After Christmas I’m going to do my best to find a 7” instrument cluster that will match our 2012 ‘s ,when I do I’ll upgrade the steering wheel Evic switch then ..,You are right even with half the control I’d rather have the 3.5”but that 7” that lights up Ram when it turns on is even nicer …if your looking to get one jus make sure you match up the plugs I think there are 2 Plug outlet on the 2012 and 4 on the 2013’s and up . I still have the basic cluster hanging on the wall I gotta check the plugins on the back before buying the next one ,,
Makes you wonder how many people and dealers have done this to lower the mileage on a vehicle and sell it for more money. Makes it pretty easy to be dishonest during a car sale.
Yeah, for a small dealer it might sort of work, but the regular dealers should be able to see the mileage on the computer, rather than the cluster. Still, a valid point however.

Sadly no, the 2012 "premium" cluster is the one you've got now. Only thing from here would be adding a larger display like the AEM cd-7 or something (nothing cheap or factory looking).
You know you can just go to the dealership and ask them to upgrade it for you. The gauge clusters and unconnect radio. Or go to a car junkyard and get the parts your self.

I don't think a 13+ cluster would fit (different plug on the back I think) but there was a 3.5 option for 09+, but I don't know the actual performance differences of them (09-12 and 13+)
I got a 2012 laramie 3500. same cluster as your original but i have 3 little boxes below that and my fuel gauge and oil pressure gauge or on top. I'm guessing that won't work for me?
Can the cluster show the current gear and available gears to the right of the (D)rive? I installed the 7" EVIC but the gear indicator does not seem to work like a factory install. It will show and stay in the gear it's in when I hit the - button on the steering wheel. It will not show the current gear and available gears above that even when I press the + button moving up to 8. The truck continues to perform just like it did with the 3" EVIC. I used AlfaOBD to correct the mileage and run hours. Any idea what I need to correct?
Is it still working with the steering wheel buttons? Is anything missing on this cluster? One thing I use a lot is my DTE for miles till empty, or Range on the newer Rams.
huh, so you could just swap the whole cluster and the functionality works like OEM? Man i should try that with my ILX. my Premium ASpec has a similar basic center cluster display instead of a full color one found in the Tech-Packages. Wonder if a similar swap would work...
Charles Pages thing is, where am I gonna find a tech cluster lol. Not like anyone’s gonna remove it for any particular reason; unless it’s in a junk yard (which is hard since those models come with AcuraWatch aka collision detection and road departure stuff). Buying a cluster new is $1000 lol! How’d you get one for your Ram anyway?
Dang...luckily the same "premium" cluster in ram has been the same since 2012 or so. There is a few special models of course that came with difference color bezels and what not, but otherwise it is plug and play. Heck, it even knows what model it's plugged into, and will display that on startup. Sounds like yours will be tough to come by lol, since they seem to be limited and prevent crashes. I found mine from a local person who bought for their truck, but purchased the wrong one-diesel and gas use different clusters, he needed the diesel version.
I was reading a forum from years ago and there was a guy “assuming you” talking about the park indicator flashing. So I swapped clusters and got this flashing that it never did with the old cluster. Did you ever find a fix? Or is this normal?
No, this would be for 2014 and up! The gauge cluster shown in the beginning of the video is considered the “premium” cluster for 2010 (not identical, but very similar anyway).
If i was to go to a dodge dealer with both clusters. Mines the basic one. Will the dealership reset the uograded one and install?i live in Ontario Canada. Im wondering if the dealer would be inclided to do the service
call and find out-they should be able to do it, just a matter of them actually doing it/knowing how to. They might be "mad" if you didn't buy the cluster from them though lol.
Different vehicle I know, but I tried that with my 06 Taurus. The dealer wouldn't touch it because they didn't want to be involved with any federal laws issues based on the miles.
One question is when the instrument is the one that records the miles traveled or is the computer that saves it, if I changed the instrument panel, I will have the same information of the miles already traveled, thanks.
Technically they both do (the cluster and the truck computer). The cluster/instrument panel is the one that displays mileage, but it doesn't pull that info from the truck computer-it just gathers information when you drive. If the dealer was to plug into the obd, they should/would be able to see that actual recorded mileage on the truck, even though the cluster could show a different number.
There is a cluster swap available, but the "new" cluster you would swap in looks a lot like the one I show in the beginning of the video (3.5 one). There is no 7" option that I know of for that year.
I found someone who sells them on ebay and sent it to them-they sold clusters on ebay and reprogrammed them prior to sending them out. I just sent mine to them.
How did u find it till now , still working good ? So i got a ram 2017 with same dash do you think the installation is going to be the same ? What about the switches on the steering wheel , did u have to change those as well or you can command everything as well with those ?
Everything is working perfect-since this is a factory part/upgrade for your truck the buttons work just how they should! No button changes required, everything is truly plug and play.
Charles Pages also where did u find this ? Looking on ebay can’t find one, and will be the same thing even if i find a 7” but from different year model ?
Ebay should have some, they usually do. You'll need a 2013-2018 cluster (pretty sure up to 2018 works fine-but if you have a 2018 I'd consult with others from that year to verify). The main thing is that you find either a gas version, or diesel, depending on what you drive. Otherwise the 1500, 2500, 3500 models all have the same cluster, and automatically "pull" data from the computer so it will display the model properly when plugged in. Only difference other than gas/diesel would be "special" or limited versions over the years which would change bezel/design ONLY-they still function the same. So if you found one out of a rebel with the red bezels around the gauges, it would still work in your truck. The other important thing is mileage, but many sellers on ebay offer programming for. Make sure it actually matches the truck mileage, as this would otherwise be a violation of DMV, and if you ever went in for service for some reason the dealer might be/will be able to tell. Check out this one from ebay. Remember gas or diesel! This is very important. rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5338069230&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F2013-Dodge-RAM-Evic-7-1500-2500-3500-Speedometer-Cluster-PROGRAMMING-INCLUDED%2F282821483624%3Ffits%3DYear%253A2013%257CMake%253ARam%26epid%3D1934067884%26hash%3Ditem41d9795c68%3Ag%3A2fgAAOSwjIVaaOZZ%26vxp%3Dmtr

