OMG I feel like this video really showed me a true digital art process that takes advantage of the medium well, I feel like this is the most daunting part of digital art for me coming from just pencil sketching because there is just so much available to work with and it's hard to know where to start. thank you for the wonderful video!
I know this is a year old but I HIGHLY recommend getting an art glove too!!! (Like the ones that come with art tablets) it allows for much smoother lines and less friction between your hand and the screen! Plus less random dots created from your hand. I used my art glove on my iPad once to see how it would feel and it was LIFE CHANGING I literally cannot draw without it now haha
I've been using Clip Studio for SO long now, but I never knew about auto-actions, the filling gap technique, or the idea to just make your signature into a material lol This has saved me SO much time! Thank you! Suppose you can teach a lot to even people who aren't beginners lol It's nice to constantly find new features in your main program!
Hey Samijen, you previous video on how to make art in clip studio paint was what got me started doing digital art, you were the only one who truly had all the steps in a simple manner or didn't skip any (some videos were good but some skipped over explaining what a layer is, or how to set up the canvas) so yours was a God send I owe my art carrer at this point to you, and only half a year ago I'm finally taking commision and growing as an artist, so thank you so much Also thank you for teaching us more about CSP, it's kinda crazy how you can use this software for more then 3 years and still learns new things
God bless you Sami, I've watched your old drawing tutorial like 20 times and it's what got me into actually drawing and heavily influenced my style! I'm so excited to watch this and try out the workflow myself!!
I appreciate the segways to find and use every tool you used and showing examples without spending an absurd amount of time explaining it. Im a visual learner and new to digital so the segways and examples help soo much. Quite literally the best video Ive stumbled across for tips that wont overwhelm me. Clips studio has soo much to offer I am overwhelmed and confused on what to do and where to start. This is a great video thank you!
Thank you so much, this is really beginner-friendly and I'm able to follow along easily! It's a big jump to go from traditional to digital, but your tutorials make everything less scary.
even though I fell asleep 2 times while watching the video,I find this video very useful!I FINALLY UNDERSTAND MOST FEATURES AND KNOW A LOT OF TRICKS/SHORTCUTS TO DO THING!!!Thank uuuu
I was looking for a full process video and i gotta say this is incredibly well done. All the information with filling the lines with the paint bucket and getting over the little issues it can have was SO helpful, thank you.
I had no idea about 'adjust line width', that's such a useful tool! Definitely gonna try that out in the future The final drawing looks gorgeous! I love the contrasting oranges with the blues
Hey, I just wanted to thank you for making this tutorial and the other regarding the UI. I really like your teaching style, its quick but not to quick, you cut through the things that arent to important and your delivery is awesome. I really enjoyed the learning process, you took the anxiety out of it :) Daniel, London, UK x
13:37 is such an important one. I love this program SO MUCH, and one of the reasons is because of the 3d assets (and assets in general) I've also learned so much of human anatomy because of these models. Of course it's important to be able to draw without the models, obviously, but if you need to get a lot of work done quickly, let's just say because of a deadline or a comic, they're honestly a massive lifesaver
Thank you for this video! I have only had clip studio for a year and a half and omg it is very tedious to draw when you don't know what tools you have and how they work. This was very helpful ⭐
Custom brushes, like ribbons/laces/tatoos/thighhigs /and other patters for download and 3d models are so cool and what got me to purchase clip studio such advanced drawing program its cool
I feel like this helps me out a lot especially with the poses since I'm not that good with poses, I try to go line by line and see what the sketch looked like, it always looks bland to me and knowing that I don't have to go like by pose
OH! I didn't know you made the colored lineart auto action! I've been using it ever since I found it about a year ago, I love it so much! Definitely saved me so much time coloring my lines and made my overall images so much prettier to look at! ♥♥
This is extremely helpful! Thank you so much for making this video, I can tell that you put a lot of time and effort into it and it has truly paid off in the final product. As someone who is a video creator and has tried to make art related content such as this, I know and can tell the amount of time an editing truly put into this. Especially with explaining what your doing. This is very much appreciated and I hope you see this and keep up the good work ❤😊
Recently bought Clip Studio Paint and alongside it's daunting amount of features, I was having an art block so I've been putting off drawing for quite a while now. This video really helped me ease up to csp and seeing you using 3d models and custom asset store brushes made drawing (especially the anatomy) look a lot less daunting. Thanks for this video
Thanks Samijen for this video I was looking for a video for Photoshop to learn how to color and make a much better lineart in my illustrations, I will find out how to do it in Photoshop, thousand thanks Chama, Hi from Spain 🫰🏾🫰🏾🫰🏾
Having been using CSP for over 4 yrs and downloaded the new version straight away, so I thought that'd learn probably a few tips in the new version...I did, but it is the 100 plus tips on using CSP in general that I'm knocked over with. From organising the work space to the pens with outline and changing brush tip shape, to the 3D model colouring and assets and to much much more. I'm on the third viewing and Still learning more. Thank you Soo Soo Much for sharing this video, I've subscribed so I can keep upto date. 👍😁
