I have the same code aswell in my Volvo XC70 AWD 2002, but ive changed my camshaft sensor, cam belt, water pump and cam stretcher for new ones last weekend (going by the book), car works just great with turbo and all and no long cranks at all, just that the engine light comes on and this code exists in the data. Today i changed the engine oil, cleaned that big sensor thing by the camwheel and deleted the code, the code havent showed up sofar even after 2 restarts.
I think the XC70 has (2) cam position sensors: intake & exhaust. At least our 2007 XC70 does as a 2.5T platform. The 2002 V70 2.4T only has the rear exhaust cam position sensor. Ours was missing the o-ring seal for the sensor to the mounting bracket and it allowed a bit of debris in there - probably could have tried simple cleaning before replacing the sensor / mounting bracket...
What you're pointing to is not the variable valve intake timing. The VVT is on the front, or the opposite end of the engine. I have a 2004 XC70 AWD T5 and mine has both an intake and exhaust camshaft position sensors. I'm not how your vehicle can drive without them. Also; please use caution driving from Dallas back to Colorado. Highway 287 is a known spot for cops to bust people for drugs.
Correct - Working on the Cam Position Sensor (Exhaust) - which allows the computer to know where the cam is positioned with the corresponding VVT (Exhaust). This 2002 V70 2.4 T only has VVT / Cam Position Sensor on the exhaust side of the engine. Hwy 287 Simple Solution: don't drive with drugs in the car :)
There's no need to remove the top bracket. You can reach behind the engine and pull just the sensor from the plastic cover One bolt holds it. Takes 5 minutes to do it.

Hi. My Volvo has Ecm 3410 code what's mean?
www.matthewsvolvosite.com/volvo-1999-and-newer-codes/
Does it leak
No leaking - there was just a very small amount of 'debris' in there - guessing from the lack of the sensor o-ring on the housing mount.
