Could you test how much bacteria the scrub daddy/scrub mommy sponges hold on to? They’re supposed to be cleaner than traditional sponges. If you’re feeling generous could you also grow(or buy) a sponge plant and see how much it holds on to lol? I LOVE your videos
ooooh yes.. I love my scrub daddy!!! Often you will see it hanging out in the background ahhaha!
Last year I bought a large supply of several Blueland products for our small household of two adults and two pets.
My experience:
-Tabs fit fine in my bottles. I'm in dry Colorado. Could humidity be a factor in your tabs not fitting?
-I'm clumsy. I dropped two of the bottles and the nozzles broke easily. They sell them separately, so I've purchased extras. Not sure I'll continue to purchase if this keeps happening.
-I use the multi-surface cleaner in my kitchen. I like it fine. I will likely buy it again. (I always spray and let it soak a while on any tough grime on my gas cooktop.)
-I don't use the bathroom cleaner for our shower, but I use it frequently for sinks, toilets, and bathtubs. I might buy it again.
-I really like the scent of the toilet tabs. I break them in two and use half in each of my toilets. I doubt I'll buy again due to the cost.
-I like the glass cleaner. I'll purchase again.
-My husband dislikes the pump type hand soap, so I donated the bottles.
-I have a small front loading Miele washer. The laundry tabs don't break down in my machine using cold water. I've resorted to soaking them in water first. I won't buy again. (They might work better in other machines. They do break down in warm water.)
-I like the dishwasher tabs. I'm undecided whether I'll repurchase due to the bags.*
-I like the facial cleanser. I'll likely buy it again.
*I'm disappointed in the Blueland product bags that are only industrially compostable, so unless your community has industrial composting the bags end up in the landfill. I don't recall this being mentioned when I initially purchased everything. Poorly made plastic nozzles also end up in the landfill. Eventually all of the plastic bottles they create for their products will end up in the landfill as well.
I do like several of the products, so I will buy a few of them again.
Glad to hear your tabs fit! I am thinking it is a humidity issue. Nice rundown of your thoughts with the products. I didn't know about the industrial composting. Good catch! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
I also live in Colorado, and my experiences with Blueland products are similar. I'll write them in a separate comment.
when I first started detoxing my house Blueland was the first brand I've tried and it was very disappointing regarding cleaning power so I haven't tried all the products. Thank you for this test! Not sure if it has been suggested but I would love for you to try out Molly's Suds! Take care.
Yeah. I wanted to like Blueland sooo much. I will add Molly's Suds to my viewer suggestion list! Thanks !
Video request!!!
Test washing your hands with
- regular dish soap
- antibacterial hand soap
- regular hand soap
- wash all for 20sec (which is the recommended food safety time)
- wash all for 10sec (I'm really curious if even 10sec will work)
I will add to my viewer suggestion list! Thank you!
'Citric Acid' please 🙂I have a test suggestion for you. Would you consider doing a test using 'citric acid' to clean with? I bought a big bag of it and the bag says it can be used on tile, stainless steel, to clean dishwasher, washing machine and other things, as well as for a certain applications of cooking. --Thanks!
On my viewer suggestion list! Thanks! I have tested some cleaners with citric acid as active ingredient!
@@FieldOfFocus Great! 😊
@@Earthy-Artist I bought a bag of pure citric acid to clean my toilet tank and it worked great! But using it my disposal and sinks it left a foul smell, I tried it several times and got the same result. I really prefer borax or baking soda and vinegar for cleaning these things but it worked great in toilet tank
Hi! I’m a nurse and worked as an Infection Preventionist in a hospital. And I homeschooled my boys! I really appreciate your videos. I see Mr Clean Cleanfreak on many cleaning videos here on RUclips but when I read its bottle it doesn’t claim to disinfect, so I don’t buy it. A friend has used it and wasn’t impressed, it didn’t clean soap scum or other built up grim, they had to scrub. I’d love to see you review it. I’ve looked through your past videos for it but didn’t see it. Thanks!
I haven't tested Cleanfreak... hmmm will add it to my list! thank you! Happy school year!
Thank you for testing the bacteria removal. I had other issues: The sprayer took a long time to return to the start position. I canʻt clean efficiently if I have to wait 4-5 seconds between sprays. I hope they change the bottle. I live in a humid environment and the tabs in the packets melted to liquid after several months. The Blueland kit came with a lot of packets, so I wouldnʻt have been able to use up the packets in a reasonable amount of time. Maybe they should have options with smaller amounts of tab packets.
