This deserves the thumbs up just for keeping a lute in tune! Quite the task!
Only one word comes to mind to describe this performance; Divine.
Bravo Nigel!
朝早くから聞いています。この音色は朝にぴったり。爽やかになります。
Thanks!
To David: no, the renaissance lute isn't tuned like instruments today. According to what key the piece is written in, the instrument needs tuning.

Gran "da Milano". Felicidades.
"lets put the microphone on the floor, that will sound great!"
Fantasia 41 4:30
Just a question. Would he be reading from tablature or standard notation do you think?
Tablature without a doubt
tab I wonder if he reads Italian
sorry it's upside down..cheers
air braille!
he couldn't tune it before going up?...
unfortunately lute gets out of tune after you walk with it in a case.
I play Middle Eastern lute (oud) and I have to tune it a little after I open the case to play it. it seems temperature change or movement makes it a little bit out of tune.
the pegs are not as strong as guitar. they move over time and wont stay 100% in tune as much as other instruments