Absolutely beautiful work you have!! Thank you for your time teaching us. Clip Studio Paint Pro is my first time ever but I experienced with AI and PS. I think the Paint Pro is the same concept from the PS. I’ll keep practicing and practicing! I want to illustrate my own two deaf children relating to my children’s book about them. 😊
this is so helpful bc i used to use clipstudio a while back and since some of the updates i've forgotten a lot and also it felt so different lmao its really not but i think i was so used to my setup that when i opened up and everything was hidden i was overwhelmed on how to find everything again xD anyway im so excited to try using the mask and multiply stuff bc i was always wondering how people did that but none of my searches got me anywhere XD thank you so much ahhh saving this for reference while i relearn how to do art!!!! yey!!!
I always get such a mini trigger when people hold their pen like they wanna choke it, pressing so hard that it might just hurt your finger till it's dead. Also you can use [ and ] to increase your brush size one size down and up.
Just amazingly well done and easy to follow! Excellent teaching skills and inspiring. Thanks a lot. I've already bought Clip Studio EX and your videos are what I was looking for. I'll check out your art class but I've already purchased and gone through a few on a different platform.
Considering the fact that I make 200+ frames animations, I still wait for enough updates to come along to justify upgrading from EX v1 It would´ve been about 250$ each year and version right now to get all the stuff from v2 to v3 :(
Fantastic tutorial! It really helps me visualize the process, and it's super clear and detailed! There's just one thing I'm having a hard time understanding: As I watch you make shading, it feels like most of your lines automatically go on the right side of the line, is there a tool for this, or it's just practice to become this precise? Thank you!
Hey! I am trying to learn CSP in the hopes of digitally making art now, and your video has been so incredibly helpful!!! I don't know if you're reading or responding to comments here anymore, but I have question. As I was following your tutorial, everything about the masking and layering was going great. Then, as I kept working on my piece, I followed the steps again, but this time when I clipped a new layer to the mask layer I can't see anything I draw on the new layer now unless I unclip it. Would you happen to know what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it? Thank you for any help and for your video. I'll definitely be exploring your channel!!
Hello! I think it’s because your mask layer is empty, if I’m understanding correctly. You could send me a screenshot to my DMs on twitter or insta if that helps.
This video helped me out a lot but the adjust line width filter did absolutely nothing for me and I still have to paint over all the gaps made by the fill tool manually :(
More I saw the more I loved, the video feel fluid linear and the explanations are quick and precise. Liked and Favorited cause I know I'll be coming back here for a while!
I recently got this app and have been testing it for 3 months. And I just have one problem.. I use it on my Galaxy Tab S7 Fe and when I want to draw and somehow my hand comes up on the screen, the program changes the color and or paints something even though I want to draw with a pen.. I found that you can turn off the finger screen, but then I can no longer make the image smaller/larger and/or rotate it.
When doing lineart, I think having the linework stay consistently the same size is really important. I feel having the pensize presets visible a must have.
my UI is nothing like what I see on this video. im using an ipad pro also and there are not settings under the brushes, its just a nightmare to navigate even with this tutorial..
@tacobellrules i actually have gotten the hang of it since then.. however ive noticed some functions have suddently stopped working like the finger scrolling and the space button doesnt work when im typing. Im making a webtoon so the layout options are great but i need to have the space command work obviously. I still use this app for organizing and laying out my webtoon tho.
I wish CSP would get rid of the ridiculous subscription model only for iPad. I use the perpetual version on the desktop but I refuse to rent the software on the ipad
It's just to get a better idea of what the final piece might look like, and if there's anything I don't like, I can make changes on the sketch rather than trying to fix a piece I've already spent time lining. It also makes lining easier. Without it, your canvas starts to look like just a bunch of squiggly lines and give a bit of a headache haha. But there's lots of times where I don't color first and go straight to lining.
my pencil and model (after rasterizing) is very pixelated. the pencil doesnt seem to stay the same size when i zoom in and out and is very thick even when i change size. how can i solve this?
OMG I feel like this video really showed me a true digital art process that takes advantage of the medium well, I feel like this is the most daunting part of digital art for me coming from just pencil sketching because there is just so much available to work with and it's hard to know where to start. thank you for the wonderful video!
what I use for sketching : instead of making it light grey, I make the sketch layer blue with some transparency, it's way better for readability.
Yeah reds and blues are super helpful
Ima try this, thanks ❤
TYSM!!! So thankful I was crying for hours before I found this video… clip studio is stressful to learn as a previous procreate user
I know this is a year old but I HIGHLY recommend getting an art glove too!!! (Like the ones that come with art tablets) it allows for much smoother lines and less friction between your hand and the screen! Plus less random dots created from your hand.

