I am absolutely in love with 18th century fashion, especially when it comes to the men's fashion. It's all so beautiful, and it's just a shame that there are far less videos on historical men's fashion compared to women's.
so true!
No one's talking about what it would be like to wear all this in the summer without air conditioning! I wonder if people back then got heat stroke. 😮
It might be because "fashion" is seen as a feminine pursuit or a feminine passion. Even though, last I checked, men still give a crap about what they wear.
Mens fashion in the 18th century for your commoner was very different from this, stockings were heavy knit wool, breeches would've be made from heavy cloths like canvas and wool, same with the waistcoat and coat, no wig. And nothing would've matched.

Although many also wear it to work, as many workers of this time need not to go out under the scorching sun, but facing a computer for many hours of the day.
A man on his own can wear asuit without any help in less than 15 minutes. However, a wife's help is sometimes given, both to speed up the process and to strengthen the marriage.
If a man feels not too safe, he sometime would wear a kevlar vest underneath his suit. Not enough to stop high caliber bullets or arrow, but it's enough against pistols and knives.
He then polish his shoes. Made out of leather, these shoes are sometimes different in color to the suit, giving the wearer some accent."

I think the 18th century is really overlooked. Lots of attention is given, in films and stuff, to the medieval times, occasionally the Renaissance, and then the 1800s, with the cowboys and Indians. But the 1700s really had a lot of bizarre stories, and characters insdie it. Pirates, for starters, but also so much more. It's really one of the most interesting ones.
The reason it’s avoided in most movies etc is because of the amount of politics every individual was involved in at the time. Politics were at their height much as fashion was. While you may find 17-1800s politics interesting, many find them boring. Also there are some touchy topics that are written in history that others don’t believe or agree with causing lots of hysteria if you write history wrong in your movie or book etc. I think the late 1700s is some of the most fascinating times of human history.
Most of the films about pirates are in the 18th century though

I think women's hair looked horrible though, atleast amongst nobility. Looked better in Medieval Times with a natural and long style.
1910s!
You see, even the 1940s were better. But midway across the 20th century, fashion shifted to innovation, and thus, apparently, to a downfall.
Temperature at my place is 48 degrees Celsius. I am sweating just by seeing this guy get dressed.
48? Uh?
OMG same. It's 45° here
Clearly not suitable attire for your particular colony then.
Where do you live? Is it on a hot plate? 2 more degrees and your body enzymes would be hampused
@@nixonnopticus4744 i live in New Delhi, body temperature is still 37 deg C even if its 48 outside. Anyways that kind of heat wave comes during the month of june every year. Its 28 deg C today.
Beautiful. The clothing was so rich and elaborate. I would have been afraid to to have approached this gentleman though. He acts very haughtily!
I love historic fashion
4:56 “he didn’t even said thanks... :(“
You do not say thanks to a servant for ordinary things. That is for what he is there. If he saves your life in a battle, then you say it and give him a duchy.
@Katherine Scanlon You don't have to be polite with your servants.
Since the upper class and nobility were waited on hand and foot they would have been saying thank you a hundred times a day. So they didn't. Besides as far as they were concerned it was beneath them to speak to people who were not of their station
I am Loki, of Asgard
do YOU say thanks to all your servant Loki? 🤔😉
The paycheck is thanks enough, no need for pretend to be thankful. It's a real show of dominance 😂
His suit has more parts than Iron man's armour.😂
And Stark had to get dressed by his robot butler too.
This is the most hilarious comment 😂😂😂😂
Wait until you see the women's clothing
I CACKLED
So you think,he's suit is better than mine !?
For some reason my favorite part of the outfit is the wig
This is like traveling back in time. It's looks so real. Well done!!
I gotta say, I really love this outfit.
5:15 off to Parliament to raise taxes on the peasantry so the Crown can add more vessels to its fleet.

RVLE BRITANNIA!
Of course the Crown must add more Ships of the Line, we must maintain our naval superiority over the French.
Feels like joining napoleon army watching this guy act. Well played.
An Englishman joining Napoleon's Army? Last I heard there was a term for that, namely treason.
Vive La France ?
In my opinion, this was PEAK men's fashion
Love the way he role plays even the way he sits in the chair. Like “I’m so cool and fancy.” People were so weird back then.
