Been waiting for this video! I saw your post on trad talk about limbs with the voting poll thing. I’m in the same boat I felt like metal risers was the perfect middle ground for me coming from compound. And you can tweak them in many ways. I just got a vpa riser and been looking at the Nika limbs. Thanks for sharing this!
Happy New Year, I am still a wood guy but support all forms of traditional archery. Sure have enjoyed watching your channel over the last year. Thanks.
I think you're really going to like it even more than you think right now. I was really looking at a satori, but had a similar opportunity when i picked up my Hoyt buffalo in a trade. I really like the extra heft to the bow and how durable it feels. It certainly likes a stiffer arrow. I never thought id shoot it as well as i do but it just fits so well. Metal risers aren't for everyone, and that's fine. We all got our preferences.
One of my friends had wonderful season. Tagged out. All with self made selfbow and at least one with chunk of stone tip. Hope balance of your season goes well. We have bit of snow now!
I have & use all trad platforms...hunting with ILF 'parts-caster' that I built & tuned...love them for shoot-ability & tun-ability. It can be a challenge to quiet them down. 🙂
I think it's a good idea to have both. A trad wood bow and an ilf bow for more accuracy and durability. One for the heart and field and one for the comps and hunting
That is really cool I seen a omp satori at our sporting goods store it will be my first time using one I ate my tag this year it was over in November here in wyoming hope I can figure it out
A guy I met at the range wanted to trade bows for a set and shooting a satori was definitely pleasant. He made his probably about 8lbs with his full hunting setup lol. I wouldn't trade my toelke for it but man are they super sweet feeling bows. Enjoy the new bow man, don't let the comment section rule your decisions lol!
@SuperRedseven it was a workout to hold haha but he had some uukha limbs that had some wild let off too. It's a very odd experience on a recurve bow. Granted my bow is 1.5 lbs so his might be closer to 6.5-7 but it was a killer setup with the full quiver and added weights
if you like it all that matters. im still stuck on wood for traditional bows and arrows but 1 day maybe ill go trad tech hoyt satori and carbon arrows...im sure more durable
There's a GREAT Video on RUclips. How Strong is a Black Widow Bow. That's TOBY in The Video. One of the Owners. How many times does he dry fire it? String falls off restring it. NO PROBLEM! Been Shooting Buying and Selling Traditional Bows for over 30 years. The ONLY ones I own now are Widows. PCH and a PL. Just my 2 cents.
There is certainly nothing wrong with wood bows. I still have plans for a particular one. Widow is certainly the exception as they make an incredible bow and have for many years.
I shoot the 17 inch handle. 50lb limbs,, 400 spine shafts. Off the shelf. A little cut through the shelf material for the feather to pass through,,, fly nice. PLUS the metal handle is a lifetime warranty. New. The limbs have a two year warranty. S0 i have my old limbs for back up. When the warranty runs out i sell the old set. Keep things in a rotation. The bow shoots hard,, and being cut past center makes it a dream to tune.
***FYI***
I still love wood bows so no one freak out.
you want to see good form check out Jeremiah Helg,,trying out my new pg1 arrows,,1,2.24
guess we all want hollywood
Haha I agree with you totally. They both have a place in my life for sure

Good choice. Best of luck 🤙🏼

I still love my wood bows too. I have plans for a particular wood bow in the future. (Spoiler: Bear 59er)

Congratulations on new Hoyt. You will build a lot of memories with it. Thanks for the video. Happy New Year.
Hope so!
When it rains I take my ILF with vanes otherwise I love my wood bows. Nice set up
I love em all 🤙🏼

Agree. Heavy bows has always been my preference. Even with compounds.
I have a set of DAS on my satori and I'm happy. I had 50lb limbs when I bought it ans swapped out to 60 DAS. I use a b55 string on mine and love it
I’ve been very happy with these DAS limbs. The good price is a bonus. I’d pay more for them. They fit very well. Not much slop.

Congrats to your friend!
A hand made wood bow is a work of art. The bow that is featured is the hammer of archery. That is just my opinion!
Couldn’t agree more
Nice bow thank you for sharing
🤙🏼
Just curious. What vest are you wearing. It looks like it would fit the bill in the north woods
@@jimolson5890 mossy oak brand fleece vest. I love it.

Im still experimenting there
Happy New Year man! Great new set up🏹
You too Ron 🤙🏼
Mine developed some creaking at the limbs. Put so me felt in the pockets. Helps quiet it down.
Great idea
Nice video dude! Can I ask which quiver you are using on your bow?
@@ptrgmx7396 Selway. Best in the business by far.
@@EthanPageHunter Awesome!!! Thanks and good hunting!

Did the same thing a few years back and canned all the compound gear I had. I find it much more satisfying.
For sure

Toelke makes an incredible bow as I understand.
@@EthanPageHunter they do and the satori is fantastic too, they just really shine in completely different ways
8 lbs? Dang my compound didn't weigh that much. Even my AR is lighter.

They both have attributes
fred bear..hehe🙂
Nice setup congratulations
Thank you
@@EthanPageHunter your welcome
I have both wood and metal, and I love my Satori. Smooth shooting bow. I have a 19 in riser and put a Bear weather rest on it.
Considered side plates with a weather rest myself
Out of curiosity, what did you trade for the Satori?
A custom 50s style

Tuning was certainly a breeze with this bow.
DAS bamboo cores are killer limbs that punch way above their price point.
Agreed
