    The starting strength reverts back to the original starting strength when a bodyguard OR leader unit is removed from the attached unit.

    I think if you're running hellbrecht in a squad of 10 sword brethren you want a lieutenant in there too for access to lethal 5s.

    The order of operations are the rules that tell us the sequence in which we should solve an expression with multiple operations. The order is PEMDAS: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, and Division (from left to right), Addition and Subtraction (from left to right).

    • @KahaniKhalifa
      @KahaniKhalifa 4 месяца назад +2

      From the rules commentary: "Where a Damage characteristic includes an operator (eg. a '+' as in D6+1), the value after the operator is part of that Damage characteristic - it is not a modifier".
      So the +2 for melta is not applied after halving, you calculate the entire damage characteristic, and then modifiers apply to the total after that.

    • @brunoanquetil6434
      @brunoanquetil6434 4 месяца назад +6

      @@KahaniKhalifa I would agree with you if the weapon damage was indeed D6+2 but it is not. It is the Melta 2 ability that modifies the damage result by adding 2 to it hence it is a modifier and applies after halving.

    You would play the Sword Brethren with Helbrecht for 5+ Crits and a Castellan for Lethal. You are allowed to attach the Castellan if a captain or chapter master is already attached AFAIK.

  • @brainstorm90
    @brainstorm90 4 месяца назад +1

    The crit on 5 is good for the thunder hammers dev wounds and you want to have the castellan (or lieutenant) with them for lethal (and fall back and charge), plus if you use the BT detachment you can spend 1CP to give them sustained, so in total you can have +1S, +1D, sustained and lethal on 5, dev wounds on 5

    • @gideonm.4866
      @gideonm.4866 3 месяца назад

      Be careful, crits on 5's are on your hit roll, while the devastating wounds are on your wound roll. So if you roll a crit with lethal hits, you wound automatically, but you don't get the devastating wound.

      He was simply horrified when all his brothers were obliterated by giant green rays, and a horde of immortals had just passed before his eyes, against the background of which a gigantic silhouette of a monolith could be seen in the fog. At some point, he simply lost the gift of speech and looked at one point. But at the end of the fight he came to his senses.

    Melta is added after damage is halved so the Nightbringer should have taken 3 damage at 1:10, 4 if he didnt reroll into a 1.

    For those who dont understand the hypercrypt uppy downie, deep strike has absolutely no bearing on picking up units via hyperphasing. If the model started the battle deployed, at the end of your opponent's turn, the necrons player can pick up ANY friendly necrons unit and place it in strategic reserves. Because the unit started on the battlefield turn 1, it can in fact come in from strategic reserves during the necrons reinforcement phase; using deep strike if the unit has it, battlefield edge if it doesn't, and 3" from any enemy unit if the cosmic precision stratagem is used regardless of if the unit has deep strike or not.
    It is similar to the grey knights uppy downie but it is not the same for many of the triggers.

      "Uppy Downy" is a common slang for a unit that can come off the board at a specified point of the game that can come back on in the reinforcement phase.

    Bridger unfortunately plays the uppy down wrong. The C’tan cannot be removed and redeployed turn one since he does not have the deepstrike ability.
    Lots of people have been playing the hypercrypt incorrectly unfortunately. My guess is that it is because it operates similar to grey knights so people assume it is the same.
    Love this channel. Thanks for posting such awesome games Titans.

    • @danjones3012
      @danjones3012 4 месяца назад +1

      Sorry but you are wrong, while there are similarities to the grey knight uppy downie it is in fact different. At the end of your opponents turn you can pick up any friendly necrons unit and place it into strategic reserves via hyperphasing. The pick up has nothing to do with deep strike; the unit can then be set up on the battlefield during your reinforcement phase, following normal placement from the battlefield edge if the unit doesn't have deep strike and if it does then it is set up using the deep strike restrictions. Cosmic precision stratagem places any unit 3"+ away from enemy models regardless of if the unit has deep strike or not.

    • @baxterseguin2485
      @baxterseguin2485 4 месяца назад +3

      @@danjones3012sorry no you are wrong. When hyperphasing a unit is removed from the table and enters strategic reserves. In order to place them turn one, if you are going second, the unit would have to have deepstrike. So the monolith can do it, deathmarks, or any unit you give the deepstrike enhancement to. The only way to come back onto the table turn one is deepstrike, by entering strategic reserves you still have to adhere to the rules of strategic reserves. Nothing in hyperphasing says the unit has to come back or comes back next turn, it says strategic reserves.

      Also, you obviously didn't watch the LVO winning army do it the whole LVO (GW sanctioned mega tournament Las Vegas Open). I recommend you check it out, as if there was a rules problem with it, it would have been brought up there.

      @boestera 4 месяца назад +1

      @@baxterseguin2485 The Rules Commentary v1.2 on top of page 2 states "Abilities that allow units to be setup in the Reinforcement step of your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd movement phase using Strategic Reserves rules, treat the battle round as one higher than the current battle round." This is what allows units that do not have deepstrike to still come in on the table edges (just not the enemy deployment zone) on Turn 1, because per the rules commentary you count it as if it was Turn 2. Units with Deepstrike are able to go wherever there is space to drop.

    • @baxterseguin2485
      @baxterseguin2485 4 месяца назад

      @@boestera I like where your head is at but I don’t think that applies. Nothing in the wording says first round which makes your quotation not apply. Hyperphasing says “at the end of your opponent’s turn, you can select a number of Necrons units from your army (excluding units that are within engagement range of one or more enemy units). The maximum… (unecessary info).” It then says: “Once you have made your selection, remove those units from the battlefield and place them in strategic reserves.”
      Strategic reserves says: “Strategic Reserves units can arrive in the reinforcements step of your movement phase from the second battle round onwards.”
      If you can show me otherwise please do. I will happily walk in my heavy destroyers turn one if going second. Based on everything I have seen though you have to wait until the second battle round. Deep strike being the exception because of wording of course.

      Warhammer has additional rules included in mission packs to support more competitive play. These packs almost always include rulings that reinforcements and deep strikes can only come in starting turn 2, with the exception of unique stratagems such as Deathwing Assault.
      If you have it, check your Leviathan Mission Pack.
