I went to Glasgow a few times in the early 80s. There were lots of people who looked like this! And the best best bands busking I have ever seen anywhere.
This song and belious some imagination and the associates party fears two are probably some of the best songs out of the 80s they've quietly stood the test of time
How were these guys not huge? They had a cool look, charisma and catchy clever songs... I remember seeing them in Glasgow back in the 80s and they were really good live too!
Yep they had the lot. Glasgow was full of great bands back then! Always found them and Love and Money similar in look and sound but I think James Grant is a phenomenal songwriter.
This song turned out to be their only Top 40 hit, breaking the Top 20 in March 1986. Reminds me a bit of the pubs and clubs we went out to at the time, and a particular girl we got to know who also went to at least a couple of them.
I have been trying to remember this group for years, it was one of my first CDs but couldn't recall their name so huge thanks for posting and allowing a random stumble to come across! Great album
Sleek big cat 🐈 bible black Honeysuckle I would never deny The light 💡 of deep regret Let me see what I don’t get The light 💡 of deep regret Let me see what I don’t get Pass through the heat Come on, come on and Pass through the heat Catch a thief, a honey thief I am a thief, a honey thief The light 💡 of deep regret Let me see what I don’t get The light 💡 of deep regret Let me see what I don’t get That’s the price you pay 💰 When love 💓 gets in the way Stealth in the night I come to steal with stealth In the night You got the sugar to satisfy I am the man 👨 you can never deny The light 💡 of deep regret Let me see what I don’t get The light 💡 of deep regret Let me see what I don’t get
Thanks for the lyrics...it's taken me 35 years to find out what some of them were! Mind you used to read the inlays in cassettes or albums? My eyesight couldn't cope with that now!
Definitely is a Buried Treasure. And Ken Bruce also gave a good nod to Johnny McElhone. If a Scottish Music Hall Of Fame is ever set up if not already, this man should be a shoo in for induction.
This is a classic case of the band that predated a commercially successful one was actually better. There is not one Texas song that holds a candle to the stuff on this album.
Amazing Song! aweful production. recorded like a pig. Mastered like it was recorded next door. Flat as a witches ... diary. 100 percent volume? watch out when you go to the next track

Haven't heard this in over 35 years. Still sounds awesome.
I've never heard this and I'm not disappointed I missed it. Terrible

I'd completely forgotten this. It's great. 😊
Underated 80's classic!!

Completely agree. Takes me back to my school days. 😊
He used to live across the road from me in Drumchapel. He is a brilliant guy.

One of my favourite 80's songs
Nearly 58yrs old. I need this.
Still got the 7". Loved it then and now.

@@candicebond4289 same. Very underrated band from the mid 80s. They didnt get the pat on the back that they deserved.
I had this album on tape, Now I'm introducing my sixteen year old granddaughter to it., :)
Always loved this. Saw them live in Detroit and Toronto.
I have been trying to remember this group for years, it was one of my first CDs but couldn't recall their name so huge thanks for posting and allowing a random stumble to come across! Great album

I was actually there at the concert in 1982 and yes they where amazing, yes i'm not young
I discovered this group in France in Nimes' arena at a Simple Mind's concert, that was around 1987!
I was there too, amazing gig along with the waterboys and simple minds ❤
amazing LP
Sophistipop It's like using Sidol to clean and polish home silverware: transfixing from its dazzling effect ✨💫
Dat dancing is amazing
'80song wow 😍
I also saw Transvision Vamp in 1984 and Queen in 1985 ( queen was before the live aid thing)
Paul Staveley O'Duffy produced some bangers...at the age of only 22!

Lo mismo
Ken Bruce played today

What a great music, and why the bad hair...
this was written for Jenny Matthews.
Who????
Main line Doncaster KTF
Bravi ma molto simili ai Simple Minds.

The word is awful* And it sounds pretty good to me. Big fat drums and synthy things. It's probably just a bad quality video audio.
Weirdly for their most famous song is one of the weakest from the album. IMHO
Shite
Opinions vary, I disagree so there we are
wheesht laddie
@craig weir - Yes YOU are . . . but we won't hold that against you.
@@MrMaddy70 I disagree too. Hipsway are a great band.
Beat it. Why waste the type typing a rude opinion? Away and listen to whatever tripe you enjoy ya daftie.
Uwielbiam zespoły ze Szkocja z lat 80, Friends Again , Fiction Factory, Chris Sutton i ten !!!