Do you have a cluster that looks like the one in the beginning of the video? If so, that is considered the "premium" cluster for that year. If you don't, you can "upgrade" to the one I show in the beginning.
No. You could maybe do some crazy wiring or something and get it to work, but I'd say very very unlikely. Your best bet is to run a tablet with gauges on it, or buy a diablosport Trinity 2 on amazon which would allow custom gauges and such. amzn.to/2IYQ6di
Doesn't need to be, but the odometer and truck mileage won't match-big red flag for dealers/future buyers. A normal person would not be able to tell though, it would need to be a dealer or something to pull the mileage from the truck computer. This would possibly get flagged by the dealer and/or reported to the DMV that there is a mismatch. Popping the old one in/out for dealer visits wouldn't work either because the mileage still won't match.

Whats the difference between the putting this in a 2011 then a 2013 is the wire harness the same to plug in? Looking at 2013 cluster to 2011 cluster the overall size looks the same to bolt in ??
I think that the 09-12 does NOT have a 7" option available. It seems the one you have (with the small screen) is the one they usually try and upgrade to. Wiring/plug changed for 2013+
Charles Pages damn yeah that's what I figured. I haven't taken it off yet and looked at the plugs and was just wondering before I went through the trouble. Was hoping to go for the more modern look
It will work great! Just make sure to get the gas version and not diesel. The only other difference between the others is bezel colors and such, so one might have silver and the other black. Keep in mind the mileage thing, but many on ebay will pre-program the odometer/hours before sending it out to you.
Totally agree! Have a run down on one from a Laramie I'm thinking about snatching up. Only a few thousand miles on the cluster so it's pretty new. I find it odd though that it is a discontinued cluster (68302588AD) being out of a 2017. I think the newer version has AC at the end.
Hmm, only thing I can think of is that they updated a color or something and it now shows as "discontinued" since I haven't heard or seen any reason why it wouldn't be available (no recalls etc that I know of, especially for clusters). If it's cheap, go for it! Luckily (or unluckily) they survive most crashes that render vehicles totaled, so they are relatively easy to find.