I liked the smell a lot, not overpowering and perfumey. The products cleaned fine, and I especially liked the glass cleaner, which left no streaks.
ooh I am not a huge fan of the feeling of the sprayer either. Actually I hate the bottles I just bought in bulk because of the sprayer too! There must be a good bottle/sprayer out there!
@@kp4695 Im in Miami. Humidity messes with everything. I also use Clean People. I keep forgetting in Mason jars with silica packets. Hope this helps!
Great video! Suggestion: Bar Keepers Friend
Will add to my viewer suggestion list!
Thank you for testing these! I feel like I can trust your videos because you have a lot of "common sense" and real world experience, and no vested interest in promoting any particular product.
I have used the Blueland spray cleaners and foaming hand soap for a couple of years. I like all of the scents. They are light and non-irritating to my lungs, skin, and clothing. I haven't had any problems with my spray bottles (and they're super cute and color coded, which I like). Recently the top of the sprayer on my yellow bottle developed a crack, so I have ordered a new sprayer part. I have also had to replace the pump part of the hand soap dispenser once or twice... None I've tried can really be used long term without getting clogged/not working at some point.
I like the yellow all purpose cleaner, though it's not really tough enough for bad stovetop messes. I wish it had done better at getting rid of bacteria -- that makes me nervous.
The blue glass cleaner works well enough, and doesn't have an overpowering ammonia scent like Windex. (I think Windex or BioKleen give a better steak-free shine though.)
I wasn't surprised that the pink bathroom cleaner didn't stand up to shower grime. It's more of a light-duty bathroom cleaner. I use it for the toilet, sinks, and counter. Again, I wish Blueland had done better in your bacteria tests (I assume the pink would perform about as well as the yellow?).
I order my products directly from Blueland, and I live in a dry climate. Occasionally one of the tablets has to be pushed into the bottle a bit, but I've never had one crumble so much like yours did.
I love the concept of Blueland. I love the aesthetics of it, I love the lack of toxic/irritating chemicals and smells, I love the commitment to reducing disposable plastics, I love that they don't contribute to shipping premade cleaners that take a lot of space in a truck on the road because of disposable bottles filled with liquid, and I love that I can store plenty for the next several months in a small space.
That said, I don't feel like it's the most powerful cleaner out there. I think the hand soap and spray cleaner refills are reasonably priced. I tried the body wash, and felt it was a nice texture and scent, and decent sudsing for a product without sulphates, but I didn't buy it again due to the price. I haven't tried the toilet tabs, dishwasher tabs, or laundry tabs due to price.
I think that's all my thoughts on their products, sorry it was so long!
I keep searching for the "holy grail" of cleaning products that are super effective, easy on my nose/lungs/skin, not bad for the environment, and reasonably priced. I recently saw your Force of Nature video and ordered that; I look forward to trying it!
Very true. I just try to show results. I have no vested interest in sales just want to show results! I also like the idea of Blueland and I agree it isn't the most powerful cleaner around. It is ok for light soil I think.
I realized the other day, something I do all the time. When I’m done doing dishes I squeeze a shot of dish soap into my sponge and squash it to a lather and leave it. Thinking in my mind that it would kill the germs in it until the next time I use it. I would love to know if that even works or if I’m just delusional. lol

Easy fix for getting the tab into the bottle,, crumble it in the package then just pour it in. I just started with this brand. I'm now looking forward to trying more products. Thanks!
Great tip! I was trying to show how they say to drop it in and was caught off guard that it didn’t fit. 🤷🏻♀️
@@FieldOfFocus I just received my order and the tablets fit. You must have gotten a batch exposed to a lot of humidity. I really like that there's so much less plastic. I like having extra on hand as we live in South Florida and we're still in hurricane season. Thanks for all you do!!!
I absolutely love your videos
😊😁
going to go check out more on your channel now, so i might find it, but if you haven’t already done it, i do have a suggestion for “wet & forget” spray for the shower. (you spray it and wait it supposedly does the work basically for you).
I haven't tested a product like that yet.. will add to my viewer suggestion list! Thanks!
I'd love to see testing of cleaning fruits and veggies!

Your videos are amazing - found the channel by accident and so happy to see a fellow Mainer on here doing well and with a really awesome channel idea. I tried checking in your Amazon page but couldn’t find it- what tool is that that you use to be able to spray water from the bucket of water?
Hello!!!! That sprayer.. since I don't really like it, I don't have it on my page! HAH! Here is the video about it! Review of Using a Camp Shower to Clean my Shower and Tub ruclips.net/video/a2RNUzZNPfc/видео.html
Here's a test for you.
When I go to the grocery store, i notice a slightly sticky substance on EVERYTHING.
Wipe down the plastic on a loaf of bread, it smells like dryer sheets
Wipe down a box of anything...same thing.
