    We had the Suzuki Carry before and it was very useful, the rear seats can fold flat to form a flatbed... thus you really do not need to own a Truck version as it is already built-in. The Carry and Every are very popular models here in my country, the Philippines and we name them "Multicab".

    You can also tip those back seats forward creating even more storage room. It’s pretty crazy for such a small van.

    Awesome vid...they are so basic and practical and highlight what was great about '90's cars...simplicity, lightness, yet with fuel injection instead of carburetors.

    I've never heard of this van. It looks shorter and taller than Chrysler & Toyota's minivan. Toyota had also put the engine under the driver's seat in the '80s ^ '90s minivan (Previa)

    it's wild how similar it looks to a Daewoo damas,
    i mean, all this 80's 90's kei vans are almost the same and i love it

    The interior came straight of the Mitsubishi's t120SS pickup (just shrunk!), which is the red diamonds' budget pickup used for light and town duties as well as being a cheap bus too for a very long time, just like its carry futura twin brother!

    I like that we can import these from Japan now. I see them and other K cars all over now. Definitely a different culture then us as Americans. Everything was oversized here for such a long time😅

      A kei truck or van is the perfect vehicle for going to the hardware store. The bed/cargo area is big enough for just about anything you'd ever need to carry. I've seen one Honda Acty truck in my area but except for the rare Skyline there aren't any JDM cars.

    No AC? I wonder what happened. I've watched almost all the previous vids on this and you could hear the AC kick in when the seats were up to show the engine. Dang Nick what happened?

    I hope I begin to see more and more of these as they are imported to the US. Out of curiosity, where is the abandoned air strip ? I live in NY and have never heard of one so close to Manhattan.

    • @takethecurseOFFwashingmachine
      @takethecurseOFFwashingmachine Год назад

      It’s not an abandoned air strip per se, it’s a former municipal airport in Brooklyn called Floyd Bennet Field. Prior to ww2 it functioned as a major airport for the nyc area. I believe it served as a military base during the war. Today there is still a military presence at the site, however the entire area is now a national park. Haven’t been there in years, but you used to be able to openly drive up and down the old runways, which was always cool.

    Meanwhile, the Japanese are laughing at our obsession with their micro-sized commercial vehicles. If I ever get Jay Leno money, my collection will have several kei cars/vans/trucks in it. They're slow and don't drive well but I don't care, they're cool and quirky and weird. Someone in my area has a Honda Acty truck they use for hardware store runs but JDM cars aren't popular here beyond the rare Skyline. A kei van or truck is really all most people need for going to the hardware store or tooling around town. You can fit just about anything you'd ever need to into them.
    Of note with the radio, the Japanese FM band is 76-95MHz. If you want to pick up all US frequencies you must swap the radio or I think there are converters.
    I like how you say Mit-su-bish-y. Where I'm from we say Mit-su-bee-she.
