  • Our winter storm is underway, having dumped large amounts of rain for the south with damaging winds, hail, and isolated tornadic activity occurring as well. Lots of snow has already fallen for the TX/OK area now spreading into Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee where it looks the track of the low has shifted pretty substantially in comparison to what was forecast last week...

      Was just sharing an update on tiktok - we’ve really nailed this forecast. Figured we’d catch a little action into the peninsula. I see they upgrade to a warning alongside their SWS

      @@WxCenterNazario could nyc get more than 10 inches of snow?

      @WxCenterNazario  5 месяцев назад +3

      @@JordanOHairie great question! It’ll be close, but a lot of our more higher res ensemble members believe you’ll cap out around 5-8in in the greater NYC area. To the north off manhattan island it’s possible we’ll get around that 10in threshold

      @@WxCenterNazario from what i'm seeing, according to fox weather, it all depends on when the rain changes into snow. for example, in one of their models, it shows NYC receiving 13 inches of snow. will the timeframe of the change from rain to snow really have that large of a difference in totals?

    • @WxCenterNazario
      @WxCenterNazario  5 месяцев назад

      @@JordanOHairie technically that’s a piece of the equation. That’s essentially explaining where your rain/snow line sets up. Which will influence where your heaviest snow falls, you can usually find the heaviest pocket of snow a few miles north of your freezing line.

    Good👍🏻Update! BTW, Upper Tampa Bay just got a skinny line of showers with a wee bit of lightning tonight around 8 pm.

      Yeah they did! Some stronger storms moved through. Very satisfying feeling when we’d discussed live the peninsula can’t be counted out of some of the action. Thank you for watching!

    I wonder if that actually could've been a subtropical storm lol. I'm curious to see if any reanalysis will even be done on it though.

      Visually, it had the look! Convection flaring up for a little while really gave it that trademark subtropical style… so you never know!