Same dryer sheet smell on the bagged lettuce.
Same on a pack of pencils
If you use very white fabric you will see a brick brown coloration.
Something is being sprayed on everything
Expose what Safeway and Walmart sprays on everything.
Food item or an object, they've all been sprayed.
Pull out a slice of bread and the crust part smells like....guess what ?
Bacteria is indeed an issue but we would do well to investigate and tell the stores to stop poisoning everything
I suspect the crew that cleans the store after hours is being very careless with spraying products. I'd report this to my local store manager if it happened to me.
That dryer sheet smell, parfumes and the "unscented" scent all make me ill. I think alot of it is modern fragrances in the cleaning aisle drift and settle on everything else alongside whatever products employees and consumers are using. I think many folks are nose blind to it and don't realize that most grocery stores smell like a laundromat.
Some of its bug spray too.
@@PrairieDawnC
it isn't careless at all
Go ask them
Pesricides kill us too
Have you tested Steramine?? I'm new to the channel and I didn't see this as being tested but I could have overlooked. Thank you for the AWESOME videos 😊
I haven't tested Steramine, but I do have it on my viewer suggestion list!!
Wow! You had to use 1/2 a bottle of the pink cleaner just to clean 1 tub and 1 shower. I’ve no idea how pricey this stuff is but I’m thinking that could get costly.
YES you are right. I like that they have the refillable tablets but eh.. for what it is worth, The Bucko wins every day for me in the tub and shower cleaning!
Whoa, those tablets look like a real royal pain in the tush to put in the dang bottle!😕 I’m going to admit that I am SHOCKED that the multi surface cleaner did so incredibly well! Goodness! I’m going to look into Blueland products!
YES! Another viewer said that if they crumble, just crush them in their package and pour in the bottle. Have a good night!
@@FieldOfFocus: I’ve also seen someone pour the water in the bottle (to measure), pour the water into a bowl, dissolve the tablet in the bowl and then pour the mix back into the bottle. I admit that your way seem MUCH less of a pain in the butt though!😆 I thought I’d share that anyway.
I have hand held shower head to help me clean my woohooo & feet but love for rinse shower in hot water after my shower and when cleaning shower to rinse at end of cleaning. Great to wash window screens with clarifying shampoo dilution.
Thanks for your thoughts!!
Just subscribed.
Wondering if you have tested septic safe cleaners? About 25% of homes in the U.S. have septic systems. I’ve heard you can kill the bacteria in your septic tank needed for it to work properly by using the wrong cleaners & laundry products. Septic systems are $$$$$!!
New septic tank owner here.
We do have a septic tank, and before leaving here I always had city sewer.. so it is fairly new to me too. My biggest takeaway is not to use lots of bleach and lots of super harsh products down the drains.. I test a variety of cleaners here so finding one that you feel comfortable with is important. For me i don't need m toilet bowl to be bacteria free so go more for a cleaner rather then a sanitizer there.
My tablets did not fit either. Also I had the spray bottle literally come apart as I picked it up. That did it for me.
Good to know!!! I felt crazy trying to record it and squishing to make it fit!!!
Could you test your bed sheets that you slept on before and after steaming them. I make my bed and steam to get the wrinkles out. I’ve always wondered whether or not it sanitizes as well.
Interesting! This is a new request! I have 1000s of requests! I will add it!
I would love a spray bottle review. One that doesn’t just stop spraying after one month!
Yezzzz. We use the big ugly refillable Zep yellow spray bottles and they seem to last longer then anything else I've bought. Downside is they look like something someone would use to clean up industrial waste and not an adorably aesthetic eco friendly vibe. Not the end of the world but sometimes I am a little jealous of the cute granola girlies.
That is such a good idea. I NEED to find a good one. I do cheap out and purchase them in bulk since I do so much testing for this channel, but would love a glass bottle with a reliable sprayer! Will add to my viewer suggestion list! THANKS!
@@FieldOfFocus thank you! The search is so frustrating!

Hello, new subscriber here. I'm currently binge watching some of your latest videos and have a question . What was the sprayer you used to rinse your shower? I checked the description box and your amazon store but I didn't see it listed in either. I've not been able to convince my husband to change to a hand held shower head and am stuck using a solo cup to rinse the walls. UGH!!!!!I know it's probably covered in another video but I have no idea which one.

I throughly enjoy your videos and will watch them all. There are many benefits to being fastidious, however you do understand being overly clean is unhealthy esp for young children.
I test products to see if their claims match real world home cleaning. I also test things that my viewers want to testing. I am in no way saying you have to live in a bacteria free world.
@@FieldOfFocus thank you for your quick response, perhaps I missed that point.
