@@stevezeppieri hey Steve I am up in Alberta Canada right now Fly Fishing. I guess I am living the dream. Lol. Thanks on the heads up on the beer. With my ADHD and dyslexia it’s hard for me to comprehend words.
I had a couple bear sightings where I was camping. I was just looking at the South Fork of the flathead above the reservoir and I couldn’t believe how low it was.
Wow, gorgeous river. Your reference to Catskill rivers when it rains heavy is so true. They turn muddy brown and rapid very quickly. I kind of miss hiking them though because they're easy compared to the brutal trails in the Whites here in NH. Don't eat too many chocolate chip cookies or you'll be sorry a half hour later😂
Hey Paul I am missing the catskill mountains still. There are so many times I had torrential rains all night long and in the morning the rivers are all still very fishable. That would never happen in East Coast. I did eat too many chocolate chip cookies and I did suffer for it. Bummer.
Great video as always. We seem to like the same spots in Montana. I fished the N Fork in July and was able to land a couple of nice fish. Also, hit the bakery and had amazing huckleberry danish.
Hello John! Beautiful scenery and river, I hate the heat, as we see it has negative effects on a lot of things, but there is still really good fishing out west, we just need to find it, like you said, that's we you explore the areas. Enjoyed watching, have fun, stay safe.
Hey Jim, even though the heat makes the fishing suck it’s too beautiful and relaxing. I just spent some time by bunker Creek and in the mornings I have 38° and by midday I had temperatures in the 90s to 100°. This weather is crazy. May have to hit Canada for a couple weeks.
We had a super hot July here. The North Fork was actually under hoot-owl and fishing was closed in the afternoons until the water cooled off. At least we've been getting some rain lately.
I think it’s been 20 years on the North Fork that the hoot owl went into effect. While I was on the north Fork I probably had four good thunderstorms come through. Just spend some time on bunker Creek and had two thunderstorms came through and one of them started a fire which luckily it burnt itself out. On Bunker Creek I had temperatures in the morning around 38° and midday temperatures went up to 90 to 100°. This is just crazy.
Thought of ya. Sitting at the fork 20 minutes out of Glacier. Watched fish start feeding just before sun down. Even the dragon flies are hungry here - no bugs as you said. Cheers
Golfed yesterday here in Phoenix....111' outside...toasty! Love to see you enjoying freedom outside. Most of my buddy's are slaves to their debt, jobs, and ex wives! San Diego next week.... beachside camping for another week. Stay safe brother!! Timmy C Arizona
Just got home from a week in Idaho, Kelly, Clearwater, Lochsa, fishing was awesome, temperatures reasonable. No crowds on the rivers. Thinking of doing Canada next year. Stay safe my friend.
I'm heading out in a half hr or so. Local midwest fishing, the weather has been great, fishing has been great. Not on the road but I do feel lucky to have a fly shop in town, a river full of trout running through it and quite a few nice streams in the area. I guess I'm living my version of the dream. Glad your are able to live yours. As usual great video ,beautiful scenery and stream.
@@ronlee2606 hey Ron that’s awesome, good luck with the fishing. The heat spell kind of broke and the fishing is picking up. You don’t have to be full-time on the road to be living the dream.
This was an awesome video! It would be nice if you could do a video one day on the type of fish you catch with some pics. Whitefish, bull trout, cut throat, etc is all Greek to us southern fisherman who don't know much about fly fishing. The campsites are amazing!

Enjoyed your video, John! I fish this river weekly. Yes, for the most part, the fish are smaller, but once and a while I catch a 14"-16" fish, mostly in the deeper pools. Did you camp at Coal Creek? Looked like it from your video. Safe travels!
@@stever6105 hey Steve, glad you enjoyed the video. You’re a lucky man if you fish that every week. I did throw some streamers with a sinking tip line in the deeper holes, but I didn’t pull out any bigger fish. 🤷♂️ I camped at a couple different spots, but I don’t know the names.

Hi John,
I fished under Camas bridge about a month ago. Had a bear stroll close by. The water was still high then. Best of luck.
