    Slight correction Alex. The X5 didn't start out the MY2019 without the third row. They initially launched with the third row option (requires air suspension) but removed it earlier this year (I think February). There are in fact still some X5's on dealer lots that have the third row, as well as those buyers who custom built their X5's that have the 3rd row. It's a shame because the row third in X5, while not suitable for adults, will absolutely work for kids or as emergency seating. The third row was a relative bargain at $2200, including the $1000 air suspension. It also upgrades the X5 from non-adjustable second row (no forward/backward or angle adjustment) to electronically controlled second row with forward/backward and angle adjustments.
    Great video as always, hope you feel better with your throat.

      @Life Goes
      Youre the one calling it a box meanwhile its the most curvaceous SUV out aside from Infiniti's SUVs.
      The roof for example tapers off into the rear end of the SUV, it slopes downward like a fastback Mustang.
      A box assumes straight lines parallel to each other in 90 degree angles...which is the absolute opposite of the new Aviator.
      If we were talking about the *old* aviator I would agree with you whole-heartedly.

    I love the design.
    But these are only for rich people that want to lease a new one before it becomes a:
    Big
    Money-pit
    Works

      Yeah. BMW's are tricky. The best option is to lease, it's less expensive and you are in warranty the whole time. They do make great machines but they still have work to do on reliability.

      Eric D. Or you can just add 2yrs extended warranty for only a couple grand and get 6 yrs out of it, fix what ever breaks at the 8 yr mark and sell it, still a lot cheaper than leasing twice over that 8 yrs span. Assume obviously how much you really like the car and how well it age. From personal experience if the car was maintained well, besides scratches and door dings that accumulates over the year and some repair, the car is still enjoyable as they very well built.

    I thought all X7’s come standard with air suspension.

    Interesting of BMW to release the X7 before the redesign of the GLS.
    Now, Mercedes gets to steal BMW's thunder.
    Lincoln is in the same position with the Navigator vs the Cadillac Escalade, which will be redesigned shortly

      The Future Is Here more like BMW gets to steal GLS customers.

      @@afcgeo882 What I'm saying is what hapoens when the new GLS comes out in 6-12 months. Then Mercedes has the hot new thing, and this becomes day old eggs. Did BMW think about that? They've waiting a decade to release this. Why not wait a little bit longer?

    • @afcgeo882
      @afcgeo882 5 лет назад +1

      The Future Is Here because even without assuming that the Merc will be better (which you are), BMW gets to sell its X7 for 12 months, without any competition, possibly establishing themselves as the “go to” car. Being late to the game is NOT an advantage.

      @@afcgeo882 Who said it would be better? I don't have a dog in this fight. I don't care about either one. This is just logistics. the Mercedes will be newer, fresher. Just what BMW is going for the next 12 months, Mercedes will have for the next 6-7 years. It's market strategy, and BMW looks to be playing the market poorly. If you get off on this vehicle, have at it. I'm just saying this is not a great long-term strategy against a vehicle that has a huge customer base already

      The Future Is Here are you serious here? No one buys a car based on what month it was introduced. Cars are bought on what’s better for the consumer, either based on features or price. What if the Merc comes out and people just don’t like it as much? Then what? You have no argument here. There are only three ways to gain marketshare: either undercut in pricing, produce a better product or beat them out to the market.
      We know the price is the same. We don’t know anything about which is better yet. However, BMW neat them to the market and will enjoy the ability to introduce Mercedes customers to their car first. Simple stuff here!