That was such a fantastic and thorough tutorial, you don't waste any time and just get right to the point with so much useful information!!
Samijen I did it.... after 3 hours watching your video I could figure clipstudio out 😂 thanks I will be forever grateful
I was looking for a full process video and i gotta say this is incredibly well done. All the information with filling the lines with the paint bucket and getting over the little issues it can have was SO helpful, thank you.

thank you for breaking down the technical aspects in a clear fashion
Thanks for another great, easy to follow tutorial! The last one you made encouraged me to make some artwork - this one is just as inspiring.
damn CSP seems really nice
Nice presentation, because you explain things clearly unlike so many others

I'm switching from photoshop to Clipart studio. Thanks for this tutorial, I'm going to watch all your videos. Love your style.
Thank you ı start using Csp 2 days ago ı couldn't do anything ı want but with your help ı managed to learn some things🥰
Hi, I'm brand new to digital art and this video is super helpful, thanks for helping me to get started 😊
I'm a complete beginner. You just sold this app to me. Thanks for the help.
This was very helpful as someone who has just started to use CSP
I just started drawing digitaly! Thank you 🙏 you're video really helped!

Not too many process videos like this, at least not that i could find. Thanks.

Thank you so much! Very useful tutorial for begginers
I just finished watching your first Clip Studio tutorial and then I'm blasted with a new one right ahead. Perfect video btw!
as I watched your old tutorial many times this new one was also a blast thank you
Thank you so much!!! Such a life saver!! I finally know what I’m doing wrong 😊
A spectacular video! Many thanks.
starting my adventure in art and this video help me alot
I've been using CSP for a while now , but i discovered some new things thanks to your video 👀
I'm going to play a bit with them lol thanks!
This taught me so much about clip studio paint! Thank you so much!
I'm just starting out with Clip studio and this video is so helpful! Thanks a lot for taking your time to explain everything in such detail.
I *always* forget CSP has a built in model posing thingy, and spend ages looking for the perfect ref instead. lol
I always get such a mini trigger when people hold their pen like they wanna choke it, pressing so hard that it might just hurt your finger till it's dead. Also you can use [ and ] to increase your brush size one size down and up.

Oh god thanks for the video it really help me so muchhhh🎉
thank you
Perfect tutorial.
That was a lot of useful tips. Didn’t realise there was so much aids in this programme.
Wonderful. Thanks you.
Thank you for this video! This was exactly what I was looking for. I learned so much. :)
Thank you
Love this video! Super Informative and the piece is super cute ❤
Considering the fact that I make 200+ frames animations, I still wait for enough updates to come along to justify upgrading from EX v1
It would´ve been about 250$ each year and version right now to get all the stuff from v2 to v3 :(
How did u draw hat, skirt without reference?
by memory lol
I was looking more into something that tell me how to use the tool properly like shortcuts and configurations, this won't do but thanks anyway
New to this. When you say “right” what is the option on the iPad? Starting to realize a lot of these tutorials are for the desktop version.
Great tutorial
Fantastic tutorial! It really helps me visualize the process, and it's super clear and detailed!

Yoo I learned so much from this, thank you so much! 1 sub for you

happy to hear that!🥹
What's the shortcut to undo that together at 17:10
hit Delete or backspace. there's also a button at the top of the app, it looks like lines forming a circle

I should've started using this instead of Photoshop a long time ago lol
You are going toooooo fasssst!, I can't keep up for an old man! but thanks a lot anyway!
Hey! Question. Did you change your Rough Nib settings? mine looks like its angled differently from yours.
Whats the width height resolution to make the paper side ways
Favorite song🔊🔊❤️💝
I wish CSP would get rid of the ridiculous subscription model only for iPad. I use the perpetual version on the desktop but I refuse to rent the software on the ipad
do you have to color first before lineart? I always did lineart before coloring? whats the difference?
It's just to get a better idea of what the final piece might look like, and if there's anything I don't like, I can make changes on the sketch rather than trying to fix a piece I've already spent time lining. But there's lots of times where I don't color first and go straight to lining.
what is the diference between normal trace and 3d trace?
I'm a year late. But this was an excellent tutorial and i just got a ipad.
i love u
my pencil and model (after rasterizing) is very pixelated. the pencil doesnt seem to stay the same size when i zoom in and out and is very thick even when i change size. how can i solve this?
why you dont use victor layer for line arte
I can’t get them all in one side
🥰