my loser dealer said it needed to be reprogramed and to confirm my sons 2018 ram 1500 sport does not do that (P) is steady so flashing must mean something ......thnxxx for the reply charles if you hear anything let me know LOL...
Quick update my truck had a update since last service 3 recalls and after the update it fixed the flashing (p) all good now FYI
I have a 2013 ram what’s the website/ number
Would this work on my 2012 Ram Laramie Longhorn?
09-12 is a different cluster, no 7" option.
What’s the price range on the new cluster?
Bout $450
Does this void the warranty?
it shouldn't/can't. Make sure the mileage is the same though, or that opens a can of worms/looks like you tried to tamper with it.
Where did you send the cluster to get programmed?
I have a 12 3500st with uconnect diesel, any hope for me?
Do you have a cluster that looks like the one in the beginning of the video? If so, that is considered the "premium" cluster for that year. If you don't, you can "upgrade" to the one I show in the beginning.
no, it is the one with the fuel and coolant temp in top center, is it the base cluster? Thanks for the info!
Is this possible to do on an 04 dodge ram?
No. You could maybe do some crazy wiring or something and get it to work, but I'd say very very unlikely. Your best bet is to run a tablet with gauges on it, or buy a diablosport Trinity 2 on amazon which would allow custom gauges and such. amzn.to/2IYQ6di
Looking everywhere for this info
Can i do this swap on my 09 ram 1500 5.7?
Nope, I think 12 or 13 is the earliest.
I’ve a 2011 ram will it fit on it?
where di you sent out to get odamter fix ?
the seller on ebay did it, I'll see if they can do send ins.
Where can i get one?
Can I switch over to this cluster. I've got an 09 Ram ?
Unfortunately not
@@chazpages but I have the3.5 version also ?
I have a 2014 ram big Horn 1500, would this work for mine?
Yes it will! Check the link in the description
Just bought a 2014 1500 slt ram , will this work it ? thanks !
Yes
Does it have to b program or just plug an play I have 2016 ram express model
Doesn't need to be, but the odometer and truck mileage won't match-big red flag for dealers/future buyers. A normal person would not be able to tell though, it would need to be a dealer or something to pull the mileage from the truck computer. This would possibly get flagged by the dealer and/or reported to the DMV that there is a mismatch. Popping the old one in/out for dealer visits wouldn't work either because the mileage still won't match.
How can I put my old miles in the new .cluster
Many online retailers can enter mileage for you before shipping it (ebay anyway).
Ok thanks
Do you know if can adapt this for a ram 2012?
Not really-you’d have to do something like the aem cd7, which isn’t really “factory” in any way
can you change the color of the display/led
Not without opening the cluster up. I don't know why more manufactures don't offer user selectable backlighting light Ford.
Just plug and play? No adapters needed?
I have a 2014 big horn edition you think I can just swap my cluster out as well?
Plug and play! No adapters, harness, wiring, etc required. Very simple and easy mod that makes a big difference!
Super simple. There is only one harness
I have 2011 ram 3500 can i do it
No, the 3.5 I show in the beginning of the video is the "premium" for that year.
Can I do this set-up on a 2012 ram ?
I’d like to know to
can do it on my 2010 dadge ram ? thank you
No, 3.5 is the largest for that year.
@@chazpages I added a cluster from 2010 big horn all the gauges work great ! just cant use the info center till i installed the new steering wheel! i dont have a horn there was a video a gentleman post with a link to a wire diagram to make the horn work ..i lost the link to that trying to find it any help would be great!
i have 2016 ram 1500, will this work?
yes!
Charles Pages thanks
Does it fit on a 2015 ram 1500
Yes it will!
Does this plug & work on a 2011 ram 2500?
No, 09-12 have a different "premium" cluster that looks more like the one I show in the beginning of the video.
Charles Pages dont be so sure i did it to my 2009 ram lone star
Jiovany Sanchez how did you do it?
Yes, "How" please share.
its not a plug and play i was lucky enough to find it on my local upull junk yard, you have to have the connection since their a little different, you wont have all the complete options but the revs gas temp mphs lights will work just have to research what wire is to what and connect it to the other cluster wire makes since??
What years does this work on ? I ave a 2011
i believe the first year u can do this on is a 2013, which sucks cause i want these but i have a 2012
Whats the difference between the putting this in a 2011 then a 2013 is the wire harness the same to plug in? Looking at 2013 cluster to 2011 cluster the overall size looks the same to bolt in ??
I have a 2012 big Horn. Exactly like the first evic cluster without the mph shown digitally. Can I upgrade to the 7" with the mph working digitally?
I think that the 09-12 does NOT have a 7" option available. It seems the one you have (with the small screen) is the one they usually try and upgrade to. Wiring/plug changed for 2013+
Charles Pages damn yeah that's what I figured. I haven't taken it off yet and looked at the plugs and was just wondering before I went through the trouble. Was hoping to go for the more modern look
2011 cluster can be swapped ?
No, the 3.5” is the premium for 2011
I have a 2013 Ram 1500 express would I be able to swap to that 7”
yes you should-2013+ for this one.
Where can I find a 7" cluster for my 2018 ram?
Usually ebay or forums-I believe the 2018 should be the same as this.
Charles Pages i have a 2018. Would s 2015 work?
Looking into doing this for my '16 Ram Tradesman 5.7L. Does is matter which one I purchase (Limited, Laramie, Big Horn and so on) ?
It will work great! Just make sure to get the gas version and not diesel. The only other difference between the others is bezel colors and such, so one might have silver and the other black. Keep in mind the mileage thing, but many on ebay will pre-program the odometer/hours before sending it out to you.
Didn't even think about hours when I posted that. Thanks for the info! Looks great!
It makes the interior look SOO much nicer and up to date.
Mileage rollback? lol
Yup, it could happen unfortunately.
Quick update my truck had a update since last service 3 recalls and after the update it fixed the flashing (p) all good now FYI
@James Castillo Hi I just brought my truck back to dealer for a recall and they did a software update and that fixed the problem with the (P) flashing ..
I have a 2009 ram 🐏 can I replace it with a new upgrade cluster and any year on my truck ???
Will this work on a 2500 cummins?
Will this work on a 2009?
Dose this cluster work with a 2011 3500
No, the 3.5" shown at first is the "premium" cluster for that year.
Will this fit a 2010 Ram 2500?
No, the "premium" gauge option for that 09-12 is the first gauge cluster I show in the beginning.
