. That's it. Why do you make it so complicated.
magdalene74, you sure have a great sense of humor, I am reading a book about the royal purse, I am just starting and can't wait tilll i get to the juicy stuff. over and out.
When you visit the Pope, you should wear black. But when the Pope visit you, you don't have to wear black. Queen Elizabeth is an example. When she went to Vatican, she wore black. But when the Pope came to Britain, the Queen didn't wear black.
Incorrect. The requirement to were black was removed in the 1970s by Pope Paul VI. Women can wear what they want. They can follow the old rules, or wear something else. All that is required is that they are "dignified" and skirts go to the knee. When Ireland's president wore dark green a conservative priest went ballistic and accused her of insulting John Paul II. The Vatican made it clear that he was wrong. In fact it used to supply a photograph of her outfit to women who were looking for guidance, as an example of a perfectly judged modern outfit that was dignified and suitable.
It also says that women can wear national dress. There is no requirement any more to wear black, and no requirement to wear a mantilla. They are optional. Women are told not to wear white unless it is national dress.
Frankly, I think the pope could care less what these people wear.
I do not understand the tradition of women wearing black with a veil. For a funeral I get it but meeting the Pope ?? I am glad that there is some sort of protocol required though.
The Queen using her handbag to give signals to her security detail which accompanies her at home and abroad
Maybe they didn't get the memo.
who does the QEII think she is??? she goes to meet the Pope and does not have the respect to wear black and a veil. As a catholic, I am very offended. End of story. I am not replying to anyone.
In this video, it was the Pope who visited the Queen in Britain. When the Queen visited the Pope in Vatican, she wore black and veil.
hmm. I didnt see anything about the purse in that comment...
Rome Reports, you’re a little out of touch. As an example, the Queen of England always employs her purse when meeting others, etc. Not as unusual as your narrator makes it out to be.
#AskChrisAndClaudia.
HRM Elisabeth, uses her purse to communicate various information to her staff. She always travels with a pint of her own blood. No it's not in her purse.
Dang you mean that big ole wig she was wearing her and Trump share that same love for wigs I see.
At least she's not wearing a $12,000 pantsuit and pearl necklace to a forum about "Wealth Inequality", huh?
well, that is upto you. Glad you can think for yourself. leave me out of it and I hope I don't hear from you again.
The queen of great Britain is also the head of church, and therfore did not and should not have had to adhere to the dresse code for a papal meeting
she's the pope/mother of her Church
Her hair is a bit large...
Palmstar125 it's fake

you are comical Palmstar125 LOL!!!
Ahahahah!! What about the pope dressed up like a bride?!
Dumb reporting!
The word "pope" is Latin for "father"; Catholic priests also expect to be called "father". Catholics needs to think hard about whom they choose to call their "father".
Matthew 23:9, "And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven."
Stop taking that literally. Protestant call their biological fathers "father" all the time.
+Christian Herrera In all seriousness, I'm genuinely trying to help you. Think very hard about the following:
Revelation 17:5 identifies the Roman Catholic church as the MOTHER OF HARLOTS (among other things). It's the Roman Catholic church that gave birth to Protestantism, and today the Protestant churches are reuniting with the Catholic church via the (Antichrist) Ecumenical Movement (adding to the evidence that they were all one family to begin with). By trying to use the wrongful behavior of Protestants to defend the wrongful behavior of Catholics, you as well add to the evidence that they're all related. Instead of making a case for Roman Catholicism, you only prove that the Scriptures are true - that the Roman Catholic church is the MOTHER OF HARLOTS, the mother of false churches like herself who do not abide in the Word of God (or else they would all heed the Word of God AND CALL NO MAN ON EARTH THEIR FATHER).
We either belong to our worldly families, or we belong to the Family of God - we can't belong to both (and that is according to Jesus Christ, in Scripture). So think hard on this, because it will determine where you spend eternity. Christ Himself does not acknowledge Mary as His mother by flesh, but states very clearly that His mother and brother and sister are strictly those who do the will of God (calling any man "father" upon the earth is against the will of God).
Mark 3:31-35, "There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother".
he is my Father in Faith, he guide me and teach me what right from wrong, like what a father suppose to do. Can I call him my Father then? You can't just put an bunch of word out and expect people to believe you are serious.
And if Protestants claim they're Christian so that God is their heavenly Father, then they're also wrong for doing it. We can't belong to the kingdom of God and the world at the same time. We're either for Christ or against Him, there's no middle ground. And that comes from Christ Himself in Scripture, so we're deceiving ourselves if we think we can follow Jesus by doing the opposite of what He says.
You have to choose between whether you'll believe and follow the pope, or believe and follow Jesus and the Word of God. Because the pope and the Word of God contradict each other, and you can't travel in two opposite directions at the same time.
